The original post was several days ago, I guess that it refers to the DDoS attack on the Hive server.

It says maintenance mode, that should be more than enough information. Be patient and let them fix/change things.

Check that your graphics card drivers are up to date, that can make a big difference.

Most likely a bug, there are a lot of nasty critters in the Arma II foliage which have a strong bite, there are numerous cases of fatalities occurring. ;) On a more serious note: It was most likely a bug, just like how you can get hurt by crawling over small rocks or when a player runs into you whilst prone. The collision detection is very poor, if in doubt it seems to just hurt/kill you.

Dual core 1.3GHz? I did not even know such a thing existed. Integrated graphics cards are never good, they are not designed for gaming so have insufficient power. Arma II is very unoptimised so even "good/powerful" PCs can suffer when running it. I recommend that you download the "Arma II free" game and see how it is, you have nothing to lose that way. I do not think that you will have much luck, so I recommend that you buy at least a mid ranged PC or good laptop (with a non-integrated graphics card) if you do want to start playing PC games or find a cheaper hobby because your lovely new PC will be out of date after a year typically.

A few people have mentioned this issue. You should check on the bug reporting board if there is an existing thread about it, otherwise make one.

Be careful when dropping items because they can fall through the floor, so it is always smarter to use an existing loot pile or drop something which you are able to lose first. I cannot answer your question though I am afraid, it would probably stay indefinitely or until a server reset if a player was close enough the whole time. If no-one was present it might despawn after a certain number of minutes with the other loot piles.

I hold alt rather than double tapping it, that way it can easily go back to the default view of behind the character. I have lost count at the amount of times where I pressed some key combination on the keyboard for it to mess up, either a shortcut that I did not know at the time or more recently when the game bugs. The one which I keep getting recently is when the equipped weapon doesn't work after climbing up/down ladders, I have to change to a different weapon to fix it.

This has been suggested numerous times already. Rocket did try to implement this style of logout but apparently there were bugs and it was pulled straight away or not put in a public build.

Others have been waiting weeks/months. If you look at the stickied topics it clearly states do not buy the server yet, so I am afraid that you are to blame. You just have to wait your turn and there seems to be a big backlog of server requests.

Supermarkets have the same loot as other residential loot locations, but the spawn rate is higher. So it is worth going to a supermarket for food, soda, canteens, matches and a backpack when you first start out and have nothing to lose, because there is a good chance of meeting another player there.

0.28% chance of spawning in any residential loot pile, out of thousands of piles, compared to ~0.5% for NVG in a handful of locations over the entire map. I know which one I would rather look for first. ;)

Your blood will keep going down slowly until it reaches a certain level (9000 or 6000, I cannot remember), you can keep eating to increase the blood count but it is a losing battle unless you can find some antibiotics quick. I have only found 1 in my numerous lives.

Is Rocket or the development team actively removing servers which have not updated to the latest version or are using the wrong naming? It seems that unless some action is taken server owners are happy to not follow the naming rules (which helps everyone) and there are quite a few out of date servers. Correct me if I am wrong, but I would have thought that removing the out of date servers would reduce the load on the Hive server and improve performance for everyone. It would also allow people on the waiting list to have their server whitelisted sooner because there must be a physical limit of servers that the Hive can support. Sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere, I did search and as usual no results were found.

Can we please get a new board on the forum which can be used for people to find other players to play with? Currently the posts looking for other players just clutters the rest of the forum. I did search the forum, but as usual there was no returned results and I did check the first two pages of the suggestion board just to be sure that it was not suggested recently. I am aware that people will not read and still post in the incorrect place, but it would be possible to move the bad threads and for people to direct them to the right place. An extra bonus would be to have sub-boards for regions or time zones so that it is easier to find people who are near you. This would be very helpful for someone like myself who is in Asia, there are not many people playing on the same time zone.

I have yet to see zombies spawned inside the barracks and if you do find them in there you could throw a bottle or empty can outside and draw them out. After aggro, I have found that the large industrial building close to the northern barracks is good to draw the zombies into because it gives you a large area to pick them off one by one. Running into the barracks should also work but there is a risk of attracting other people and there is only one exit.

When spawning double tap the left shift, it will make the default as walk instead of run. Then when you want to run you can hold shift, but I do not advise it unless you are on grass and have a clear line of sight all around you. The zombies are buggy, the next patch will reduce the noise that they hear by 50% through walls, this alone should stop a lot of the problems where zombies hear you even though you cannot see them because they are the other side of a wall. It all comes down to being patient and staying as far from zombies as possible. I do not recommend lying down unless there is no other option because it takes a long time to stand up and be able to run away. From crouching you can start running straight away.

Without reading what others have said, I do not recommend getting the linked PC. The CPU and graphics card are both very out of date and would not run the game well, you might manage low settings but I have some serious doubts. The fact that the listing says "7.2 GHz" is more than enough of a reason to not use this seller.

As others have said, you can run it but probably on low settings and the FPS might be patchy in places like the larger towns.
