So your suggestion is put more zombies in cities when you spawn with no weapons so that you have zero chance of getting anything out of the city?...uhhh no...the game has to be balanced around not only the zombies but also the players. If your on a care bear server where everyone loves you great. I am not if I enter a city I will bePK'ed even though I just spawned and have nothing and there are medical supplies scattering every tent and the hospital....people just don't care.....and for the record weapon's spawns are great if your the one there first if not good luck gettting that gun especially when the guy who has one comes back to the spawn later to collect extra ammo and you spawned without a weapon.....

I feel if there were a better risk to reward ration in favor of killing zombies that people would do that more often then player kill. I think zombies should randomly spawn most items in game with a preference towards beans or pasta. As it is it is so much easier to kill players and loot them when they spawn with no weapons compared to taking on a horde of zombies that increases at the sound of your gunfire. Please dear god consider making the flashlight a smaller tactical one that mounts on weapons. Or make an improvised flashlight mount possible with "duct tape" so that any barrel weapon can have flashlight. Obviously for pistols the cross arm technique of holding the gunarm over the one holding the flashlight would work just fine.... Also if your gonna keep the giant mag light style flash light it is worth noting that most security guards keep those big mag lights because they are not baton certified and they make a good club...why not have flashlight melee?

Zombies need a big fix. (ragarding run cycle and speed)

I agree with the original poster on the point of zombies needing a run speed reduction, and their run patterns changed. The zig zag movement needs to be removed it doesn't make sense. Why would a zombie be intelligent enough to run from side to side. Also I have closed gates to avoid zombies and they intelligently open them to come get me....this also needs removed. Zombies are not intelligent they are brain dead, having them open gates is stupid what next they gonna drive up on an atv to catch me? Secondly in the balance department the bean wars are not gonna stop till zombies drop beans/pasta more frequently. If you can kill players and get more rewards then from killing zombies with less risk (no guns at spawn) then why not kill players? Also matches/hunting knives need some better spawn locations, shouldn't most houses have matches or a hunting knife?.... dying with 3 uncooked steaks in your pack because matches are more elusive to find then waldo is a real buzz kill...and why can I hack an animal to death with an ax yet I need a hunting knife to cut a steak out of it ....maybe make axes multipurpose and spawn them less.....I entered a barn one day and found 9 axes...yeah 9..... -
Around 10pm California time I died on LA8 and when I began to reload into the game I was halted by something. I noticed that my character died while my screen was still in the black loading character and there was a guy spamming chat with guitar music named Logan as well as people spaming the group channel with different messages. I don't know if it was a hacker or just spam/chat spam or a server issue but it seemed a little fishy the game refuses to load on that server now which is very dissapointing as i have played on that server all day long without issue. Pleae resolve great server otherwise.

I am a huge fan of the zombie genre and what has been accomplished so far in Day Z. I find the game to be very atmospheric and intense. One of the problems I have with the game however is in the lack of an overall objective other then survive. Survival alone in zombie movies or literature is usually not the key goal. In shows like The Walking Dead or movies like 28 Days Later. The goal goes from survival to a preservation of humanity and an almost family values approach to survival that centers on perserving what is human in us. One element I think would add to the atmosphere would be random events involving NPC's. You could help them or rob them go on missions to save their family from zombies, or bandits or even escort valuable medicine and food to encampments if your good or if your evil loot pillage and rob for your sadistic gang leaders. I like the idea of having gear that can be lost. Now imagine if you add currency to the mix by including money or a barter system and loot shops at different camps. You could make camps for the good guys and also have bandit camps so that either play style was supported and had a safe zone to log out in and find people to party with in. Having missions that vary in difficulty and require more then one person would encourage grouping and the rewards could steadily increase. All the while however perma death would linger over everyones head giving the game that almost Old school diablo hardcore feel. Also fleshing out the game with voice actors would add some depth. Hearing the screams of innocents dying all around you would ratchet up the tension. Finding peoples cell phones or answereing machines with easter eggs of horror ala bioshock would be great. Or hearing bandits talk about how they are going to rape and pillage a town of survivors at night will give all the more gravity to the situation at hand. Especially when night arrives and they actually do attack in a random scripted event.(see what the Arena Net team is doing in Guild Wars 2 for an idea of how to raise the bar on random events) I also would like to see cosmetic rewards earned through achievements in game that would be permanent like hats ,cammo and clothes that would make your character far more unique to you. Also a way to select racial features hairstyles facial hair ect. in addition to gender. I also firmly believe there should be a more efficient stealth system in the game. I want to be able to silently sneak up behind a zombie, npc or fellow player and take them out with a knife kill. The 3rd person of course needs to go for this to work properly and it should as it adds nothing and detracts from the tension a 1st person view gives the game. I would also say that making loot spawn completely randomly is needed. As far as a logical reason for a draganov sniper rifle making it's way into grandma's study, well obviously in an apocalypse the military was moving throughout this town and setting up in differnt locations ect. All you need is a bloody soldier hear and ther clutching the loot and it all makes sense. It will also prevent people from making a bee line for the best items and return the joy of exploratin to the game for everyone new and old alike.

Removing all means of safely entering a zombie infested room/town to collect items was a poor decision. They need to implement other melee weapons fast and start everyone off with a melee weapon because seriously who wouldn't go to the garage and grab their baseball bat if this was happening in real life?

I agree with the original poster. Saying stealth made it easy isn't the point. If you remove any incentive to be stealty there is no reason for a crouch or prone button. I have died countless times from either a zombie sensing me through a wall when I am crouch walking , or someone running by with 14 zombies chasing them as i am lying flat on teh gorund that drops the aggro on my head as they run for dear life. That is not in any way a fun mechanic. The maps are far too large to require belly crawling to every destination "just in case". They need to make a crouched run silent completely but spotable with direct line of sight. They need to make a silent take down possible if you approach any enemy from behind (With or Without a Weapon....the ole neck snap would do ) If you go prone and dont move after breaking line of sight you should also be invisible to zombies and their aggro should reset and they should not just stand around but shuffle off. Giving zombies normal human vision makes no sense. If I get a broken leg and the pain shakes my vision is so blurred I can barely see yet a dude who is dead and came back to life and has half his face missing can spot me in a bush from a click out cause I am crouching? ...that makes no sense... Giving the zombies vision that is effected by shadow, sound and movement makes perfect sense. They were human before so if your in a shadow and prone you should be invisible to them like you are to most players. If your low running you need to be silent so that people can move about the map efficiently. The addition of an unarmed kick or push that knocks the zombie down temporarily dazzing them so you can escape would also be welcome as a means of self defense for the 2 undead that end up still chasing you after you ran through 3 houses and did a half mile sprint down a beach to lose them.....
