    Simple Solution to Loot Farming via Server Hopping

    1. This is not a realistic survival simulator.... How do you eat cans of beans without a canopener? How does a person with no prior experience know how to build a helicopter or a car or an atv from a few spare parts? Not to mention fly said helo... Why would random people in a zombie apocalypse be pro at shooting high end military weapons including sniper rifles without a spotter? Why would an injection of morphine cure a broken leg? Morphine is for pain only and slows the heart rate but will not mend bones in real life... Why would getting slapped in the face by someone cause me to bleed more gallons of blood then the human body contains... (you have approx 2 2 liters of soda worth of blood give or take thats it) Ohh I have the answer this isnt realistic it is a game...... Direct quote form rocket - "This mod is not about realism. Realistic combat? I was a soldier, it's fucking boring 99% of the time. This mod is designed to have the authenticity required to model and produce some authentic emotional responses.Reality has many concessions made against it in order to achieve this authenticity in the brief time a player is present in the world". ...the point of a game is to have fun not play by any predefined rule set you have imagined in your mothers basement... 2. Pointing out people have lives beyond video games must be a revelation to you. People want to play when the want how they want and it is none of your buisness. If someone wants to play only in daytime conditions it is their perogative to hop onto a day time server when they want not yours, mind your own buisness. How does anyone elses playstyle or gear effect you? Ohh I have the answer... you must be one of those players that doesn't know the map or spawns beyond the 2 coast cities ...let me inform you there are over a dozen deer stands 3 airports and many interior cities not to mention the random on every server helo crash site to scout for gear if you are telling me that there are 16 plus server hopppers farming them all I can't believe that. I'm guessing you are either too lazy to go find the other spawns or you assume gear should be waiting for you every time. Guess what in an average server of 50 people you got a 1 in 50 chance of finding any loot at a particular spawn ...those are not good odds add to it that in the .2 patch there will be larger servers and more zombies that see beter and loot will be even more rare. Get that lube ready if your hurting now it is about to get worse.... 3. Exactly ...do that Day Z Wiki read it learn it love it....

    I still have no problem with being killed by bandits. I'm just saying: Remember a couple of weeks ago' date=' where it was possible to meet a stranger, who didn't automatically murder you on sight. Where there were a chance that the survivor you meet looting a supermarket with enought loot for two, wouldn't instinctly shoot on sight, you'd both get what you needed, exchange a few good words and each go on his merry way. You heart was still racing, because bandits and random murderers still existed back then, but it wasn't guaranteed that every encounter would be a lethal one and sometimes a little trust/humanity was rewarded with a nice little moment of friendliness. Back then it was still possibly to meet others, who were actually more interested in survival, than murder. These days new players learn to either shy all human contact or KOS. Pure PvP was never the fascinating aspect of DayZ, just like pure PvE wouldn't be either. It was the confusing mix of both modes, where coop and competative players would interact, to combat mistrust or to abuse trust to backstab and murder. At this point there's is only mistrust and rampant killing, no use for direct chat, other than to shout obcenities, before killing or dying. The only social interactions are clans/communities on external voice programs, killing anyone but their peers on sight. Whether the reload bug is fixed or not, there's still any more assault weapons and piles of ammunition, than boxes of matches in Chernarus. If you want to live off the land peacefully, it's easier to kill someone for their survival equipment, than to try to find it yourself. Well the murder rate seems to have reached the celing, since everyone KOS and yes at the moment killing is pretty much everything the mod has to offer, but it wasn't like that a couple of weeks ago. 1. Player behavior is learned through experience. No one is going to revert to not killing on sight after having it happen to them because if they work for hours on a character or days and weeks that sting of losing a geared player a tent and a ton of weapons is sitting with them the fear of dying will cause shoot on site that is why they removed starter weapons so that when you first start you can party up and form a group of weaponless survivors with nothing and get going that way. If you refuse to do that, that is not the games fault. 2. Killing people is harder then finding what you want and living off the land is mind numbingly easy if you know the spawn locations and game mechanics... http://twitch.tv/hanibalhendrix/b/323078670 note I have zero zombie or player kills.... If I opened my menu you would find a chez backpack a match book an axe and a hunting knife about 12 meat steaks 4 canteens of water a 45 revolver with 4 ammo refills 5 morphine and 5 pain pills ...every item I got I got in one of the starter cities within the first hour of gameplay, except for the rifle ...a DRM I got first by making a mad dash for the airfield from the spawn and then sneaking out.... again zero zombie or player kills....sorry your hypothesis is incorrect. If you want to play peacefully you can...easily... The problem is that now I can make infinite food and water so what would you do if you are me? Go find a hill somewhere and lay prone for hours at a time waiting till I need to refill my last water canteen or meat steak so I can climb the all time ladders? Or go hunt a player or explore a village for a tent and some things I dont have like a map or gps or more rifle ammo ect. I actually prefr not to kill but my rule is if you approach with a gun out you die (period) rifles can be slung you can approach with a flashlight not just the ominous "any friendlies around here" that has me assuming your a bandit that thinks I'm an idiot. If you have my class gear or better would you risk a friendly hello with some random noob that just started playing the game? I play alone I have zero backup....my survival is dependant on me. If I had a clan or a group of people I played with I would be less aggressive because of safety in numbers. That said I don't so I am ruthless when need be but thats the point in this game. Survival isn't one predetermined thing that only you choose to define it is whatever everyone playing makes it. So my behavior is determined by me....I could risk my gillie suit and go wait at the beach and make friends but I choose to say that is too risky and the chance of somone backstabbing me is too high...it is all a choice. Nothing is defined or forced on me by the developer. I would prefer if there were some unique talents every survivor brought to the table so that you felt like individuals had something to offer and there wouldn't be a reason to kill everyone on sight but as it is the game doesn't support class or talents and till there are more unique items in game to make individuals lives worth something the PKers will always grief because they choose to go the easy route.... Just remember that is their choice though...you can get geared without it.... I will add I also see nothing wrong with server hopping as it is currently in the game as a mechanic as much as goblin farming in diablo 3. I didnt use that to get any of my gear or items though ....so pls stop acting like it is impossible not to PK people because gear collection is too hard, if you pk it is because you choose to ....people are doing what they want to do....just because it is safer to do doesn't mean you didn't have a choice not to shoot first.

    I'm immature because you ignore the patch notes and keep starting threads that are pointless...mmkk... 1st they are not just tracking ammo in .2 , Ammo was infinite. If you had a leet weapon and 1 mag every time you relogged the mag would refill. Obviously if you have infinite ammo that is a problem wich was fixed in .2 and needs no further discussion. 2nd there will be more people in the game and more zombies and zombies have a random chance to see you even in prone or crouch in .2 so you will need to shoot more and there will be more people vying for the same ammo drops thus less ammo. 3rd you have not played the patch and are assuming it was not enough but the reason it has not launched is because they are doing extensive internal testing first, posting in forums that you know it won't be enough while they already stated they arn't releasing the latest patch till it is balanced correctly makes you seem like you are a self absorbed child....I suggest you stop spamming forums for fixes they already put in unreleased patches before I report you for abuse thank you and have a good day.

    Precisely. Dramatically reduce ammo and it becomes far more valuable. It's scarcity makes it desirable' date=' but means you can't afford to waste it shooting people on the off-chance that they have more than you do (and will still have after the fight).     You need to read the patch notes. The reason snipers are so snipe happy now isnt because they need to lower ammo it is because ammo is infinite' date=' if you reload then relog on most leat weapons your ammo currently resets to full wich is fixed in the as yet unreleased patch, so that bug is why snipers are so prevelent the ammo is already limited when the bug is fixed the number of people capable of sniping continuously will drop. Rocket also added a feature that improved game performance by 50% so more zombies and survivors can spawn per server in .2 ...with more people compeating there will naturally be less ammo. Untill the latest patch launches we don't even know if this is an issue, although personally I prefer the conflict because without it the game has no endgame. Currently past the first hour when you get your alice pack and starter supplies there is nothing more to the game except pvp. Limiting that without adding in anything would kill the game. [hr'] It's just my experience that anyone I meet either flees' date=' shoots or disconnect, because they expect I kill on sight like everybody else. [/quote'] People can still kill on site with axes....and melee in this game is horrible...I promise you if you if they reduce ammo to far...you will see a ton of nubs running around hatcheting each other and the pro's will still be sniping them off with the few leet weapons they collected it will just make the game worse for newer players and easier for pro's . The problem is new players don't do the research needed for this game and have no idea where to go to get food weapons or ammo and they are drawn to the two main cities and their death at the hands of better equiped pro's time and time again....that is what the Day Z wiki is for so people can learn the game and spawn locations and get better at the game...many beginners dont know what the shock condition symbol means or why they cant stand up and there is a broken chicken leg on the side of their screen....when they are asking things like this in chat it is a prety good indicator they shouldn't be on the forums asking for buffs or nerfs to things like many of these posters are...

    Also if you play on a high pop server there are no server hoppers at all because they can't get in if the server is full. The pro players however are just camping the airports with barb wire barricades taking multiple spawns or farming it cause they got the respawn timers down. You going to complain about that to? What if a team of guys takes over a building and wahhhh you cant get a sniper rifle is that grounds for complaint?... Get over it dude it is part of the game. If you can't find any weapons in this game you havn't learned it that well. Within the first hour server hoping or no on any pop server you should have a larger pack an rifle an axe hunting knife matchbook and canteen and basically be a self sufficient survivalist capable of producing your own food and drink infinitely....from there you have 3 airstrips to search plus the chopper crash sites and multiple dear stands I highly doubt you got 16 plus server hoppers camping all of the leet weapon spawns, you just need to learn where else besides the airport to go aka learn the game or learn to play..... http://www.twitch.tv/hanibalhendrix/b/323078670

    Server hopping for loot is part of the game. No one complains about goblin farming on Diablo. Farming spawns is going to happen with or without it ,untill the developer makes it a no no or changes the game mechanic it is the games mechanic. Also to be fair if you want to get fat loot go play on a low pop server late at night...I went on a 8 man server at 2am found a ghillie suit and a drm and basically went to every spawn in Electro with zero opposition but the zombies. If you want leet gear there are ways of getting it. Punishing other players that have to play briefly between college classes or after they get off work or have poor internet connections or vision and need to play on lighted servers because you can't find loot isn't the point of the game. The point is survival and it is supposed to be hard so you have to choose if you should shoot a guy for his loot or continue on with a pistol and a can of soda...that is the central point of the game diminishing it to make it more care bear friendly will end that desperate decision making.

    Actually your suggestion would have the exact opposite effect. Any time there is less of anything in this game world then it is more valuable and murdering someone for it is deemed necessary. That is what sparked the bean wars and if there was less ammo it would surely be saved to use on other players. You can't go around shooting zombies in cities less they aggro the infinitely spawning horde on you so guns would only be used to kill others. Also a solo player would be in a far worse position. I don't want the game to froce me to play with others to survive. If you want less ammo play on a high pop server where the spawns have been ransacked constantly. It is hard enough to find good loot on a 50 plus server giving out less would just make people chase each other around with axes and crowbars. Also if ammo was rare after you died you would spend far too long trying to find a workable gun against people with rifles and ammo it is bad enough when pro's go to major cities and snipe camp people with nothing making their advantage higher won't make the situation better. Some players just want to grief no matter what you do in game I have been shot with leet gear by the coast and had all my gear waiting for me when I respawned . They didnt even bother to loot me. Why then did they shoot me? Because thats what they consider fun. Most organized groups have tents and multiple high end weapons and will treat the apocalypse like a shooting gallery. That is just a fact of the game unbalancing it to favor peace goes in contrast to the stated ethic of making a world where the players evolve the game through choice. I would much prefer they made characters more individual and gave us routes of learned progression that would give us value and make shooters think twice about simply killing everyone they met....at least till they benefited from your skill...whatever that may be....

    Suggestion how to outrun zombies.

    I think before they make major changes to how zombies behave they need to deal with how zombies spawn. Most times if a zombie spots you in the open and comes at you and you shoot in a town it is an aoutomatic death sentence if you don't run. They swarm you and spawn infinitely at your location and won't stop till you die or run out of bullets augmenting this with a if you run you pass out option sounds in no way fun. I feel the people that want all this added difficulty arn't playing solo at all. It's bad enough you have to slow crouch walk and prone crawl through most cities or risk getting killed but making it so you can't even make any mistakes and running isn't an option is just downright absurd. Then what's the point of playing the game? If you stay and fight zombies they will kill you if you run zombies kill you...so the game is about perfect stealth manuvering then? As far as this new random zombie site mechanic it sounds horrid. It is already bad enough low crawling in a town takes forever and you ahve real peopel to worry about so you have to keep checking your 6 if your alone doing it now the 3 zombies that you are low crawling past have a random chance to spot you and infinitely spawn friends on you to....this is going to be a big fail with the community if it's nearly as bad as it sounds...

    Server Hopping/Exploiting Prevention Idea

    That is a poor idea from the mear fact many, many players dont want to play the game during the night cycle and when it transitions they switch to a server with the day cycle. Untill they make flashlight use less cumbersome I don't see people changing their minds on this...In my mind they need a flashlight mount and a smaller military grade flashlight to start so you can attach it to most of the rifles on the guns rails. They should also have a duct tape item you could use to tape it to some of the none military grade rifles without rails like the Lee

    is that video a mod or a mission from one of the arma 2 levels I havn't played the game proper yet....makes me want to have my own trainable dog in day z though....would be so much fun have to feed him and nurture him can train him to kill zombies and defend you if you get knocked out or drag you to safety if you get a broken leg and if you don't feed him he attacks you and rips your throat out in your sleep and eats your remains..by the way they should really make sleep a mechanic in the game.....having to find a safe plae and sleep after a certain time would add alot to the game.....lol ....i can see it now....the joys of pet ownership in the apocalypse....

    When no one in the game has any unique attribute there is no reason to keep anyone alive beyond the people you play with in your small circle of friends or clan. Strangers you randomly see on servers have no unique value and can't be trusted when the stakes are perma death and total gear loss. Are you going to trust a perfect stranger in this game to do any of the things you listed if they can just shoot you in the back and run off with your loot at will? Probably not, so how can you have community in this game if you don't intrinsically need one another? As far as the real life argument I see coming up in forum posts ...in real life people who survived would be from all walks of life, doctors lawyers, school teachers, they would all have unique skills and talents none of wich would involve firing sniper rifles and gutting goats for the most part.....If I gave 80% of the Day Z players a live pig and a hunting knife in real life and said when I come back have meat steaks cooked or I'll shoot you in the head instead and steal your beans....well, there would be alot of dead nerds that's for sure.... Realism would lend itself to classes. Because in real life to quote Liam Neeson "I have a particular set of skills"...at least most of us do anyway... This game is not realistic....whens the last time you ate a can of beans without a can opener? This games design philosophy is emergent gameplay. That changes little in the concept of class as we can still have them by loading out a particular set of gear ourselves so to be frank classes exist they are just personal choise decissions as opposed to ones made by the developer which again is not fully acurate because even in a class based game you get to choose the class you want to be up front. So the true difference is in a class based game you don't get to say be a sniper then choose to be a soldier you are stuck with your decision. Which again to be fair is more like real life. Trust me I was in the military if they spend thousands sending you to sniper school your not likely getting the option to change your MOS any time soon... Although in rel life non military professionals have more control over life decisions the idea that at will you can master how to build a chopper or a car with no prior knoledge is again not reven remotely realistic. The game makes conciets to further it's seudo reality. Saying classes are less realistic is not even a remotely lucid argument. It may be a design choise of the developer wich is fine but like anything if the people that play the game want something different they are entitled to give their argument to why it would be a usefull addition. For a more rich journey down the line wether you call it a class or just make it an item in the loadout having more character specific unique items will add alot more to the game then not.

This is the second time I was killed mysteriously by nothing on this server this incident happened at 8:38 pm California time I was near the top of the map on the border of the forest and the endless green desert I believe you call the debug forest, there was noone even remotely close to me, I kealed over and died there was no gunshot or blood I was at 12000 blood and full hydration and full hunger this is either a bug or a hacker or possibly even the person running the server doing something illegal. Right after I died I immediately saw a long list of names die in rapid succession. I have no idea what this is but it is highly annoying to be robbed of all your amazing loot because of someone cheating the system there needs to be a way to reinstate loot that has been lost to hackers or cheaters this is rediculous. I had full health I had full hydration 14 meat steaks 5 morphine 5 pain pills a hunting knife 3 canteens an axe a matchbox a compass a watch a silenced pp 19 full auto machine gun a m911 45 calibur handgun with 3 mags 9 bandages an allice pack and 2 long days of play only to get wiped by some cheater or a bug ...garbage like this makes me want to quit playing this is rediculous.

It's a simple common sense thing if you get killed by a hacker or a bug that is no fault of your own you should have your gear reinstated and your life clock reserected so that you keep acumulating popints towards the all time leader boards. I have had 2 times when I was wiped by what i believe to be a hacker I reported this the first time yet nothing happened and today it happened again. Suffice it to say I will be avoiding that server but the idea that I was cheated out of all my leet gear because of either a hacker or some undiscovered bug really bothers me. This is more of a long term request thing after the game is more polished but if hackers cn't be coralled at least have a way that legit players can get back what they were griefed out of. i opened a thread on the report cheat forums discussing my issue this is just a suggestion towards the game as I read more and more people are getting killed by server wide nukes and such. When I died I was near the top of the map on the border of the baren neve ending green desert I had full health and hydration 12000 blood and there was no way anyone was near me I was on a hill in the middle of nowhere and had been panning my camera and could see far into the distance yet I suddenly kealed over dead as if I died from thirst or something, there was no gunshot and no blood. Then several other names came up dead in rapid sucession. I can only think it was either some undiscovered bug related to the day night cycle changing as it turned dark on the server after I reloaded or a hack either way supremely dissapointing for me. At the time I had 9 bandages 5 morphine 5 pain pills 14 meat steaks 3 full canteens an alice pack a silenced pp19 full auto machine gun with one mag of 64 rounds a m911 45 calibur handgun with 3 mags a compass a watch a flashlight an axe a hunting knife and a matchbox not to mention 2 long days of play only to get rolled back to scratch by nothing.....pls come up with a solution for the players like myself having this happen to them.

    another things I remembered the day night cycle switched on relog so it could possible be a related bug....
