The cheater problem maybe? I haven't ever seen you guys even talk about that publicly. Is discussing the cheater issues taboo here? The peak amount of information I've heard is BattlEye there, BattlEye that, but nothing about what the devs are doing/planning to do about this. The main issue is the fact that this game is easily exploitable in the first place, and BattlEye can't do ANYTHING about that. Reducing the exploitability of DayZ should be your main priority. If cheaters have a lot to gain by cheating, you won't stop them really.

The issue with this lock is the fact that it only has 1000 combinations, which can be brute forced (opened by trying every combination possible) in a very short time. This makes it very insecure and not viable for locking bases. I'm thinking about either removing it completely and making more space for the 4-digit code lock, or replacing it with a 5-digit code lock. What do you guys think?

Really? Are you seriously forming some sort of political conspiracy theory over the lack of dayz servers in midwest America? Ok, liberal.

Could you perhaps suggest to the developers making the audio cutoff after death a bit longer, so players can actually hear the gunshot that killed them? It should make the false cheater accusations less frequent.

Are there any future plans regarding the cheater problems?

Are there any future plans regarding the cheater problems?

Even if the developer team is small, why don't they get a second anti-cheat, like some other games are doing? The biggest issue is that admins on community servers can only catch blatant cheaters, but not ESP'ers for example. I also have a slight feeling that there are more cheaters coming to community servers than official, since on official I haven't gotten an inexplainable black screen of death for quite some time now (maybe pure luck, who knows). However when you look at The Calm deathmatch discord server, specifically the channel for reporting automated bans, you can see just how many blatant cheaters are coming there. To answer your question, I've instantly died several times out of nowhere (no gunshot, and I wasn't standing in one place either), then there were my shelters that all got coincidentally found at the same time, bases from which items were disappearing and so on. There are also countless other people who had similar experiences with cheaters. -

The cheater problems are primarily on the PC platform. -
Not sure if it's just me, but lately Berezino seems rather dead. I'm playing on a full official server, and Berezino seems completely empty at the moment, which rarely ever happened in 1.22. I remember that Berezino was always riddled with fresh spawns, and so there was a lot of fun. But now, I would be surprised if I even heard a IJ-70 gunshot in the distance.. What do you guys think? And what towns are more popular now?

I love how the train tracks have literal tons of stones under them but you have search for several minutes in order to find one you can actually take...

Nonsense of downloading Dayz from Steam !!!!

This guy is either a troll or a 12 year old -
Found this gem in one of the videos description: I'm guessing its time to update the TOS first, then Bohemia can take action. Either way though, this won't make the cheating problem much better, what this game needs are built in anti-cheat measures.

What you're seeing is called occlusion culling, it plays a big part in rendering optimization. To my knowledge its not possible to disable this, however you can make the loading appear smoother by getting a faster SSD / CPU, depending on what is slowing the loading down (check your task manager while playing the game, if it shows 100% usage on CPU, disk usage or even GPU, you've found the issue). You could also try tweaking some graphics settings affecting textures and render distance. I've noticed this kind of behaviour while playing the game as well, however i just brushed it off as my drive isn't very fast. Your hardware seems to be quite decent though, so unless your SSD is full or encrypted, this shouldn't be happening. As Sid said, you should probably create a ticket on the bug tracker.

There are only 2 devs? That can't be true right?

Hello, According to the official dayz twitter, it should be released on November 7th.

Are official servers going to be wiped after the 1.23 update?

PLS HELP! My account was hacked!
damca replied to disconnect-d38ced484fa333cb's topic in General Discussion
You should probably contact steam support about this. However the chances of you getting unbanned are not very high unfortunately, if any. Steam bans are usually permanent, no matter who used the account at the time.- 1 reply

I think it would be better to report detailed methods of duplication to the devs using the feedback tracker (privately ofc), I am pretty sure that they will do something about it. This could definitely work as a temporary solution though, however it would need to be added to every official server in order for it to have some effect.

Dayz it's still not finished(not in a bad way)

I am not saying that DayZ is a game about building bases and hoarding loot, I'm just addressing the issue. In your 3k hours, when was the last time you've seen someone use a flagpole (in vanilla)? If it wasn't meant to be used, why is it in the game then? And why can the flagpole be used to extent the despawn time of player structures up to 90 days? Seems to me that the devs intended DayZ to not wipe that often. Its true that DayZ is not just about building bases and hoarding loot, but its still a part of the game. Don't want to be rude but you need to understand that everyone plays the game differently, there's not some "correct" way of playing it... Also, when have I ever mentioned the game's population? -

Why do you think so? In my opinion wipes are ruining the game because dayz simply isn't a fast-paced game, it takes a lot of time and effort to get good loot and build a secure base. There's also stuff like flagpoles, electrical generators etc. that almost never get used because the servers wipe too often. Players can also raid bases, so loot-hoarding isn't much of an issue either. Community servers aren't really cheater-proof either though, there are still hacks like ESP that are pretty much impossible to detect unless the cheater is making it obvious. There's also the potential issue of admin abuse, the server not actually being very vanilla (altered config), and also you can't get achievements on community servers. -
Yeah that's definitely not allowed.

I really hope so, I just got killed by a cheater and i don't plan on playing again before the update is released. I don't even care about the stuff in my base anymore, the only thing i want is this game being playable on official. -
