I've seen several references to "Black forest arms" or "Dark woods arms" on ammo boxes and gun cleaning kits, however in the actual Black forest (Черный лес), there are no military bases or industrial areas that could manufacture such stuff. I am I missing something here?

Dayz it's still not finished(not in a bad way)

That's true, but I honestly think that the dev team should focus primarily on the problems that are actively ruining the game (cheaters, bugs, wipes etc.) instead of adding new stuff. Its definitely nice to see a content update once in a while, however the new stuff is completely useless if you get one tapped by a cheater every few minutes. Right now it feels like the devs are completely relying on battleEye instead of making some anti cheat measures in the base game (memory obfuscation, anti-debugger measures etc.). It would certainly be a pain in the ass for the devs to implement, but the community would definitely appreciate it a lot more than extra backpacks. -
Are official servers going to be wiped after the 1.23 update?

@Kyiara What do you think? Would it be possible to release the update without wiping the servers? -

Oh.. But is it really necessary? I've heard that the reason for server wipes is because player structures could get bugged due to map changes, however pretty much no one builds their base in the NWAF, so what's the point? The devs should at least try to avoid unnecessary server wipes, its just another thing that makes official servers bad... -
It isn't a bad idea, but fingerless gloves are practically useless. It won't protect you from cuts or getting your hands dirty, so what's the point?

Trail of blood on the floor and walls after the player bleeds.
damca replied to Matheus1111's topic in Suggestions
Yes please. This would also be a great addition for figuring out the reason for someone's death, and if the blood dries over time (like in cs 2), it could also be used to figure out the approximate time of death, even if the body is cut up, despawned or buried.- 1 reply

I have a base that consists of 2 gates, one is outside the building and one inside. I would like the outside gate to be unlocked while i am in the area, to make entering a bit less time consuming. However i can't just leave it unlocked, because then anyone can just come and lock it with their own code lock. My idea is to have a way to attach a code lock but not actually locking the gate, which would prevent other players from attaching their locks while also allowing the gate to be opened. This could be done by attaching the lock while the gate is open, which would IMO be a good way, since its common sense that you can't lock a gate when its wide open. The devs wouldn't have to deal with new models either, just take the existing locked code lock model and make it slanted to imply that its not holding onto a second pole.

That's a good point, however it can also be argued that the entire mechanic of base building is unrealistic, since in real life you would be able to dismantle a wall from the front using a crowbar, or cut the lock off using a hacksaw. Anyway, just imagine you have a base with a double gate, and you get shot from behind just as you open the first gate. The person who killed you doesn't get the loot, however he can lock the gate, making your base inaccessible, and if it's a 4-digit code lock, you can say goodbye to all your loot. My point is that currently there is no way to make your base secure against such things.

Just check the latest patch notes. They fix so much shit each update and then get "feedback" like this... The fact that its not visible doesn't mean that they don't work hard. Just be patient, when all the bugs get fixed, they can focus on adding new stuff. Let's be honest, would you rather like a buggy and unplayable game with a ton of features, or a stable and playable game with less features?

Tripwires at the moment are quite expensive, requiring a metal wire to craft and a grenade to actually use, which makes them pretty much impossible to use early-game. My suggestion is to add a less lethal version of the tripwire, that can be used to alert players about an enemy's presence. This kind of tripwire would be crafted with regular rope, however it won't be possible to attach grenades to it, since that would be too op, and also pulling a grenade pin requires more force anyway. The only thing that could be attached to it are small pistols, which would shoot when a player walks over the tripwire. They could possibly also point towards the player to inflict some damage, but I'll leave this up for discussion. Either way this could make tripwires much more useful, for example if you plan to stay in a town for a bit longer, you can put this tripwire in the front door of a police station together with a badly damaged IJ-70, and when someone enters you will hear a gunshot, alerting you about a player's presence. The same can be done for military tents, hospitals, regular houses etc.. What do you guys think?
