Butchery
When butchering animals for meat, my suggestion is to allow the player to skin, gut, bone and cut accurate pieces of the animal - as well as to carry an animal. (If small like a goat, throw over shoulder. If larger, drag the animal or cut into smaller pieces and carry.)
For new intricate animations to vary depending on the animal, task and tool used - and to take a considerably longer period of time to complete each animation. As opposed to an 8 second animation that magically spawns pieces.
For example: Currently a chicken yields two to three breasts, bones and feathers. There should be two breasts two legs, guts, feathers a head etc.
This would make for a great mechanic, as in real survivalism every part of an animal has a use. It would allow for a more immersive experience, and make survivors wary of where they take an animal to be butchered.
Cooking
As we have different ingredients we should have different cooking process combinations to create different foods.
For example: Cooking pot, water, potato and beef steak - could give us a fortifying beef stew.
Cooking pot, water and fish head or bones - a less fortified fish head soup or bone broth.
Cooking pot, water and rice - steamed rice.
Being able to use different cuts and vegetables, and being able to add them as we wish would be a great mechanic. Also a true to life survivalism aspect that would apply a deeper level of immersion.
One of many things I have always wanted to suggest! Hope you guys agree!
