    Currency System

not even close. Stop pretending to be intelligent. there would undoubtedly be currency? Wtf are you smoking? No, there wouldn't be. When society collapses, the only thing of any value are trade goods.

Consequences of player killing - a new direction!

Another stupid anti-PVP thread. Getting really tired of these. "Do something that only happens to people that murder. To penalize / mess with / discourage people who murder." No. Stop fucking posting this garbage. It doesn't matter how you dress it, these ideas are awful.

    Root of the problem

Aborting / alt-f4'ing the game completely ruins the immersion of the experience. Not to mention it's incredibly cheap. It has nothing to do with losing out on a kill; it has everything to do with being robbed of the emotional exhilaration of surviving a deadly encounter. And as someone already pointed out, it completely circumvents taking responsibility for your failures. The people who "don't understand" why this is a problem are the people who are abusing it the most. It's only "part of the game," because the game has to have a logout feature. But using that in a dangerous situation is cheap, cowardly and outright ruining the experience for a lot of people.
  4. This falls pretty well under the category of "realistic for realism's sake." This wouldn't improve the game in any way, shape or form.

    Currency System

Your currency is the goods that you are carrying. Money means absolutely nothing in a crisis, because money has no intrinsic value. Food, water, medical supplies and weaponry are the only things worth anything. I don't even know why you would want money. If you're not carrying anything valuable, no amount of zombie dollars is going to change that. Who is going to possibly give you something valuable in exchange for something that is completely worthless to their survival? You can't eat money, you can't defend yourself with money. Money is pointless.

    IDEAS FOR A BETTER DAYZ!!!

    1. No. Body armor is not a good idea in any context. 2. Rocket has already said he plans on making identifying markers for people who play in groups. I hate when people come into the suggestions form when they haven't even bothered to read what the game's creator has planned. 3. Entirely unnecessary. For the most part, you aren't going to live long enough to want to spend the time burying things so that you can come back to them. Especially if you're "saving them for another life." No. 4. Wouldn't serve any purpose and would probably just require more system/server load to keep track of. No thanks. 5. Rocket has also said that this isn't an option. More zombies = more server load = less enjoyable gameplay. 6. Rocket has also addressed why zombies have erratic movement. Do some goddamn reading instead of just jumping to the suggestions forum. 7. "Hey, let me stop bandaging myself, it's not like bleeding everywhere is bad for my health or anything." No. 8. "gernaid." I didn't even read the rest of this. 9. Using the words "realistic" and "zombie" in the same sentence absolutely invalidates any point you're trying to make. Zombies are not real. Do not pretend that you know how they behave. 10. No. People server hop for legitimate reasons all the time. Punishing all players because of exploiters is not the solution. 11. Agreed. 12. This already happens with wire kits and sandbags. Fortifications are used almost primarily to troll servers, rather than creating a safe haven for survivors. 13. Pretty sure this is in the works as well. 16. No. Traps are going to end up being used for trolling. Traps don't serve any real purpose.

    Why I've Stopped Playing DayZ

Posting this (and not in the suggestions forum) would've saved all of us a lot of time. ARMA is not like other games, and DayZ is most certainly not like any game you have ever played. Stop trying to force yourself to like it.
  8. I wish resistence would stop posting. nothing but garbage and awful grammar. It's driving me crazy.

    Weapon Suggestion Thread

Less NATO weaponry, more Eastern Bloc stuff. This isn't Call of Duty.
  10. aversionfx

Incentive for not being a bandit?

I love when people make trash suggestions, and then when they get called on it, say "obviously you didn't read / didn't understand my post." This idea is Grade A trash. More whining because the game does not conform to your wishes. And stop fucking saying "people wouldn't start killing each other in a full societal collapse." You're fucking wrong.
  11. The majority of suggestions don't go anywhere because they are bad.
  12. The VZ.61 definitely needs to be in.
  13. Wow. This is quite possibly the most well thought thread to grace the suggestions forum. And I am being 100% serious. Having stats from our encounters with other players would be incredible. It makes me sad knowing that this will get buried by a thousand "add X because it would be so cool!!1" threads.

wild tamable animals and wild life in general

Why would this ever be a thing.

    Simple Solution to Banditry

One of my favorite things, is when some idiot finds a statistic, and assigns meaningless value to it. And then that idiot comes and posts something like, "this statistic proves X!" without even bothering to understand it. All that statistic means is less people are playing. Period. That's all it means. Considering that the overwhelming number of players coming into the game only started playing in the last 2 months (since around E3 and huge word-of-mouth since), I think it would be more accurate to say that the hype is dying down, and the community pool is returning to a state of equilibrium. This can best be attributed to the fact that ARMA simply is not the same kind of FPS that is really popular these days, and so most players get frustrated and quit. Or perhaps it's the fact that DayZ is not about run-and-gun gameplay, and is rather a slower paced, more deliberate survival sim - something that most people would think is neat on paper, but isn't that "fun" to play. Or maybe that DayZ is too challenging. What that statistic does not mean, is that the game is dying. It just means that less people are playing, for any number of reasons.

    PvP structure suggestion

Everything in this suggestion is awful. Like ... it has zero redeeming qualities.

    You should add SUV's

Dude bro, maybe you can get bottle service and some spray tan in your SUV bro. Wooo yeah. Because it'd be totally awesome YEAH.
  18. Which is incredibly different from how things are now.
  19. aversionfx

blood moon or a red moon

Considering that these aren't the classic shambling undead zombies, this is a poor idea. The "zombies" in DayZ are infected humans, not undead.

    Suggestion for people who disconnect

This gets posted at least a dozen times every day. I'm actually very much in favor of your overall suggestion. I think it needs to be a little more strict; logging out while wounded simply kills your character.
  21. I shouldn't even bother replying, because honestly, you're not worth the time. You simply don't know what you're talking about, and just want to be a part of the conversation.
  22. aversionfx

    Universal server time

Servers are hardly empty during night time. You must not play a whole lot. There are always plenty of people playing on night time servers. It's just that there are always more people playing on daytime servers. But saying that X is true does not inherently make Y false. ;) As for actual length of daytime, I would say that a "full" day would be around 6 - 8 hours, to correspond to how quickly your hunger and thirst meters drain. You can live for days without food, yet in DayZ, you couldn't survive a single night, let alone an entire day.
  23. I don't think the solution to dealing with PVP is by changing zombies at all - people are still dying to zombies all the time. But to be honest, the people dying most often to zombies are not the kind of people who should be playing DayZ. Those people are too impatient, too impulsive, and too reckless. They are exactly the kind of people who would get weeded out of the gene pool at the first sign of trouble. And also, something I think a lot of people are overlooking with all of these suggestions. If you create incentives for teamwork, grouping up and supporting each other, do you have any idea who also benefits from that? Bandits. Most of the people who are roaming around, killing players, are doing so in a group.
  24. aversionfx

    Windage, adjusting for windage

Having to adjust for windage would separate the good "pretend" marksmen from the people who simply have scoped weapons. Which would absolutely cripple sniping for sure (meaning that 90% of the people I encounter in-game are absolutely terrible shooters), which I highly support. I think the actual implementation of this would be incredibly complex because: if there's wind, and wind will effect your shots, does that mean wind is going to hijack your close range shooting?
  25. aversionfx

    Universal server time

So why bother dicking around with a universal time in the first place? Let servers across the world have their server time set to be consistent with their local timezone. That seems to be a much easier and more logical choice. Since DayZ's night/day cycle is close enough to 1:1 (as far as I know), having a universal server time just wouldn't be fun for people who prefer to play at a specific time of day. If an in-game day were significantly shorter and not based on real-time, I wouldn't care, because the days wouldn't be long enough to actually matter.
