Content request: Evil Wizard skin

I put on my robe and wizard hat... -
I was thinking skills would be nice also. Just like Domination type maps, it would add to the teamplay aspect.

Mod Edit: This thread is full of bullshit. Please read the last post of this thread for info: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=23828&pid=213079#pid213079 Your brilliant discourse aside, I have to agree. I was going to install it when it asked me to accept the license for the 6 pieces of malware/toolbars it contains. I hit decline and it proceeded to try to install them anyhow. Thankfully I always test this crap in a VM first, so no harm done. Still, I would advise people to steer clear of it unless you can stand the extras it installs..

Players should be persistent even if they log off then, that would fix everything. -

If he can't get a one shot kill from a hill far away then he should be closer. -
maybe he just prefers this tool and doesn't mind the extras it puts in, who knows. Everyone has their own thing. Not to mention it really is voluntary on our part to install it even though it does it without permission. I am thinking I should verify what I saw about the decline button not working and file a formal complaint with the devs of that app.

I love this bit most. In reality, you are right. -
A helpful hint for anyone installing unknown software for the first time, either run a second copy of Windows in VirtualBox, or use an app VM called Sandboxee. They allow you to run programs in a virtual environment so if they install a bunch of stuff you are protected, it only installs it in the VM (virtual machine). If you don't like it, wipe the VM and it's gone.

I never slued in that locked servers were bad before. I have seen a lot of them since I started playing.

So don't use it' date=' torrent the mod and manually install. Takes like 2 seconds. [/quote'] yah well.. A warning that says that on the download page would be nice "WARNING THIS IS MALWARE.. YOU SHOULD USE TORRENT INSTEAD.." It actually says the opposite of that on the download page. Rocket sold out already Who says that it's a malware? Your free Norton Antivirus? I don't mind the app, it's just the extras it puts in there. I never ran it against SpyBot but I'm sure it would pick up on something it puts on the computer.

I lost track of this thread, did we ever get the server blacklisted and this miscreants banned? -

Teleport script? Joking, seriously. It is governed by the engine to simulate how long it would actually take a soldier to jump on the ladder. Bear in mind thy have to stow what they are holding in order to climb it. With 40-80lbs on their person and a rifle in their arms, it takes a second to get situated.

When I get bored I just get as many zombies after me as I can and run after people. I don't log out though because I never have anything better than an axe. Best gun I have ever found was that bolt action thing with iron sights. Sometimes it's just fun to have a town full of zombies on yer butt.

DayZ + 'Vegetation Tweak Visuals'? [optimization]

Your gfx card doesn't even meet the minimum requirements for the game. I suspect even using this mod won't do a whole lot for you. -

Ah man I feel for you' date=' that really sucks, its never nice feeling when you feel something has been misrepresented to you, especially if you laid down money in order to experience it. What videos were you watching before you got the game? I have seen plenty of PvP and PvE related videos, The most popular PvE videos I've seen are the CHKilroy vids, are these the ones you are referring to? Sadly though the onus is on you to fully research something before buying something, whether its a videogame, movie or book so you can be sure you are getting what you want. Also the videos your probably referring to were made by the community, not the developers, as far as I know the developers have not really done too much advertising personally as technically its not for sale yet, so its unfair to accuse them of misrepresenting the product. Hopefully you stick with the game, I think the rampant player killing will settle down and the mod will probably achieve the balance it needs. [/quote'] TO add to this, I would also suggest looking at other mods and addons for the stock ArmA game. There's a lot of entertainment value there for moth PvP and coop games. -

Was it designed to crash? And if so, was it the correct crash that crashed? It was designed to crash gracefully while working correctly. -

It's possible this is an environment addon, changing the textures, weather, etc. They are all over the place. Just Google things like "arma mods" and you will see lists of stuff. Some of the realism and AI enhancements for stock ArmA are really great. -
Idea for getting people to team up ...
radius replied to ATOJAR's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've been somewhat vocalizing some changes to the mod in other threads, this looks like a good one though. Nothing huge, but perhaps some actual coop objectives built in. Who knows what format they would take but something to encourage it where the rewards are a little better than just a single player experience. Keep the core gameplay as it is and just add some extras for those who want to do coop. The bandits can still try to pick off teams but oh well, it gives people a sense that teaming up has a real purpose now besides just doing it to keep the spawn campers happy. -

radius replied to Ghandi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
DayZ might benefit from a concept like the Domination maps for stock ArmA. Make it so you have the option of taking control of cities and other points from the zombies, clear them out. That would add some team play options to it. Being that there's a limited number of players on the servers the zombies could easily retake places the players have left as they move on to new cities. This would create a kind of dynamic warfare atmosphere. As for why to take out cities, perhaps a reward of a few better guns or a slightly better heli or two? No idea, just throwing ideas out there. This wouldn't take banditry out of the equation necessarily but it shifts the focus more to survival and teamwork.
