Radio Devices? | "Word spreads of bandits in xxx"

Radios should be a lootable item, as well as radio broadcasters. That way if you discover a radio you are able to hear broadcasters for x amount of meters/kilometers, and people with broadcasters will be able to broadcast whatever it is they may choose to do. Radios/radio broadcasters should have multiple frequencies that you can fine tune, so that if there is someone on a certain frequency simply spamming you can change to another channel. Rocket and the development team could go so far as to allow for custom-frequency channels (from a frequency range of 0.0-100.0) so that teams could all tune in to a single frequency (i.e. 45.6) and then it would be much more difficult for bandits or spammers to lock in on their frequency. This would add a tactical side to the use of radios, as only broadcasters could send information and would require the player to be stationary -- sort of like a commander overlooking a town while his squadmates go into the town to loot, so that information could be divulged to the team as they go. Bandits could use radios to detect other people and get the jump on them, giving an advantage to smart bandits. This could definitely work, though some of it would defy a small bit of realism and it would require some heavy work to be implemented. I can just imagine myself getting a radio broadcaster and sitting outside of a town: "Good morning Chernaruuuuuussssss!"

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

How can we install the most recent patch? It hasn't automatically updated through Steam, so I'm a bit clueless after searching around on the Arma2 website.

    Su-25 spotted at NW Airfield

Your squadmates sound like the yellow minions from Despicable Me.
  5. I haven't been bothered by zombie hypersensitivity or heightened detection, as I began playing just after that change was implemented. I always assumed that zombies were rather aware of their surroundings and that it takes a certain amount of caution to get around them without drawing their attention, and thus I haven't had any problems with sneaking around due to me not having to adapt. Once this system is changed and the zombies become less super-aware, I feel that the newer players who began playing after the original heightening of the zombies' awareness will have an even easier time than those who will have to adapt. Obviously it's not that dramatic, but it's still a plus for newer players.

It takes guts not to shoot on sight

I always try to avoid survivors whenever possible, to avoid an awkward confrontation. It takes a special kind of guts to sit still and wait for potential dangers to pass rather than engaging someone and possibly getting your head shot off.
  7. I feel the survival elements quite a lot, actually. In a zombie apocalypse, I would be extremely wary of other human beings: Possibly more so than the zombies themselves.
  8. I didn't start playing until a few days ago, and honestly it would seem that I should be really glad that I didn't have to adapt to this AI-awareness update. I'm extremely cautious around zombies, especially in more populated areas, and thus I have few run-ins with them due to my extreme conscientiousness around them. I say adapt and overcome. The game isn't "too hard" now, since evidently a noobie like myself can get around them in even the most populated areas (Berezino, heavily-aggroed Cherno, etc.) you just need to slow the fuck down when you're going around places and be more aware of your surroundings.

    People! stop being paranoid!

    Haha, it's very possible!
  10. Like I dont know that. For the third time - I played all the OFP/ARMA1/ARMA2 games and I love them. If this game is so ultra realistic why the fuck you can save your game in single player ? Because you should. Because its still a game to enjoy. - How the fuck zombies break you LEGS ? In one hit ? Very realistic. - I cant have my main weapon on my back while using melee weapons ? Very realistic. - I am bleeding from one hit from the zombie to death ? Very realistic. - There are no useable cars in the apocalypse ? Very realistic. - There are no weapons in the whole cherno ? Very realistic. - Zombies dont have any loot apart from b beans or coke? Very realistic. - I can run for hours w/o being tired? Very realistic. - Zombies dont die frmo hunger? Very realistic. - People shooting everyone on sight? Very realistic. Now come again any say its a realistic game and I have to L2P or leave. FFS is a damn game. If you can loose everything after 3h of looting in 1 sec' date=' then at least make the game easier. ps. God, how I hate those elitist hardcore dipshit's telling me the game is not for me. This is what wrong with DayZ's community - arrogant hardcore idiots who dont know anything about game design and think everything is ok with DayZ's balance. Get a life. [/quote'] Getting angry isn't going to make your opinions valid. In fact, it's just going to make you look like as much of a dickhead as the alleged "hardcore dipshits" you're so upset about. P.S. "Get a life" isn't a very powerful stab from behind a computer screen. Tell me again, what is it that you're crying on your keyboard over? Oh yeah, "a damn game." gg n00b go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure lololol

    People! stop being paranoid!

The first few times you play, you are inclined to be nice to people and help other survivors. But there comes a point when you're killed and in turn that makes you paranoid and afraid that this incident will repeat itself, and thus you become paranoid and begin to kill others who then turn around and do the same thing. Like a chain reaction, man. If weapons were more readily available' date=' it makes people will ill intent more able to run around the coast killing new spawns and thus making the game more difficult to play for non-player killers. That problem was obviously present when everyone still spawned with Makarovs, so in the recent update(s) players were only given enough to survive just long enough to find a city rather than to survive an entire day. Also your name is [b']PK (Player Killer, for those who don't know) Richie, so it's no surprise that everyone else has been killing you.
