Third person does a much better job of giving the player realistic human awareness, despite it giving you a raised camera. -- Much better than the awful "horse-blinders" style of seeing that first person gives, anyway. -
Honestly, that's one of the funnier bugs in this game.

You can break aggro by moving through buildings, going up hills, running into forests, etc... It's not that bad, you're just complaining because you've had a couple of bad experiences. You'll adapt and overcome.

Have you ever tried drinking from rain in real life? It's not like opening your mouth in front of the shower head. And acid rain isn't nearly as corrosive as everyone in this thread apparently thinks it is. This isn't Vjun (The planet in Star Wars where it always rains liquid that literally tears apart your skin.), your skin doesn't melt from acid rain if you get caught in it. -
These "opt-in for PvP" suggestions are completely counter intuitive to the entire design of DayZ, despite the game not being fully created with PvP in mind. I disagree with this suggestion. And also, for further reference, use the suggestions forum for suggesting changes to the game.

I started playing with 1.7.1.5 and I haven't had any issues in learning the ropes and playing -- and no, I am not a "hardcore" gamer who calls everyone a "carebear" or "CoD kiddie." You get used to it: Adapt and overcome. -

I don't think there are enough of us writers on here to make a subforum feasible, but you can post your stories in the general discussion forum. I actually just recently posted a story, but it didn't get much feedback. Even if there were enough writers to constitute a subforum, I don't think there are very many people here interested in reading them sadly. -

While writing it I thought about having the main character extrapolate on his reasoning behind beginning to kill people, but I felt what is unsaid might serve better than the stated. I think the intended message here is that the protagonist couldn't really tell you why he does what he does, it's just a matter of fact that he can't change. From a realistic, non-literary standpoint, he probably just started killing due to being thrust into a strange psychotic condition in lieu of everything in existence crumbling and being dramatically reshaped overnight.

SystemiK I'm really glad that you've done such extensive research on this. I have a friend who suffers from this crippling slowness and it has really deterred him from playing the game due to his reduced movement speed. I'll ask if he can submit a bug report as well so that this can gain some more attention, as it's a really unfortunate bug for those that are stuck with it. -

However, it is necessary to loot either of these cities before embarking northward for certain essentials to get by in the forest, such as (but not limited to) a weapon for hunting, a hunting knife for gutting, a hatchet for cutting wood, a box of matches for lighting a fire, etc. etc. Don't forget that! -
DayZ is set apart from other RPGs because it is completely devoid of friendly NPCs. I like that. Also to the guy above who didn't like the cheekiness of Fallout, you must hate a lot of current games that are buying into the satirical '30s-'60s style of media presentation. (i.e. BioShock, Fallout, countless indie games, etc.)
