See that's where we seem to split on here. Some have leaned towards that this is a PvP Primary game where I believe that element is secondary. I think that divide will probably stay though and as long as it does there will be conflict. Where my comments that you so craft-fully paraphrased lay are that there is already several other games out there if you want the PvP Primary. For those of use that want the Survival side to be first and for most there's not so much. Which is why this mod is so wonderfully. Now you misunderstand thinking I want to tell the PvP nuts to wank off somewhere else. That wasn't my intention at all, but such is the lackings of the internet and how someone reads your written words. -

Man I just keep shaking my head, ringing my hands, and just worried as hell in general. Key word there. Firefight. Why are features in this Apocalypse Survival game being dictated by a group of folks that should just be playing the Black Ops Zombie map? Yes I whole heartily agree that the player v. player threat is and always should be a part of this game. In any truly good zombie survival situation there's always that hesitation when running across other survivors. There's even that crazy guy that's fallen in love with the end of the world and sits up in a tower shooting anything that moves. I mean that's what brought me here. Zombies!!! And I am damn sure that's what brought a lot of others, but all I can see is us heading down a road that turns this into another shooter that the devs decided to throw some walking dead in for the shits and giggles of it. To hell with that. Several of those games already exist. Are we playing them now? Considering we're here discussing this venture into the theme I would say, not so much. Who gives a rats ass if someone DC's. Complaining that you didn't get the KILL? Seriously? Now using the exploit to gain an advantage such as easier looting or positioning yourself to kill more players? Yeah, that's definitely an issue that needs to be addressed. Though implementing some timer so you can go ahead and get your precious kill is nonsense. Wrong game. Now I could see a timer being used to help fix one of the two I mentioned or something similar. Let us just make sure we're addressing the issues for the right reasons that follow faithfully the spirit of the mod. Or least what I hope is. Edit: Oh now I am loving the sleeping bag Idea. Now that's something I could easily wrap my head around. I've always viewed myself and others as "sleeping' when I am logged out. You maybe even able to push that Idea a little further and only allow changes/saves to character upon rest. You could also create zones where the sleeping bag could not be diploid and logging out there would reset your character to the last successful save or maybe even all the way back to the beginning. It would suck for those that had crappy connections though. -

Ah, but who's bitching and moaning. As I said, I am just stating a truth. I'm sure that I have been breathing on this life longer than you too kiddo. Sorry for the kiddo, but either you can not read well or you're one of the ones than lends himself just to camping on a hill waiting for some one to cross your sites. No matter which way it announces your adolescences quite well. I actually love the PvP, but PvP and shooting fish in a barrel are too very different things. -

So I am reading these post and there just seems to be the same old reoccurring theme. "I shot this player" here and then an "I shot this player" there. Welcome to the evolution of your game DayZ modders and gamers. Seriously, just browse 90% of the post across the whole of these forums. The bad thing is, it's not really a challenging FPS type of game. Most of the people so proud of their Player kills are just pussy snipers not capable of making it in a more competitive FPS. You don't even have to be super accurate in this game like most others. Man I was so excited for a really good Zombie Apocalypse survival game that wasn't a spray and pray fest and offered more than just a co-op experience, but it's not turning into that. It's actually kind of splitting off into two games. You have one game where Zombie enthusiast try their best to have a more realistic survival experience and then the group that get their epeens stroked by a counter total. Hey man now wait, I know I fired a few shots across your bows. Oh no he said pussy and epeen. Must enrage flame defend peter size. Yeah yeah kiddies. I'm not even saying it's a bad thing. Just more making a point towards the truth. Don't just try and think your the shit cause you shot a guy with a anti-material rifle from 800m away. This whole thread is a rage towards a symptom. "People disconnecting to avoid death" is not THE problem. I't a symptom of the problem. Maybe if the people rolling with the pink/purple tags here removed all counts of murders in game and out, hmmm funny, you might see some of these symptoms degrade and lessen. So there it is. Return fire. -

Hopefully in Beta you abandon these resets of fences, tents, vehicles, so forth... It really KILLS the rpg element. So what someone left something out in the middle of nowhere. You have to find it somewhere. You just prefer it to be more predictable? No thank you. We found a Bus in the middle of the woods the other day near the NWAF with all kinds of gear in it. That was 100000000000% more exciting than find something in the same old spawn point. It was night. We had to stalk it. Camp it. Make sure no one was returning from a airfield run. (It's a bus ffs, we figured it was a pretty good size group of folks, more suspense). Traveled for refuel. Then spent 2 hours getting to a place we felt safe about. Hell if anything I would rather see the map sized x4 and tents be able to be removed by anyone. Please GOD don't let this turn into just another shooter. -

Lovely... No wonder my !5! full tents loaded with extra food, ammo, weapons, car parts, medical supplies, kitchen sinks.... and so forth... Are gone now... Seems some one left a monkey wrench in their place... Thanks a bunch... -

Glad I kept reading before I posted again. I can understand some people being intelligent enough to figure some things out without first hand knowledge, but when someone tells you they have first hand knowledge it's usually good to listen. Thank you Mallory for heading that one off for me and for those others reading, a good portion of other silenced weapons function just the same. The is absolutely no need for the special ammo used buy most weapons in this game short some of the truly high powered sniper rifles. The 223 M16 also does not need a lower gain cartridge. If you want to make the weapon special, just make their spawn less frequent. Not crazy make believe ammunition. -

Thanks man... As an 8 year veteran I have been trying to tell some folks that I play regularly with about this and none seem to really believe me. I'm not one to usually brow beat so I just dropped the issue quickly. I find several little inaccurate nooks that bug me. Another thing I would like to do is hang my military flash light to my LBV and us it hands free like I use to, but hay, I'm shitting in one hand right? lulz... -

Honestly love this Mod. I have been playing since 1.6. A few curve balls here and there have had me pulling my hair out and throwing my razor mouse with an immediate look of grief there after, but... still playing, still loving the time. Server hopping? Do it all the time. Crappy servers here and there, switching for friends, and just in general avoiding douche bags. Do I like the element of other people being a threat as well? HELL YES. I like the dog eat dog aspect. Do I think there's some kids out there ruining the experience for a good deal of people? A BIGGER HELL YES. Honestly Rocket. I think that is an issue you should address before all others at this point. Bring back the humanity and the skin switch. Throw in a few more things like after so many murders the loss of the ability to communicate, the need to feed more often, the ability to only use an ACU Pack or lower, etc..... I see fan boy tears from this, but if you are going to adopt the bandit lifestyle then you must completely adopt it. I would love to see fortifications beefed up, but the problem with this is all someone would have to do is got to another server, walk past the fortifications, and then just log back into the original server. So there's your issue with that. I've had to use the same tactics already to get into places the douche bags have put wire up around. Auto picked servers and the ability to join servers friends are on is a feature that would be nice in the future to dodge around some of these problems, but I don't see this happening unless your parent company gets involved and make a stand alone game. Just a few things said. Have more but gotta bounce.
