  1. Ok, I don't have a bad computer, but a decent laptop. I run the original game, ArmA 2:OA on very high settings most of the time. 40-50 FPS. even in multiplayer. On Day Z, I get 5-20 FPS. for no reason at all. Please fix this. I don't think it's an issue with the game, more like an issue with the servers, as some are much better than others. I didn't think I should fill out a format for this because it is an issue that happens on almost every server, every time I play. It would be easier for me to list the servers that do give me good frames. Thanks for any help. P.S. don't tell me it's the computers problem, because I can run ArmA 2 on Ultra settings on other multiplayer servers. I have a Quad Core Toshiba laptop with a Radeon HD graphics card. A6 processor.
  2. I agree that the Russians are over-used in gaming, but the story-line of ArmA 2 was made before most of the Russian hype. Anyways, Chenarus was in the middle of a civil war. The US came in to stop it (If you had actually played the campaign.) I see what you are saying, but I wish to correct you. Also, The War Z is nowhere near where Day Z is going. I can't wait for Day Z stand-alone, where the engine will be perfected enough to actually play and add new content. Show me one game play video of the War Z. Actual game play. And the "Teaser" doesn't count.
  3. Ah! thanks for the information. I hadn't searched up the different calibers for every single AK series rifle, but I will add it in that it is the same as the SVD. You have my upvot- i mean... beans. beans everywhere.
  4. Not necessarily true. The hatchet and crowbar were added as weapons. If they can add melee weapons, it should not be that hard to design and code a new weapon into the game. If they want this to go stand-alone, Rocket and Co. have to step it up with new weapons.
  5. I have a short suggestion for a new/replacement weapon for Day Z. I say, either replace the Enfield with the Mosin Nagant, or add the Mosin in, and make the Enfield rarer. The Mosin Nagant is a very common rifle in Russia. In today's market, lot's of army surplus stores sell them close to $120. They are reliable, and take 7.62x54R caliber ammunition. This is the same ammunition that the SVD uses. If this gun were somehow added into the game, I think that the ammo would be similar to the M24 magazines. You could "Convert" a 10 round SVD magazine into 2 Mosin Nagant clips (they have a five round internal magazine). I would also recommend that the version of the gun implemented would be the M91/30, as it is one of the cheapest and most common models. Some more information about these guns for, if implemented, more authenticity. The .303 Lee-Enfield (.303 is the same caliber as the 1895 Winchester.) was designed to replace the Lee-Metford rifle in 1888. However, the Lee-Enfield is no longer in service by the British Military. It is still used by the Indian Police, as well as other common-wealth nations. It was replaced with the L1A1 SLR. The L1A1 was soon replaced in mid-1980's with the SA80, or as you know it, the L85. If the Enfield was kept in the game, the rounds should be inter-changeable with the Winchester rifle. That being said, I appreciate the comments that will be made on this post. I had used the search engine to find other posts about the Mosin Nagant being added, but I didn't want to bury this long paragraph under someone's half-thought attempt to add it to the game. Also, the wiki links are there for your enjoyment, but as I know, most of you will not click on them, because I listed almost every fact about these guns in the paragraph with the links. Thanks! -Skaterkidd92
  6. Looking for help with my computer on running Day Z. Okay, I have a Toshiba laptop. I got it last Christmas. I can run ArmA 2 : OA (Single player) at about 50 FPS. I can run multiplayer servers at about 40 FPS. and Day Z servers at about 5 - 20 FPS depending where I am. I am doing these tests on normal settings. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L750D Processor: AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.40 GHz. Here is my DirectX Diagnostic. (Display) Name: AMD Radeon HD 6520G Chip Type: ATI display adapter (0x9647) Approx. Total Memory: 2025 (I have 4 gigs of RAM, not sure why it says there's only 2.) Current Display Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) I'm also running Windows 7 64 bit. (Not sure why it says my monitor is 32 bit.) And it's a generic PnP monitor. (this computer is a quad-core as well.) Driver model: WDDM 1.1 (for the AMD Radeon HD 6520G) The driver version is 8.911.6.0 Currently, if there has been an update to my graphics driver since November 2011, Toshiba won't let me have it. I cannot install AMD Catalyst Control center on my computer due to compatibility issues with Toshiba hardware. Additional details: I have already set the GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; in my config, and set graphics settings accordingly. Sometimes, I can barely run Day Z on very low settings. I have video memory set to default too. I have noticed it is better on some servers than others, and it really lags when I walk into cities. I run other high-end games such as Red Orchestra 2, Just Cause 2, Portal, TF2, HL2, Spec-Ops the line, CoD series, indie games, Minecraft (With GLSL shaders/shadows) -etc, at high settings. Thank anyone ahead of time. I really want to play this mod with my friends, but It's not helping with the low frames that i'm getting. I tried to give all the facts about my system and settings that would be the cause of this issue.

    False advertising? Needs fixed.

Yeah, that's what I'm mainly getting at. New players probably won't be as aware of all the bugs when they go out and spend 30$ so they can own the game this mod runs on.
  8. Persistent Server - Fed up of spending so many hours working towards a goal or finding supplies and then the server crashes on you losing all your progress? Well with the DayZ server all stat's are saved to our external database so where ever you log off, whatever you have will be keep on you next time you come back in. This means you can spend however long you want doing what you want to do. As long as you don't die during the night! Found at http://dayzmod.com/?About Needs to be fixed. I always loose hours of work to server restarts. I loose my entire inventory, usually vehicles. Always tents. They sometimes come back... if the server restarts quickly enough. mostly though, I just loose everything. It is NOT saved to an external database. or not saved quick enough.
  9. I'm giving in-put to help develop the mod from it's current state. This would help fix a lot of the issues I have encountered in this Alpha stage.
  10. Ok, so after ArmA 2:OA nerfed weaons, Day Z should have updated the blood system to accommodate for that. I think this would be the best new feature, as to helping with having to put 6 rounds from a makarov into someone's head, and 3-4 shots into a zombie. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, AS IT IS RENDERING THE MOD UN-PLAYABLE. I waste so much ammunition on players and zombies. I turn the corner, see a player, pump an entire mag into him from an 1911, and then he drops. That's another issue that needs fixed. Death times need to be more immediate, so the player can't fire an accurate shot with 6 holes in his head.
  11. Ok, I am looking at buying a new computer for playing Day Z/ArmA 3 when it comes out. playing BF3 would be nice too. I have 2 selections currently. http://www.amazon.co...words=gaming PC http://www.amazon.co...dp_ob_title_def Also, I would build a PC, but I have no idea how to put one together. My budget is $500-$600 I'd get anything on this page http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1344200376 Thanks for helping. By no idea how to put one together, I have no idea what parts to get. I have tried to assemble one on A PC builder website, but all I know is that I want a quad core processor, Nvidia 550 Ti GPU, 750 PSU, 64 GB solid state, and 500 GB storage. No clue what motherboard to get or CPU. Help?

Yes, I will never buy a PC from a company, as currently, Toshiba won't let me update my graphics drivers OR use AMD catylyst control center JUST so I have to buy a new laptop to update.. -,-. well I went on a PC builder website and I came up with Ok CPU: http://pcpartpicker....u-hdz965fbgmbox Motherboard: http://pcpartpicker....oard-m4n98tdevo Hard Drive: http://pcpartpicker....ive-st1000vx000 Storage: http://pcpartpicker....ive-st1000vx000 Video Card: http://pcpartpicker....ard-gvn550oc1gi (Are the different priced versions of the 550 TI by different companies better? or are they the same?) Power Supply: http://pcpartpicker....ly-cmpsu750txv2 Optical Drive: http://pcpartpicker....drive-ad7280s0b Case: http://pcpartpicker....se-threehundred Memory: http://pcpartpicker....z4gx3m1a1600c9b (X2) Overall, with shipping it is $787.43 That would add to the price. As well as buying a monitor. (I have a 70in. TV but I'd rather keep my computer in my room, so a 20 inch is fine for me.
