Please Make Console Tourist Maps Editable
Former Echo Trooper replied to tahuki's topic in Suggestions
They’d have to add a pen, pencil or marker. But yeah, great idea. Plus finding someone else’s map with all the caches and bases marked. Freaking gold mine. -
Major changes to gunplay are necessary. De-console-ify the game for PC, NOW!
Former Echo Trooper replied to Buakaw's topic in Suggestions
I agree. The reduction is way too much. It should, realistically, depend on character stance and stamina level. A character that is in the lower end of the stamina bar, is breathing heavy, would have way more sway (even while holding their breath) than one that has been prone and has a full stamina bar. There’s a reason why real world sniper shoot from prone instead of fully standing. The human body naturally sways when you change the center of gravity, like you do when you shoulder a gun or wear a full pack. -
This should definitely happen. There are several mods on pc that would fit on console without crashing it. They’d be easy to port over if only we had the option.

I love this idea. In the same vein, the addition of burnt/burning infected would fit in too. Covered in aviation fuel, all clothing is ruined, everything else on them is badly damaged.

1..Yes please. Also a backpack similar to the hunting backpack would be feasible. Another idea would be to use wool blankets or quilts if they were added to the game. 3..The issue is that the flare guns are civilian. They have short flight times IRL. A fix would be to introduce military parachute flares. Twice the diameter of the road flare and about the same length. They’d be unstackable and a new animation would need to be added. Red, green and bright white could be the minimum colors. 5..Four words… Sawed off pump shotgun. Same stats as the sawed off double barrel but with two extra rounds. Plus retain the ability to add a pistol sight. 10..This one, I have to partially disagree. Only partially. A lunge attack is a stab wound. A single hole. Now you could add a staggered effect to it realistically, but you’re still only leaking from one hole. And as far as 100% hit, nah. Bayoneted rifles are blockable with other rifles or any two handed melee weapon. Now the addition damage change could come into play with a slash attack (power attack). Imagine the difference between a single stab hole versus a slash from collar bone to opposite hip, three to six inches deep. Would definitely be more than one bleed. Not to mention shock effect from blood loss. While one the subject of bayonets, they need to fit into the sheath. If the big gnarly hunting knife made from a wolfs jaw bone can fit…. 11..100% agree 16..Agree but would also like to see the hatchet being able to use the rope belt too 22..My biggest personal pet peeve in the game. 24..I mean, if I can open a can of peaches with a pick axe, a rock would work too. Another method could be to use a boulder or any concrete (road, building steps, etc.) and basically grind off the lid. This is a IRL survival method for opening cans. Obviously a new animation would be needed. Game play would be that it would take two or three times longer to open while making substantial noise. But on the plus side, the content loss would be minor. 25..This would work but a better option would be to introduce a mask pouch like the M17. IRL the M17 had an additional pouch on the back for the decontamination kit and antidote syringes. In game play, this pouch could a) take the belt slot with its attached belt b) attached to the outside of a pack. The additional pocket could be only capable of accepting the antidote, epinephrine, or morphine syringe. This is the western military version from around the games timeframe. Not sure of the eastern block version. 29..Yes please. While agreeing with the coughing and stamina reduction, needs the added effect of fluctuating vignette to simulate teary eyes and snotting nasal cavities. The shock effect I think is overkill for the M7A3 grenade. If it was CS from certain artillery rounds, that would be a different scenario. I also believe that the effect should last either A) ten minutes while slowly reducing the effects B) one minute outside during a rain storm C) washed off at a water source (lake, water pump, or teammate used a water bottle or canteen. 30..100% agree 37..100% agree 39..100% agree. While on the subject of spray paint. Why not allow us to paint packs, vests, plate carriers and helmets. Maybe introduce clothing dye to change the color of clothing and boot polish for well, boots. 40..HECK YEAH 43..100% agree 45..100% agree 47..100% agree 48..100% agree 49..100% agree. Introduce a pair of sheet metal shears and allow the resulting metal sheet to retain the original color from the car part. 50..Yes but increase the amount of logs, firewood, long sticks and short sticks depending on size of tree. 52..While agreeing with the vignette increase, use of the NVGs should automatically go into first person. 53..Partially agree. While agreeing that an increase in wildlife would make sense, they must be animals that are native to the game map. 54..Not sure if this is the tweak needed with these. Sounds a lot like Escape From Tarkov’s ability to stack packs. The ability to attach the containers to the outside of the pack, vests, or to the belt would increase their use.

Or implement a system like SCUM. Your PC gains or loses weight depending on calorie intake and energy expenditure.

Persistent Player Character Zombies
Former Echo Trooper replied to PoppaSlap YaFace's topic in Suggestions
Or only PCs who died of the infection, turn. I think it would be a cool add in. But the player would have to respawn as a random so he wouldn’t run into his zombie twin and break immersion. -
Add wire cutters instead of pliers. Rarer spawn.

Some other ideas for shotgun rounds. 1. Dragonsbreath. Basically buckshot but instead of lead, magnesium. Same range and damage but add burning effect and a bright flash at night. Been around since the early nineties or sooner. 2. Fletchette. Steel darts that are capable of piercing body armor. And has increased range over buck. Been around since the Vietnam war. Would basically negate worn body armor. 3. Door breacher rounds. Smaller shot than bird shot. Basically lead dust. Could only damage a player or infected at melee ranges. Used to breech doors and locks. Could be used for base raiding at lower numbers needed than buck.

Another idea on improvised fishing hooks would be to whittle a gorge hook out of a small stick with a knife. Like IRL.

Longhorn Suggestion
Former Echo Trooper replied to travihanson-26d4859a6cb43844's topic in Suggestions
This would be a cool addition. For example, having a twelve inch 22lr and a fourteen inch 12 gauge barrels along with the .308. Or a barrel for each of the pistol rounds. The Encore pistols are so versatile. Great idea. -
I know this is an older thread. Just want to put in my 2¢. Sleeping bags only as a heat buff. Must be used when logging out. When logging back in, if you were not logged out for a set amount of time, you only get the the buff. If you were logged out longer than the required time, you not only get the heat buff, but also all of your gear is dry. Your sleeping bag may be wet if it’s been raining unless you use the additional outer rain fly. The bag should also become worn like everything else and repairable.

The issue with your concern that shotguns are OP in early tier, is realism. A twelve gauge shooting buckshot IRL is op. The current nerf for that is the rubber shells that spawn more frequently than buck or slugs. A more realistic nerf that would increase QOL is to introduce birdshot or target loads. Smaller shot, just as lethal at close range but damage drops off quickly. IRL the twelve gauge shotgun has the biggest variety of shells to choose from than any other caliber or gun on the planet. The game including the three that it does, make that statement true there too.

The one cheater I’ve encountered so far, found all of my buried stashes, deep in the woods. I just happened to be returning and saw him floating around with his body clipped into the ground. Not sure if he was glitching or hacking. When I checked his corpse, he still had his fresh spawn loot plus gear from my stashes. I wish I had saved a video clip of it at the time. I had just got my PS5 and was still learning it.

Root Cellars as a middle ground between buried stashes and bases
Former Echo Trooper replied to Ethan Beaty's topic in Suggestions
I like the idea. They’d have to be static though. Any peaceable ones would require a large overhaul of the game. It’s doable, just look at 7days to die. -
Why don’t Christmas light actually give off light?
Former Echo Trooper replied to Tommygunz89's topic in Suggestions
Or have two versions. Version one runs on a 9v battery and gives off minimal light and V2 runs off the ginny and lights up like the gas lantern. -
A couple piggyback ideas. 1. Ability to cut up military uniforms and craft camo helmet covers, bandannas, strips for a gillie suit in place of burlap (or in combination with). 2. With the addition of the M79 in patch 1.18, the need for a grenadier vest is warranted.

Been playing for a few months now and have a few suggestions. I apologize if I’m repeating anyone else’s. 1.Reskin the jerry can tan, olive drab, or blue for a water can. The description could also state that it’s made from ABS plastic. We used the tan and OD in the army. 2. Allow the addition of the knife sheath, canteen and an additional mag pouch to the back of the plate carrier. This would negate the use of a backpack. Again just like IRL. 3. Allow the camp hatchet to work as a throwing weapon, along with the combat knife, hunting knife, cleaver and bayonets. On the subject of bayonets, allow them to use the sheath. 4. Reskin a couple different sizes of backpacks as medical backpacks. Have them color match the EMT suit. Include at least one tactical one for combat medics. Some of the medical infected could spawn with one that’s partially filled with first aid supplies. 5. Have some of the military infected spawn with weapons on the shoulder or in a backpack. Include some of the following, an extra mag, ammo, canteen, canned food, grenades, gun cleaning kit, etc. I have other suggestions but will stop here for now. Any criticisms are welcome.
