Problem solved: Turns out I had not run Arma 2:OA in Steam yet and that was preventing successful launch through DayzLauncher.

Completed:http://forums.dayzga...o-update-kicks/ Downloaded the latest files (http://www.battleye.com/downloads/[1] ) for Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA and placed into BattlEye folders. Followed some guides. Still getting BattlEye initialization failed. Tried with Firewall disabled with no change. Restarted with Firewall disabled, no change. All relevant files are set to run as Administrator.

holy crap, that's it? I'm getting one as soon as I can get a response/permission from Dayz team

some bugs to report, mirroring post in bug reporting: The server I am on items are persisting once dropped for a day+ boats count as swimming apparently? and will drop your temp to 30. the atv's bounce even after exiting them until they crash. maps are shared somehow? I get notes from other people on my map which could lead to some interesting engagements... after you get gps, your character data acts as if it has gps even when it doesn't

I didn't have a way to document this, but felt i should give a heads up that admin is doing irregular resets that seem to be tied to vehicle loss statements.

I have recovered 2 characters. There is a TON of misinformation out there. Follow these steps. Don't bother attempting without a compass, just respawn. Make sure you have something good to watch because it will possibly take 2 hours. update fully. Join a 1.7.1.0 server. Ignore warning messages. I did both my characters on Chicago 32. Servers will update, so this must be done VERY soon. run SE until you see map. Log out once you reach map and join an updated server. If you attempt this on a current server you will starve/ die of thirst.

This does not work for me. I am still out in the debug wilderness
