Is there a way to open containers like the medic bag or protective case while it is in your inventory so you can then take something to hand. The only way I can seem to see whats inside is to take the container to hand, or drop it on the ground to get something out of it.

If I throw a bag down during combat, how long is it untill it and everything inside despawns?
