    Svetloyarsk, it's got to be here

    I've had this theory too since the patchnotes. Always found it strange that people referred to Guba as a town, as it's never been one. I'm looking forward seeing the city of Svetloyarsk, will be crowded in the beginning though, but all the more fun will be had. Also beans to twingunz for finding possible future camp, will have to check that out someday :beans: :beans:

    Pistol vs. Revolver, which is best?

    For reasons of being super cool, or if you just want to imitate Rick from the Walking Dead - Magnum. Also superior damage. For survival I would go for the .45 though.. If only just for the 9 more shots you can fire without reloading relative to the .357. Also less zeds will come lurking about using the quieter FNX. If I find a magazine, it's always the FNX for me, untill then - Magnum. I don't really use handguns when I'm full geared though, will always try to walk around with a Mosin on back and M4 in hands in town (other way around crossing country), usually takes some time to find both of them though.

    Noobie question (warning)

    Easiest way I know; 1. Download Steam 2. Create Steam account if you don't have one already 3. Buy the game on Steam (using PayPal/creditcard or whatever) 4. Download game 5. Install game 6. Play game! Have fun in Chernarus if all succeeds! Edit; posting in this topic made me realize I actually don't know if you can even get the game without steam. Ah well, Steam is great even without DayZ so don't really care either way.
  5. Isn't Guba the name of that bay area of the sea? In the map I use the name is placed in that body of water while with every other coastal town the name is positioned more land inward. My theory is the town that now often gets called Guba (which now in fact is a nameless group of buildings facing a bay called Guba) gets expanded and becomes Svetloyarsk, it seems the roads there are mapped for a larger city/town anyway. Other possibilites for me are the area north-east of Guba or that it gets centered around the supermarket west of Kamenka, seems the only 2 spaces big enough to realistically hold a reasonable sized town with harbor. But who knows, maybe they have reshapen a whole part of the map.

    Changing/inconsistent bloodtypes

    I think it should stay different each character, your new guy isn't your old characters long lost twin or something so it wouldn't really make sense that all your characters have the same type, you're just starting on a new person. Also it would make blood type testing kits redundant for people who had the luck to find them once on a character.
  7. As the rest of your questions has been answered; 4th question: 1. Combine the gas canister and the portable stove/cooker. 2. Put combined object on ground 3. Have matches in inventory (not sure if this is required, as no matches would dissappear after starting it) 4. Look at cooker 5. Wait untill "turn on" option appears 6. Turn on 7. Cook your shit! Actually this is a joke, cookable food is not in the alpha yet AFAIK, but you cán already get as far as turning it on. It's usable as a fixed light point during night time. Also it is possible to place a cooking pot on it.

    3rd Person and KOS are connect

    Why does looking behind corners cause a KoS gamestyle? If you look behind corners with Q or E in 1PP and see someone who doesn't see you, the KoSer will shoot him anyway, it doesn't matter if spotting the enemy is easy or hard, they kill anyway.

    3rd Person and KOS are connect

    This poll doesn't make any sense. KoS happens in 1st person perspective-only servers too you know. You're just talking about it being easier to spot someone in 3PP, which everybody already knows. In 1PP it's only easier to not see your opponent coming because of a narrower view... Really not getting the connection between 3PP and KoS. So my only logical reaction to this poll is just to not answer it, subjective answers anyone?

    Character not showing at home screen

    Hahah, will try that! Thanks. :P Meh lost my character due to the ''Unable to load character. A new one has been created" bug agáin, fucking annoying. So I guess I'm free to reïnstall anyway! And after that wait until they fix the character reset issues. Can't keep one for over 2 nights playing without losing it :(

    Two Questions before buying the game

    1. There are hackers around, but they're (in my personal experience) not a lot of them, I've clocked over 90 hours in this game and didn't encounter a single one personally but heard stories from people who did. And yes, ofcourse the developers will do everything they can against hacking. Be aware of bugs to which you cán lose your progress/character anyway, as an alpha it naturally isn't all that stable yet. 2. Well vehicles (or bases) are not (yet) in the alpha so if you're coming for that already, don't bother just yet. But it's definitely possible to have fun in 1 - 2 hours, just pick a crowded server and you will likely run into some unique player interactions. Some encounters may bring you more joy then others, but then that's just this game.

    First-Aid Kits disappearing

    Yes this has happened to me once aswell. Also when you have 2 FAK's in your backpack I always find 1 dissappearing after a relog (always meaning the 3 out of 3 times I actually acquired 2 FAK's).
  16. I'd take a couple more bandages just to be sure. I also álways have 1 bandage in my usable inventory (usually jacket) so I can get to them quick when I'm bleeding - you first have to open your FAK to get to it. It's just about shortening the time my character is losing blood. Also why is your axe in your backpack? Camouflage reasons? Agree with the people here on the food thing, it takes a long time to go from stuffed to ''I'm hungry''. No need to carry that much, I just have a few (1-3 backup food items and a canteen). If you visit towns regularly you don't need any extra food in your backpack.

    Skalisty island hoppers

    Hi! So you honestly believe some server hopper is taking his time to loot Skalisty on EVERY server? I'm half expecting your just a troll but if you're not - just common sense would make you realize there is no one hopping Skalisty island. Who in their right mind would do that? Also, it's just completely impossible to loot ALL of the servers.

    Is server hopping the only way??

    I could easily imagine that with his technique, his character stays alive a LOT longer then when someone runs to any random airfield, loots his way to full pristine TTsKO with guns/ammo and gets shot while doing so. So for a survival simulator, he might be doing it a lot smarter then 'a fighter' does ;) DJPorterNZ, if I could connect to your server, I'd definitely have a chat and maybe have a look at your wares! :beans: Too bad I live in Europe.

    Adding more item with no extra server lag

    Above posters are correct, the server can handle a total of <insert random number> dynamic objects (Loot/Zombies/etc) on each server (it's somewhat explained by Rocket somewhere on the forums), with your solution the server would still have to hold the items somewhere in it's 'cache' (I am not a game-developer, just a webprogrammer so I can't be too sure on the terms). Easy explanation; the server doesn't have to handle the physical objects, it just sort of has to have the item information so it cán be rendered by your PC when you get close. I'm afraid the more items / zombies / whatever issue is one for the developers, they have to optimize server performance so they can handle a lot more objects later on.

    Player activated environment sounds

    Love the idea, I spent the first few hours of SA looking frantically around for people opening gates and walking against fences. I also agree they should be based on real events, twigs snapping only in woods / dense bushed area and when a player opens a gate / fence only a small chance at triggering the sound (not all gates/doors make noise when opened but you can never know).

    Drugs, drug addiction and cooking drugs

    You've been doing the wrong drugs! No just kidding, but there are performance optimizing drugs.. Look at a lot of professional athletes, *cough* Armstrong *cough*. Also I'd reckon snorting a line of speed would make you run really fast and not need food for a while or something, then after a couple of hours you would be worn out and miserable. But all things considered, I can imagine implementing drugs would cause some problems legalizing the game in certain conservative countries.
