I'd say just have it so the person that is dying can hear you, since if you're dying in real life you can still hear. Adds to realism.

My fifth or sixth life i ran straight into Elektro. I had a bunch of zombies on my ass. I ran aimlessly until I saw the grocery store. I ran straight in and shut the door, but I realized there was a survivor in there. I told him "Don't shoot, I'm friendly! I'm friendly!" to which he replied "Alright man, we're cool.". I asked him what he was doing and he said "I'm just waiting for my friend.". I simply said that I was looking for some food and ammo. I went into the back and found a map. I said to the stranger "Hey chill here, I'm going to run across the street and see if theres a Makarov mag in the hotel" and he said "Alright." I ran across the street, getting no aggro on zombies. I found 2 Makarov mags and an empty water bottle. I ran back into the grocery store, and he was in the same corner, doing nothing. I said "Hey man, I didn't find any ammo. Ill check in the store again." He said "Okay, my friend should be here soon, you can team up if you want." I agreed. He turned to face the door, and I unloaded 3 shots into his skull. I felt horrible. But that was my first player kill, and it was sweet... Oh so sweet..

Wait. Rocket releases patches that improve performance. On 1.7.1.4 i was at 10-15 in the open, then 1.7.1.5 came out and i had around 30.. Still low FPS in towns/cities though....

I just enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Killing zombies is fun, yes. But searching for items when you don't want to deal with them? Pretty annoying. I just like to find a barn, get a CZ 550 and wait on the outskirts of town killing people and taking their loot because I'm too lazy to search for it myself.

if you want to get up stairs: 1. Get to base of stairs 2. Press stand key 3. While getting up hold FORWARD facing the stairs 4. You will get up, and leap into a prone.

Other bandits. I killed 3 people on my way to Cherno. I was walking around in Cherno and I assume another bandit shot me.

Thanks, helped out a bit. Still lag like hell in towns and i get 5 fps in Cherno/Elektro. I go to these areas in single player and I get extremely high FPS so it has to be something with the mod...

Also, do you thnk Harddisk space has to do with the problem? I have a 225GB Harddrive with 40 left. Would that cause a problem?

I love DayZ. I want to play DayZ. However, currently I am unable to due to excruciatingly low FPS. I can run Chernarus on ArmA2 just fine, 120+FPS in a jet on max visibility, but when I try to play DayZ, I play on 500 distance and I STILL get 10-15 FPS. I set EVERY setting to low, low texture and model detail, no AA or anything, shadows off and etc. Still 10-15 FPS. I tinkered with the settings on my NVidia card, making it do "high performance" on the game, still 10-15FPS. So my question is, are there any performance increasing changes coming into the game? No info? None at all?
