  1. This is what I don't get. I joined one server once' date=' where I could somewhat see at night. Every other server I join is literally absolute pitch black. Can't see my character, lucky if I can see the night sky at all. I tried the gamma/brightness/hdr thing a couple times since I was sick of trying to find a decent ping server with daylight, but it didn't help at all. I've heard numerous people say the game is playable at night without adjusting settings, I don't see how this is possible? Is night just showing up differently for people? [/quote'] That sometimes happens to me too. Some servers are just pitch black and others are quite bright (for night standards). I guess ir has to do with the weather, if ther's a moon out, the ingame date as well i guess

    Moar Wepanz!

I'm all for more Russian civilian or surplus guns. And a crossbow with sights :D I see too many western military guns around. Firefights between people with crappier guns would involve way more maneuvering around for better positions.

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

I kinda failed there, then. I was convinced that it took up a few slots in the inventory, my bad. Still, the fences need a lot of work to be proper items, but that can also be said of a lot of other things. I don't agree with their removal from the game, since it adds the possibility of establishing semi-permanent camps, which is cool, but they need to be fixed, or the toolbox spawn chance to be slightly bigger, from rare to common, like the hunting knife. Meaning that the wire fences were more of a temporary solution and the sandbags a more permanent one, since the entrenching tool is rarer and is military.

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

It's just a matter of not making it permanent (destroy on logout), or getting a small tool (no need to drag a gigantic toolbox if you just want the wirecutter) to easily cut it and fix the bounding box for action detection (instead of that magic pole that exploiters manage to deploy inside walls or doors)

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

Weedmasta, I agree with you on that part, there should be a tool to help deny access to certain areas, exactly for the reasons you mentioned, the "corralling" of a force to a certain point of entry, but atm, there are a lot of bugs and exploits that need to be fixed before starting to consider the correct implementation of that gameplay mechanic. I know that this is still in alpha and it is in this stage that those kind of mechanics get tested. I'm just saying that, atm, the mechanic is way too flawed.

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

Its not about lazyness, it's about sillyness. It kinda reminds me of the invisible wall method usually employed in linear FPS to keep players from crossing a level boundary, and we all just love those (see MW3's Sierra Leone level)

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

It's the same principle. Just let players vault over that badboy and keep the zeds out

    QoL changes for Crossbow

Or a Red-dot type sight. Im not sure dayz's crossbow has bolt drop over distances. Or just slap some MBUS in that rail on top and get it over with. I've seen dudes sharpie a black dot on their monitors to aim that thing

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

How about if wire keeps the zeds out and players can traverse it by crouch-walking (not crouch-running), it represents the player carefully negotiating the barbwire. ( Like in the original prince of Persia with the spikes)

    QoL changes for Crossbow

I agree with the sights suggestion. Hell, real hunting crossbows are fitted with sights. (not a hunter or anything, just a top shot fan :P) I really like the crossbow, but on servers without crosshairs I end up shooting the first bolt above the zeds and spend 2 minutes looking for the bolt on some ceiling or tree. The stacking has to be really well thought out. If you stack too many bolts, it becomes a better weapon than the other cilivian ones. Stacks of 2 would be enough, or no stacking at all

    Hotfix Build 1.7.1.5 Rolling Update

I still have the same problem with performance, it's not as bad as it was before, but when fighting multiple zombies (around 5 or more) the FPS drop considerably

    How to take a hatchet?

It's bugged as of this later release. I'm having issues as well. If you look at the hotfix thread, there's all kind of reports there
  13. Same problem with the hatchet here. It's worth saying that I had both weapon slots occupied, although a lot of free space in the inventory and no watch or binoculars or any of that kind of items
