  1. I see alot of complaints about snipers, so the aim of this guide is to act as an equaliser against snipers. Here's my first tip and I consider it to be the most useful when facing off against a sniper, however it requires a semi-automatic weapon or automatic. Shoot at the sniper, it doesn't matter if you stand no chance of hitting them. Here is why, when a passing bullet is close to someone, it fatigues their aim causing their weapon to sway. Now not only have you made their weapon ineffective at sniping, you are now the one with the more effective weapon at range. In contrast, if you don't know where the sniper is, zig zag, at this point cover should be your priority. If the sniper has the drop on you, it's a good idea to flank around or leave the area as the sniper is just going to wait for more targets. If you have a buddy, use him/her as bait and pretend to loot an area (fire a gun to get the snipers attention too) while you check out popular sniper perches. This works wonders, the snipers attention is on the bait and you don't have to worry about being spotting while sneaking up. Finally, check for multiple snipers. It sucks killing a sniper then looting his corpse only to have another run right over and avenge the death. Feel free to add any personal tips you have.
  2. I, like many other players enjoy playing the fresh virgin servers, free of any de-syncs, fast loading times, ect ect. But after a while, you notice a trend, something beyond any players or admins control. The scum that we call "hackers", often prey on these fresh servers, although they are not restricted to any single server. It is becoming apparent that they flock to new servers, out of what ever spiteful reason just to ruin the servers reputations and give everyone playing no reason to stay on that server. Just a fellow warning to newcomers. New servers are prime targets for hackers and they take advantage of this.
  3. I knew there were 76 because in the official arma 2 game you can count your squad members when they are under your command by using the F11-F12 keys to scroll through them all when you have more than 10.
  4. No I was not banned however, from what I understand, BattleEye bans in waves. So therfore, if I get a global ban in the coming months, I will know what caused it. Not that I will have a leg to stand on. We all know how people treat people who claim "They never hacked." P.S the priests are still there in novy sobor. I can't take a screenshot because when ever I press PrtScn, it takes a screenshot of my desktop and not in game.
  5. This took place on server FR16 at approximately 4:00 - 4:30 GMT+0 I'm north of Stary Sobor looting the 2 deer stands across the open field when low and behold 76 priests spawn about 300m near me. So what's odd about these priests you ask? I have been given squad command abilities over them. At first, I think who do I have to thank for my small platoon of priests? I can't ask who did this, conveniently. Then it dawns on me. What if BattleEye bans me for this? Rejoining the server reliquished control over the priests but they are still there in Novy Sobor (I ran around with them for a while). TL;DR A kind hacker gives me control of a platoon on a dayz server.
  6. Occasionally, while crouching, my character will get up and run, even though my finger is still clearly holding down the shift key. This presents a problem when sneaking through towns/villages as my sneak bars will max out for a short period to no fault of my own. This can also happen when entering a building. So I am suggesting a delay be added to the sneak indicators to compensate for the bugs. Here's how it will work: character inadvertently gets up, a 3 second countdown begins before the sneak indicator rises, allowing the player to quickly crouch again without alerting the horde. The delay cannot occur more than once a minute to stop any abuse.
