Appeal to the developers regarding the next update 1.25
Dennis F replied to DRIPIKI's topic in General Discussion
The 2 biggest factors that cause lag in this game are #1, insufficient internet speed and #2, if playing on an older console (such as Xbox One S/X) and a third (and most likely) is Wi-Fi connection of your console. DayZ is an EXTREME data-hog game and there is so much data uploading/downloading when playing. Wi-Fi connections are not really meant for gaming or at the least, games of DayZ caliber. Wi-Fi is fine for small simple games, streaming video or surfing the web but really shouldn't be used for games that involve muli-player, fast reactions and character abilities - you CAN'T build a fire, repair clothing or some items/weapons, build bases, cut logs/planks in many "action" games like C.O.D., Ghost Recon or similar games... DayZ is a truly different game altogether and understanding that can help you play this game better and with fewer issues. -
Update 1.24 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
Dennis F replied to Kyiara's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
A few things I'd like to see added/changed on console and/or pc (I don't play pc often) ... First, why is it that when placing (NOT dropping) a refrigerator that this is the ONLY action that makes the character lay down to place... A little silly imo... Next, the ability to hip fire rifles, more specifically the automatic fire rifles... Absolutely ridiculous to have to aim everytime to fire... Sometimes we just need supressive fire to disengage/retreat just to keep the attacker(s) behind cover long enough to do so, should not have to aim all the time... Also, the ability to access our inventory or return fire when in a vehicle... ALL OTHER GAMES HAVE THIS ABILITY!!! Why can this NOT be done here - c'mon... -
Update 1.23 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
Dennis F replied to Kyiara's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
One of the known issues (if you read the release notes) is the 0x000200009 connect error... If that's what you're getting you're not alone, I've had same issue... Can't connect to ANY server on Experimental... -
Update 1.22 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)

Most killfeed bots offer exactly what you are looking for - even more if you have a paid subscription to that bot... What I would like to see is an integrated Admin panel in game for Server owners/Admins... There is NO WAY you can tell me it's not possible... If bots can access certain functions then there HAS TO BE A WAY it can be done from in game... Any answer in relation to "not possible" is b.s. and a flat out lie... Get better devs... -
Update 1.22 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
Dennis F replied to Kyiara's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
With certain accidents this is true, but not every death is caused by an accident..., most deaths while driving are the result of being shot and killed or bleeding out - which in these cases the foot would most likely remain on the gas pedal and the vehicle would indeed continue to drive until it hits something... And by the way, why does the sound for passing out play when a player is already prone or laying down? THAT makes no sense... You can't fall down if you're already laying down. -
Update 1.22 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)

In 'known issues' you post "- Vehicles will keep driving after the driver is killed"... Well, irl if someone is killed while driving, of course the vehicle will continue to travel until it hits something to stop it (unless the driver had stopped the vehicle first and kept their foot on the brake when killed)... If this game is supposed to mimic reality, why do you keep coming up with hair-brained changes that defy that? Seems as though this isn't an issue and should be left as is... Exception would be server restarts, the vehicle should stop at its last logged location upon a server restart - THAT is fair... If some players are crying that vehicles continue driving when they get killed (if said vehicle was in motion at the time the player was killed) they need to grow up do a little thinking on reality and physics - a car moving when a driver passes out or gets killed in real life will absolutely keep moving (driving) until something/someone stops it... Just seems like you guys are trying to break more things by trying to fix something that isn't broken... As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"... -
As stated this is a survival game... the goal is to survive as long as possible... this means that everything you do and everywhere you travel can have "unintended" consequences... I don't play official servers at all because the loot is ALWAYS difficult to find cuz there are an over abundance of players and loot gets raped quickly and to top it off, most loot respawns at server reset, food is a different story... community servers offer various ways to play from all pvp, to role play, to pve and also various loot counts such as 10x, 50x, 100x or more... some even go the opposite direction to make the game a little more chellenging for players who get tired of getting geared up within 5 minutes of fresh spawn and tripping over loot all over the place (if you have to play a boosted server to survive but find you constantntly die on a vanilla or less server, the problems isn't the game - the problem is you have little or no survival skills)... my servers reflect reality a little more than most others do and the players who play on mine and actually stay more than 10 minutes really appreciate the challenge... yes, most days there may be few players on the servers but many times we get quite a few, which creates more pvp chances for those who want it, but it all depends on the players and what they choose to do and interact with other players... I like DayZ because of several things, you don't run around with a tag over your head telling everyone who you are, unexpectedly coming across another player and not knowing what is going to happen if I decide to make contact with them... the ability to get sick/hurt through the actions/decision I make, being able to craft something I need, but mostly because the game makes me think before acting and if I am having a hard time finding things makes me think of other possible locations that I might find something I'm looking for... I really put a lot of thought into putting my servers together by removing some items that imo are useless or that most players don't use or want adding items to different locations or certain specific locations and try to keep the loot count more in line with reality... think of it this way - in a REAL event where society totally collapses and you have to survive on your own, what are the conditions you are going to encounter... these will be stores will be basically devoid of food and most items, factions/clans/gangs will be a REALITY and a threat and most will rob you of whatever you have and you'll be lucky if they let you live, you have to think of alternate locations where something might be if you really need it, GET OUT OF THE CITY as soon as you can because EVERYONE goes there for something and most times they are looking for someone like you (especially if you're geared up), you now have to use or learn basic survival skills to keep yourself alive, uninjured and not sick and you (should) learn from your mistakes whether you die or not... bottom line is this game is supposed to test your ability to survive, PERIOD... if you want side missions and other crap like xp to "level up" and what not, then find another game to play other than DayZ... the way DayZ is now is what makes it different and unique and sets it apart from other games... there is a MULTITUDE of games that offer what you're suggesting, each a little different from the other... leave DayZ as it is, my only complaint with this new update is the addition of the medieval crap - THAT is SO not in line with reality since those items are extremely rare but for museums or "period actors" and are not going to be found everywhere except for maybe crossbows, since those are becoming more popular with hunters... leave DayZ as it is as it is one of a very few "true" survival games out there

I am an owner of 2 servers (1 Chernarus and 1 Livonia) and experience the same issue that you do with players coming and going, but not necessarily to other games but to other servers that are either easier to play because of increased (boosted) loot, unlimited stamina and/or more pvp focused gameplay, etc. I make my servers a little harder to play and focus more on the reality side of the "idea" that DayZ brings. Do I blame them? No. We all have to take a break from the "monotony" that DayZ can bring, however, "special events" can keep players on ther server (or in the game) a little longer. I also play other games, not JUST DayZ and I get it. However, as I stated, DayZ is a survival game in a post apocolytic setting and in reality (as the game is supposedly based on and is supposed to represent) life in that kind of setting CAN become monotonous with small periods of Adrenalin pumping "OH SH**" moments, as I experienced yesterday while out looking for supplies.. apparently someone wanted my car and loot and started shooting at me as I drove past a small village. Made it out unscathed, but it was rather a little fun as I havent been ambushed in a while. THAT is supposed to be the game. It is up to the owner(s) and Admin team to come up with event ideas to keep players on their server, not necessarily the game. Those who leave the game are usually those that cannot figure out how to survive in a hostile environment that DayZ represents, not because its "monotonous".

No, absoluetly not... this is not a game like Dark Souls or Resident Evil. This is A SURVIVAL game, period.. the "story" here is to stay alive for as long as you can dealing with the various dangers that a post apocolyptic event would present - food, shelter, infected, other aggressive players/clans/factions, etc... adding ANYTHING such as a quest, boss or something that would take away from the survival aspect of this game would kill it completely... leave it as is, just fix the bugs and PLEASE stop breaking things when introducing new updates/fixes/patches... I find it incredibly difficult to believe that the majority of crap that gets broken with each new update cannot be prevented in the developement stage before putting any update 'live'... c'mon Bohemia, you CAN do better than this...

Console is not the only platform being updated... pc servers are also being updated and there are what, like 7 maps for pc?? So yes, those will be updated as well im sure... and they are adding the underground bunkers and keycard access doors to Livonia as well NOT JUST Humvees and fixes, as well as the new vehicle engine to name a couple other major changes...
-
According to the devs from the live stream a few weeks ago, no new maps for console are planned....
-
As of 1.18, the biggest issue I and MANY others are experiencing is the inability to access the inventory of certain items, such as barrels, cars, seachests... PLEASE PUT OUT A HOTFIX SOON!!! It's driving us nuts!!!
-
I believe they are available for PS servers as well....
-
Uhh... isn't that what killfeeds like Jeabers or Laws is for, among a few other features???
