  1. forcing people to stick together narrows the scope of this game i feel, why deter from the lone wolf persona that some people like to play on their character? i also don't understand how killing someone else is meant to effect my sanity people throughout the world seem to do it on a daily basis without any physiological or mental penalty be it; murder, civil unrest or war, not forgetting capital punishment.

    Well' date=' there needs to be some extreme perk to sticking with other players, because right now if you see someone, you basically have to either run away or kill them.

    I dunno about you guys, but if this actually happened, I doubt there would be nearly as much murdering going on in the real world.

    Maybe having the player die because of insanity is to much, but perhaps other penalties that would be more realistic, like shaking a lot and always being in panic mode, which causes you to attract zombies much easier.

    there currently is a massive perk to sticking with other people... you got more gun, carry space and can have defined rolls for each individual player and its especially useful when in voice comms.

  2. I think it s because the animation of Z aren't next gen visual ;)

    Maybe we don't imagine the real violence of those infected. They are enraged' date=' crazy and starving... yes you see the lil bite and the lil slash but I think the goal is for us to really be affraid of theim.

    They can't put thousand of z around you because of the engine, so they had to find a way to make us feel fear of theim... and it works for me.

    If tomorrow they make too small damages, nobody will give a damn of theim.

    Just imagine their really violent and when they hit you once in fact they hit and bit you 5 times in the most awfull savage way ;)

    even getting attacked in the most savage brutal way your not gonna lose this much blood it would require weaponry.

    for the purpose of balance initial damage could still remain, my suggestion was merely relating to the bleed effect. i didn't really make that apparent. the chance mechanic would would work with small groups, i was only really on about 1 zombie attacking a single character, if you had more than 1 zombie attacking a target then the chances would be significantly increased. it would be like rolling a 6 on a dice, you don't have a higher chance because the chance is still 1/6 no matter what dice you roll, but if you have more than one i.e. 4 you have 4 trys at rolling that 6, thus a higher overall chance of incurring a deadly injury.

    P.S with regards to the spelling and grammar, i am using a £5 keyboard from Tesco and most of the buttons are crap and stuck down with various food stuffs, meaning i have to jab the keys really hard to punctuate.

  3. The skill? How about the skill to operate a gun effectively? Seems like everyone in the game have that. Not to mention thay also know how to use stuff like bandages' date=' blood transfusions and morphine the correct way.

    all this knowledge is fairly basic, they give guns to children in Africa...

    first field dressing and the morphine injectors on this game are the ones used by military, that have very detailed explanations printed on the packaging. fair shout on the blood transfusions tho.

  4. hiya guys I've been playing Dayz for approximately 2 months now been inevitably lurking these forums for the same time,

    I would just like to raise the point of a few problems with the game that for me means you have gone overboard with the realism in some instances you've tried to be so realistic that it seems a little unrealistic;

    my first point is the bleed rates, the human body has approximately 10-14 pints of blood (i assume this is where the figure 12000 comes from) or about 5 liters but the human body can only lose about 40% until you die so lets put that into context:

    (5000/100x40)=2 liters of blood represents 12000 thousand blood points,

    on my previous game i was attacked by a single zombie and it caused a bleed of 200 per second so i would be right in assuming that 2000ml/12000=0.166

    therefor 1 blood point is worth 0.166m

    at a bleed of 200 a second that's 200x0.166=33ml a second

    This means a wound suffered by zombie is causing me to lose as much blood in 4 seconds as one those little coke cans you get on airlines "the ones your always disappointed at cos its not full size". That's a huge quantity of blood, I accept that getting shot with high velocity weapons would mess your day up, or a swift cross bow bolt to the face is gonna scar in the morning but i don't see how getting bashed about and bit of biting is gonna cause me to need a blood transfusion imminently.

    I assume the current system of bleeds is based on chance? could small bleeds not be implemented IE 1 blood point every second for 4 min that's 240 blood for a smack round the chops, that's like the equivalent of a small nose bleed about 39ml , up that to say a large bite to the forearm and so on, until reaching the lower chance based attacks IE a swift claw to the jugular.

    my second point is broken bones being suffered from zombie attacks;

    in the new update, with increased frequency, my character falls over, from whats seems to be complete clean breaks to his lower limbs.OK getting booted and ripped up by a mad undead freak is gonna hurt but have they suddenly developed herculean strength? My characters hip seems to be that of an 80 year old man.

    Due to the above two points i think that the addition of melee weapons is pointless what good is a hatchet gonna do be when its like going toe to toe with Bruce Lee.It seems i need a bandage every time i attack a target.

    "its a survival game deal with it,your not meant to go toe to toe"

    fair enough its a survival game i appreciate this and i am grateful for the hard work put into it by everyone that volunteers, i just think the balancing is a bit off, why is my character adept with an array of weapons yet has tissue paper flesh

    "Im a crack shot with a sniper rifle and can scalp a zedee from 800 meters but i have limited knowledge of first aid, whatcha gon do?"

    why is it when i get bit or smacked round the head a bit i suffer major arterial bleeds?

    once again this isn't a swipe or dig at the Devs like most a other posts, this is genuine suggestions with thought, reason and research behind them (albeit limited) but i looked most of these figures up with a quick Google and some use of my iPhone calculator, i really appreciate the Dev team has gone in for it to be realistic, course my guys gonna get hurt from a undead ambush, but i just think a little more logic could go behind the health mechanics.

    cheers guy.

    EDIT:i didn't notice someone had posted a brief description of blood mechanics already as this took me a while to write out and research.

    EDIT: My Grammar is bad and it was a huge block of text making it impossible read.
