lol don't deal with hacked weapons :P, everything I've got I've had to work for it and find it, after all I want to PLAY dayz not get banned from it. Gotta have my :beans: fix every day after all. Doubt you're the guy I killed anyways but here have some free beans. Sure let me just pull a heli out of my backpack here.... ;) I'm lucky if I keep a tractor for more than a day, let alone a heli lol. I was thinking of starting a trading thread but since it's only me I'd have no "security" *sigh* and in these days everyone wants an extra can of beans for free I tell ya. -
I've had both happen. A bus with some gear/loot in it along with an ATV disappeared after a server restart, along with everyone's vehicles on that server as the next restart brought a batch of all new freshly spawned vehicles at their spawn point, found a tractor and barely tapped a tree with it and it exploded and almost killed me. Next server restart I go back to where the exploded tractor was at and it's back to the state it was in before it exploded. Tents and vehicles are so very messed up and very unstable at the moment.

Actually I've noticed a few random spawns since 1.7.2.4 that aren't on the dayzdb site. One site same location, 3 days ago had an ATV after server restart, I repaired it took it to my camp, someone took it I assume and wrecked it or something, today a freshly spawned tractor was in the same spot (with the usual spawn items inside the gear slots) needing the repairs a freshly spawned tractor does. Seems there might have been something tweaked in the 1.7.2.4 code about vehicle spawns not sure though. -
Can't speak for vehicles (they seem to spawn with items now) but looking over the loot drops in the code source itself the only 2 LEGIT skins that drop in any LOOT pile is either camo or ghillie suit. Any other skin found at a loot pile/crash site is not legit. Like I said can't speak for vehicles with gear spawned in them, but as far as loot piles you find on the ground anywhere those are the only 2 legit skins.

Tents still duping/losing items 1.7.1.5

Yeah I posted a guide very similar to that in another thread about the tents not saving and how to tell if you've got a bugged tent or not. Right now it's really best not to put anything in it or just something like a tin can when you first put it up and save it until the server restarts, and just do like you said. Can't wait for tents to be fixed. -

So you shot me and I went unconscious and waited for you to come up and kill me which you did. I spawned near by got a gun and some ammo found you by you shooting at every infected near by, started shooting at you, you took cover and promptly aborted/alt-F4'ed showing your true colors and like the little pansy pussy you are. I can't wait until the whole Alt-F4/Abort thing is fixed so that way you will get shot and die the next time you try that. I hope you enjoy your loot while you can because I'm sure you will lose it soon enough. -

It's all good I went and took the GAZ he had left behind when he aborted/Alt-F4'ed out and the MK 48 Mod 0 he had stowed in the trunk ;). The whole point is it's ok for him to shoot and kill me but if anyone tries to shoot/kill him he will abort/alt-F4 out to avoid death. -
Server restart bug, when the server restarts if it gets restarted "too fast" IE: people join really quickly after it comes right back up it causes tents/vehicles not to load up for some reason. Happens from time to time on the home server I play on. Just have to wait until next server restart for them to reappear. As for your missing ATVs check the area around where you last saved them. I had mine show up a week later after it vanished after a server restart 200m from where I saved it.

This last patch was suppose to fix the issue (supposedly over a million tents now and the database is having issues with that, I guess they didn't plan ahead for it) but that was SUPPOSE to be fixed come 1.7.2.4 but it hasn't been fixed and the bug is still randomly affecting tents. I've found this method out - it's lengthy but is a good way to make sure you don't lose anything you want to keep: Pitch a tent Put something useless in it bandage what be it save tent 2-3 times to be sure Wait for server restart If tent is empty on server restart try another item YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT LOSING save tent 2-3 times - BUT if tent is NOT empty after server restart try adding another item YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT LOSING and save 2-3 times, sometimes tents bug out and will only keep what was first saved in them. Follow steps below. Wait for server restart If tent keeps item(s) you're good to put things in and save now - other wise tent is bugged and will not work. Lengthy process, yes but the only way I've found to make sure a tent is "stable". I have been lucky with vehicle storage so far though and I am starting to rely on it more than I am tents but since vehicles are prime targets it's a risk.

Plantronics Gamecom headset, no problems telling where gun shots coming from here. Also that damn bird flying by sound effect scares the crap out of me almost every time.

Tents will be back after next server restart. Happens on my home server from time to time after the daily restart the tents/vehicles will be gone until the next restart. Very annoying but eh what can ya do, the "it's alpha!!!!!" squad just jumps in at any bug report so why bother even reporting things anymore? Seems the major issues just go ignored or get bombarded by "it's alpah!!!!" posts. And I also agree with ya. The zombies when I first started playing were a threat because I didn't know how to handle them, now that I've been playing for a good bit every time I see a zombie I just sigh because I know it's no real threat which really takes the whole zombie/infected survival aspect of this game away and just makes it yet another FPS with zombies thrown in for the hell of it in its current state. -

Apparently people can't understand sarcasm about the HURR DURR thing, because every time someone posts something be it a bug or what not the whole "it's alpha!" gets tossed up. Yes I am a programmer and I also worked with databases and they can be a royal PITA if you don't have them setup correctly. If rocket says it can't be fixed in the MOD version well so be it but don't leave it in there if it isn't going to work. Take tents for example, while great for storage, they no longer work correctly and rocket said there is nothing he can do to fix them duping etc. so why even leave them in the mod if they are not going to work properly? I understand what the Alpha stage is, it's all about breaking things and fixing them, but until this game goes standalone and he has to deal with the limits of the arma 2 engine, there's not a lot of room for growth or bug fixes. Telling me to come back in a year is very mature, I love to play this mod even with all the bugs but I would also like to see more dev involvement with the community and all. DayZ has grown very popular and honestly a little bit more communication from the devs would be great. But the question still stands: why if rocket is limited by the arma 2 engine on certain things are they even in the game at this stage if he KNOWS they will be broken and not work correctly? Why not wait until the standalone alpha/beta to put them in and test them at that point? I understand he's doing this "to gather statistics" but that's all that seems to be done, the occasional tweak here and there for some things is done but no MAJOR bug fixes seem to be done. He can add all the content in the world he wants, but if the basics are still riddled with huge holes, what does all the rest of the content matter? Where am I store supplies if tents don't work right and won't save? I certainly can't carry around all the food/soda/ammo/meds I've collected and if I can't put them in a tent because 99.9% of the time the tent will just eat it? People wonder why this mod currently is a PvP fest, well as it stands right now with no way to store items safely, lack of any items to make secure bases (even if the items were rare) why should people even bother trying to survive? I mean yeah I've done it and lived in the woods for almost a whole month, but it got boring rather fast as the daily routine of hunt for heli crashes, try to help people to only get shot at, get supplies, go back to camp got rather dull pretty fast. The infected are not a challenge, gathering supplies is not a challenge, the only challenge right here and now is other players and that's it. I'm not telling rocket how to make his game, it's his damn game and he can make it however he wants, and no i don't think my 1 post is going to change anything, especially the way this community acts. -
True, but it still stands that the database end of the issue can be fixed, it's just a matter of how they have it setup/do they know how to run the correct DB commands to update it without affecting anyone and all that jazz. Just wish rocket could get a little more support and help with his project because I can see this going places but without some more hands on help especially having to handle ALL this data with just such a small team, it seems it's bound to end up in errors, even if they do a wipe, they said it was fixed in the last patch but it wasn't so what good would a wipe now do except cause the issue to happen again and probably a lot quicker than before? EDIT: What I'm saying is this isn't so much a code problem with the dayz server code (unless there is a bug in it too) as much as a database issue that can be resolved without having to issue a patch I do believe, but I honestly can't say like I said I have no idea how their database is setup or their code so I'm just going off guess work here.

Honestly I have no idea how to go about fixing it, since I don't know exactly how the server stores the information I can tell and since tents are server side are they even sent to the Hive database or are they stored locally on the server itself? Since tents are server based it would make more sense to me honestly to let the servers themselves handle the tent and vehicle inventory/locations rather than the hive database. Without knowing how exactly everything is saved I can't really give a solution. I mean databases can easily handle millions of items per table but how they have the database setup etc. plays a key role in it. I still have 2 or 3 tents that work properly saving wise, the rest don't save and I guess were after the 1 million mark. I mean I've worked with databases for jobs and programming etc. so I know having 1 thing setup wrong can cause everything to go wonky, but it shouldn't be hard to fix the database but like I said, I don't know how it's setup so I can't really say and I doubt rocket would let some random guy from the forum try and help fix the problem :P I would if I could and even do it for free but *shrugs* I've gotta leave up to rocket and his team.

Anything I use I have manually found at Heli crashes etc. anything that dupes just dumped on the ground when I pack the tent(s) causing the duping. It's annoying yes, does it mean I cheat because I have zomg 1337 gear? No, I've had to search for it and have been storing it up for awhile now. It's one of the only good things about playing solo, but the duping is crazy and honestly it gets to be a job just having to deal with it. I'm at the point now where until this is fixed I'm just going to leave the tents up with the gear in it, everything I've tried hasn't worked yet to prevent it so meh. If rocket says it can't be fixed with the mod version I guess we'll just have to live with it until this goes stand alone. I still would love to see tent saving FIXED though. Having your items be wiped on server restarts sucks.

Just got another PM from the person (it was a group of 3) and he said they didn't even see my direct communications chat even though I was well within direct comms distance. So definitely a bug.

True on this also. I would like to see the default channel when you join into the game default to DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS instead of group/vehicle. This can cause some confusion for newer players who are trying to use VON on direct but instead they are on group or vehicle and well we can't hear you on that channel. That's why I have a key bound for direct communications VON so just in case I'm on the wrong channel it still goes through direct comms but yeah I'd LOVE to see direct communications as the default channel when you join into the actual game, no need to be on any other channel as no one can see what you type/hear you anyways.

Ok my official 1.7.2.4 bug list regarding tents that I would LOVE to see fixed in this patch: They still duplicate, no matter how many times I pack them up they still reappear next server restart. Still not correctly saving their inventory. As a test put some items in a NEW tent, saved it a couple times and ran around for a bit before logging off. Server restart = empty tent. Still duplicating items inside them if you pack the tent and take it down, it will reappear next server restart will inventory it last had/ Same issues as 1.7.2.3 and below, still not fixed like stated in the 1.7.2.4 patch notes. Can we please get an actual working tent fix? This is getting annoying having to deal with all these tents that keep reappearing on me after I pack them up and want them gone from that location.

Really? Hmm I'll have to ask the server admin if he has it disabled, because I know it uses extra bandwidth but when people are trying to talk to you over it and in a tense situation and they expect you to respond via voice, kinda sucks. I was well within the 40m or so (I was like 10-15m away from the guy) when he said he was talking over von so it wasn't a distance issue.

Fix VON please. I died well early this morning technically while using direct communications chat to say I was friendly, got a PM from the person who killed me and said he was talking to me using the VON but I never heard him and he was waiting for me to respond using voice, but I never heard him so I never responded using voice and I've been seeing reports of other people saying the VON direct comms has been acting up lately. So can we get a fix for this please?

We need something. I was on my home server and it was 3 vs 1 (me being the 1) and I could have easily of head shot each one of their guys at least 2-3 times each, instead I slowly approached and was typing over direct comms that I was friendly and if they needed any supplies (I would have gladly given them anything they needed) I even put away my main gun and just had my pistol out, announced I was friendly and that I was coming up the stairs and if they could type in direct comms, well I see a guy coming down the stairs as I'm going up and he gets in a corner and just decides to cap me in the head. So yeah they missed out on getting all 3 of them equipped (playing solo = me hoarding tons of stuff lol) but I knew the risk and they probably thought I was lying and was out to kill them. Not crying over dying it's all part of the game, but hell even if they were bandits (didn't look like it, they didn't have hardly any good gear at all just your usual gathering stuff) they could of told me to piss off or something banditry like lol. At least I didn't chicken out and Abort/Alt-F4. Oh well brought a moment of excitement to my living in the woods life :P

Well yeah I mean they've run fast in the previous versions but this seemed even faster than before. Also can't WAIT to see what data rocket collects on alt-F4's. I was just at Factory getting car supplies on my new 2ndary "home" server (my main home server just updated to 1.7.2.4 a little bit ago so decided to have a 2ndary home server just in case, never hurts!) anyways there I am just crawled in the back way through by the pond, deciding which building to start looting first when I'm blinded by a flashlight sweeping over my area (NVGs + flashlight = me blind) and see another guy running around the area, He points his flashlight over me again blinding me again and I take shelter behind a building for a moment, but I caught a glimpse of him, Czech pack, looked to be winchester rifle, well all of a sudden his flashlight disappears and I type over direct that I'm friendly and won't shoot...no answer, go looking around and he aborted/alt-F4'ed out because he saw me. Wasn't even going to shoot him and he even had the jump on me if he wanted to shoot me!

Is it me or did this update make the zeds run FASTER than you can? I was heading out of a town, out of site of any zeds, bushes blocking the view back towards town (couldn't see any town buildings anymore due to the thickness of the bushes, was about 150m from the town at that point) out of no where I heard the zed screech as I'm standing up running (not crouch running), ear only 1 bar, visual 3-4 bars anyways I see this zed flying up through the bushes faster than I've seen zeds move in the past I was running trying to lose him but he was running a lot faster than me and was closing the gap FAST. It's almost like he was on warp speed or something but definitely running a lot faster than my char could. Wonder if this is intended to add more difficulty or just a bug in the zed behavior? Anyone else experience super fast zeds with this patch?
