I don't know much about DayZ modding, but I was wondering if there is a way to disable the toxic zones/the shelling they added in a few patches back, or possibly just make the toxic zones static in certain areas but completely remove the stupid shelling. My understanding would be its somewhere in the configs, but I'm not sure where to look except maybe the events.xml... Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Out of all the things that could and should possibly be added... a new female survivor? lol. Sad DayZ has no half decent counterpart, so anyone that wants to play an open world survival game with smiliar atmosphere is stuck with this crap. Nevermind that its neither a good survival game nor a good PvP game, and only even half good on modded servers that add a bunch of direly needed content and functions while reverting most of the newer big changes, like that stupid artillery strike crap/toxic zones or the changes to zombies etc. Also wondering what happened to that one intern that could finally be acquired to make a pretty bad animation for the stealth kills... is he/she gone again? Very sad. Maybe hire someone on fiver to get some decent animations done, I dunno... Probably too big of an investment for BI though, I guess

I've got like 1300h played in DayZ, of course not ruling out that I could improve my own gameplay somewhat, but even with for the most part knowing what you're doing its sometimes pretty random if you survive or not, which shouldn't be the case unless you're completely new to the game... IMHO anyway. Fruit seems to be pretty rare to find, cans often are too, fishing (as someone mentioned above) requires finding certain items first, as does hunting. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a half harvested garden plot or something, but still. I just think it would be a good addition to the survival element of the game. Maybe searching fallen trees for larvae too. Basically some of the things SCUM does better, even if I prefer DayZ. Sure all this can be fixed via mods, but it would be better if the vanilla game wasn't so lacking that to get the best out of it you're practically required to play on modded servers (that are more often than not ruined with mods like Unlimited Stamina, poorly done weapon mods, or are buggy etc.).

I don't understand what you're on about. Thought it was supposed to be a survival game, all that r*tarded KoS PvP crap and the apparent focus on it ruin it though. Doesn't even seem like its on purpose, just lazy (or cheap) game development. Also eating other players gives you an incurable disease, which shouldn't be the case when digging up worms (which is like one of the most basic survival skills/techniques, so weird it isn't implemented to begin with). Dunno how many times I've just starved because anything remotely edible was looted, animal spawns not there or in the process of repsawning etc.

I know this is meant as suggestion for vanilla but since the devs don't seem too interested in improving the survival elements of the game, shouldn't it be possible to add this back in via mod? Already thought about doing it but have no clue how. Would be enough if in desperate situations you could dig up some worms and then just barely make it until you find some decent food. I think thats one of the things SCUM does better, where you can search logs and stuff for maggots or whatever if you're desperate.

Long story short: I cut and pasted some coordinates from the Static Police Car event to spawn a different vehicle in their places, but now I randomly have piles of the police car loot spawning around the map. How do I fix that? I think I already added most of the coordinates back but still have that loot issue. Would appreciate any help.

Hi, I was trying to make the vehicles from this mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2428707135 spawn on my Livonia server, but somehow I'm lost on how to do that. Going by the files there are no seperate parts like doors/tires, which is cool, but the files to make them spawn as is seem to be missing too. Any advice?

yeah I should have checked before posting, quite a lot of files in there, might aswell just wait until all the "undesired" items despawn, or change the values for the lifetime of them to make it quicker (assuming that works). Do you know of any decent guides for the other .xml's by any chance? I'd like to change what loot new players start with for example, or the chances of particular items spawning, because while looking around I found that there's a set chance of certain items spawning in certain areas independently of what is set in the types.xml, at least if I'm understanding it correctly.

OK ty. so theoretically it should work the way I tried doing it, by simply deleting the lines that restrict the AK74 to tier3/4? If so it was something else I "broke" the types.xml with... Because I didn't add any new lines/values for the AK's. Also ty for the storage files info, was already wondering why the changes didn't seem to be taking effect. Can I just delete the storage files everytime I make changes or does that also wipe other things?

this is an old thread, but I was wondering if it was possible to change the tiers/locations of loot, not just their quantity? For example I want to get rid of the AKSU's spawning in tier0/tier1 areas, and replace them with AK74's. Tried simply setting quantity of the AKSU's to 0, changing the quantity of the AK74's to the AKSU's values, while also deleting the lines restricting the AK74's to tier3/tier4 areas, but that seems to have broken the types.xml.

Hi, I couldn't find anything here on it and neither in the files, but I saw a mod where someone changed the speed at which you sprint and was wondering if you couldn't do the same for the jogging speed aswell. Could someone tell me how to do it, or which file to edit? Ty.
