where to start? well there was a spell of optimism to be honest, I managed to get my hands on a Series X and in all fairness Dayz ran very well on it, not a massive jump in quality though but pleasantly surprised, that was until update 1.12!! what followed was (for me at least) a nightmare gaming experience with a game I really enjoy playing. Exhibit A/ game crashes and dashboarding was all but over for me until update 1.12, early days after game release was dodgy from time to time but hey we were all prepared to put up with a little of that while things developed, so to revert back to dashboarding after 10, 15, 30 mins of gameplay (it really does vary) was at best very very annoying. Exhibit B/ cars.... omg what is there to say, ok ok i can hear you all lol, yes cars have been sketchy and drive at your own risk for as long as we can remember right? but update 1.12? whole new story, under map, random levitating barrel rolls (a different perspective being seen by passengers in car) basically undrivable completely now as you never can tell when your Sarka is going to go full "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" on you. I play on official servers and also rent a community sever for RP and fun with friends, and all are affected. so to the fixes.... which there seems to be very few that will help, contacted Nitrado first just to see if there was a problem with my rented server, all seemed well but they moved it to another location just to be sure, so as an added cure i uninstalled and reinstalled the whole Dayz title, yeah nah didn't work, after an hour and a half of crashes and car antics we gave up trying to get to NWA from Cherno and we were only a quarter of the way there. unacceptable! reading through some threads here it of course seems this is a problem for others too, if you have any idea of anything else that can be done other than update 1.13 smh, post away. my connection seems pretty decent, 218 download, 28/30 upload zero packet loss, all checks on multiplayer and internet connection tick all the boxes so yea there it is, love playing Dayz but for how much longer i'll pay to do that? if these problems still persist when my next extend run time arrives then it'll be sayonara from me sadly.
