    Sound Problem

    Does your headset have any sound enhancement options like "7.1" or "surround sound"? Try turning them off just to see if it interferes with the game. Do you have any other different headphones/speakers to test? Anything at all?     There's still 15 days until the wipe. Your friend can go to Pavlovo and Rify more than handful of times until then. Few hours is all you need.

    Agreed that gunbash is too strong (or too fast). I think that maybe 2-3 gunbash hits should be required to make the player stagger, or slowing down the animation. That would require some testing to see how it plays out.

    Ok? You don't need to buy it then. I honestly don't want crossplay. Console limitations don't belong on PC (example: PS requires that player names are visible whenever they use voice chat, that's dumb).

    Indeed.Tried it already and to be honest, if they fix the bugs that occur because of it, it's going to be a very good change for the gameplay.

    I gave you an explanation why. They want players to go from 0 again. Livonia received major changes. Central loot economy received changes too (affects both Livonia and Chernarus) - now more items spawn damaged (scopes, cleaning kits, ammo, mags... basically everything can spawn damaged). Having geared players from the older patch with fully pristine everything would mess with the balance/first patch impressions.

    Not exactly a matter of space. Space is the least of the issues when wipes happen, could even say it's basically non-issue. Wipes tend to happen to refresh the game/balance, or because some newer patch breaks something crucial. There's also some performance uplift for a short while until servers start getting clogged up again, but I don't think it's anything due to size of storage. They don't want people to be fully geared on day 1 of the new Livonia update, so they are wiping characters too. They probably want to get more feedback from players who start from 0 because Livonia had some changes recently.

    Not really. You still had fun all this time. Nothing is stopping you from starting again and having more fun. DayZ is similar to life... materialistic things are just that, they come and go, but experiences last forever. Hope you stick around, maybe we meet in-game sometime.     uuuh... no? Escape From Tarkov, Rust, Path of Exile (to some extent, new seasons...), Diablo (new seasons?), Scum, ARK... Probably dozen more. Nothing is permanent in DayZ, never has been and probably never will be. Sorry to say this, but get over it. Global wipes aren't too common, but happen once or twice a year.

    Can you show some evidence that "textures are the same"? All I can see is that texture is similar, which is fine. It's a backpack that exists IRL. Obviously they will look very similar if they are based on the same thing. Since when? From what I know it's a very common occurence in the gaming industry. Battleroyale genre is your prime example of it. You really think all of those BR games were made because all the devs had a crazy unique idea (that they totally didn't hear about before) to make a BR game? Obviously not, they all copied off of one another.

    Same here, I've had Livonia for a year now but only played like 10 hours on it. Stoked to play it cause I like how green it is.

    True, and that's a huge issue. DayZ should be more intuitive, it's a survival game afterall. Intuition should be key. Currently it's only hard for new players because it's not intuitive. Wiki says stuff like: You can find rocks on gravel paths, so players walk on the paths finding no rocks. Why's that? Well it's because those rocks only spawn after few minutes if there's a player nearby *facepalm*. By the time the rocks spawn you could already find a sharp tool that will serve you better than DIY stone knife. Also, why can't we tear a shirt into rags with bare hands? At least one single rag that we can use, that would be nice and intuitive.

    Imagine a new player: He finds a stab vest, gets shot by a .308, goes uncon, dies. Next life he finds a plate carrier, loses like a quarter of his stamina due to weight and it's bright tan color isn't ideal, gets shot by a .308, goes uncon, dies. Is that balanced or intuitive progression? It's not if you ask me. I agree, plate needs a buff too along with all of my other suggestions. Press vest could serve as an in-between stab vest and plate carrier protection wise, slightly closer to plate but with less durability (and inability to be repaired)

    I'm not the guy who you quoted, but I'll reply with my take on it. Why does lowest tier armor do the same as plate carrier? Both are generally always uncon if you get shot by "best" snipers, and always almost results in death if they have a line of sight on you - plate being a bit better over distance. I think stab vest is too strong considering how common it is. Because in vanilla people wake up from uncon in like 5 seconds. So if you don't have a line of sight on them (for instance if they are in a building), they can get up and camp the doorway.

    They really need to bring it back though (or remove it altogether to make it fair game for everyone). It clearly still exists but it's linked to the overall quality, I don't think it has anything to do with consoles though. Consoles can't change settings so it really shouldn't be the reason why it got removed. Also servers can change render distance too.

    If you can run extreme at good frames, go for it. Otherwise it's all about increasing the settings as high as it goes while still offering good framerate in all scenarios - essentially balancing each setting to the highest value that doesn't kill your FPS. For example Extreme/High/Ultra (Hardware) AntiAliasing can kill your FPS, but extreme textures will probably make no changes to your FPS if you have enough VRAM. My suggestion for settings though, set the "overall quality" to max/extreme/ultra or whatever they call it, as it increases the render distance. Then lower the other settings if necessary. For some reason overall quality affects render distance, and you can't change it separately. And if you aren't sure if the setting is making any changes, then you can set it lower. If you don't notice it, it's not worth performance loss. But regarding your question, no. Extreme isn't for 4K. Extreme is noticeable on almost all resolutions to the essentially same extent. 4K textures aren't equal or only visible on 4K screen. That's a common misconception.

    So fix best sniper spawning in low tier areas. Move them deeper in the land. Exactly this. Maybe vest and the plates should have separate damaged values. Leather sewing kit for the plate vest, and protection repair specifically needs a new plate to replace the old one, but whatever they do I just hope they make it make some sense. Repairing armor with leather sewing kit or epoxy is funny.

    Thing is, realistic isn't good. What is good is immersive, intuitive and somewhat balanced progression. Lowest tier armor such as stab vest completely countering best snipers in the game is wack. Nobody carries unarmored vests just because stab vest offers so much for so little weight. Having extra slots isn't worth it when finding a 40 slot backpack is easy. There's just too many inventory slots in the game that stab vest not having any isn't really a noticeable penalty. Plate VS tundra/mosin: uncon till 230/280 meters (tundra being weaker than mosin). Stab vest VS tundra/mosin: uncon till 450/510 meters (again, tundra is weaker) Difference in weight and rarity doesn't justify such minor differences - outcome of a fight will always be the same at distances less than 230/280m, uncon then death. Stab vest should offer less health protection, but just enough so that best snipers can one shot in the close-mediumish range. If necessary give a bit of a durability buff to the stab vest so that it's more useful against smaller guns. Stab vest needs a nerf, and fixing armor with epoxy/sewing kits needs to go. Stab and Press vests should be a one time use, Plate carrier should have replacable armor plates and that way it should be the only piece of armor that can be fixed - heavy, sturdy, but fixable.

    You don't really need to post dxdiag file there, those are mostly used if you have crashing/performance/some other specific issues. Even a feature could be a badly designed one or not intentional, that page isn't strictly for bugs but game issues in general. How long does it take to empty a jerry can normally on the ground? If it takes longer than it takes to pour it out in a barrel, then it indeed is a bug and should be reported. Edit: It normally takes like 10 seconds to pour out a full jerry can on the ground, and I can confirm that it does indeed take much longer to pour it out in a barrel. That's a bug, feel free to report it.

    My suggestion then is to make a bug report here: https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/2/ I think you'll need to create an account, once you do that read the instructions on that link that I posted on how to submit a bug report. Explain your issue and all you can do is wait for a response. To be fair, a barrel has 200L capacity, jerry can has 20L, so it will take you 10 full jerry cans. But I agree that 3 minutes to pour out might be a tad bit too long, even if it is realistic (which idk if it is). Good luck.

    If you are talking about this: They are playing on 1.18, no gameplay has been shown of 1.19 or the new Livonia rework. Just few screenshots.

    I think I know what you are talking about, but they weren't playing on 1.19. I watched that stream live, that was 1.18 and they teased 1.19/Livonia screenshots here and there and also talked about it. No trailers were put out, no gameplay was shown on 1.19. Only select few screenshots were shown and they talked about few things that you already quoted.

    Check the video I linked (3:23). They said in 2017 one of the things missing is player inertia. It's 2022 now and we still don't have it. Hopefully 2023 then...
