Nope, everything is unlimited in DayZ. You pickup one gun, another one spawns in. You pickup one jar of honey, another one spawns in. You load up your mags and more ammo spawns in the world. You cut up a tree, it grows back on server restart. Although, they could possibly make gas stations have a fixed amount of fuel that slowly fills up on its own over a period of time. But why bother with the development of that, this is in my opinion one of the least important "issues" with the game. Maybe in "DayZ 2" or whatever, but for now it sits at the bottom of the list for me to be honest. -

Always nice to hear your take on guns in DayZ @-Gews-. You seem like a knowledgeable person and kudos to you for taking your time to write up such a detailed post. I had no idea that so many values were wrong. Hopefully devs reconsider the current gun stats. -
Game offers 2 night settings: 1) brighter nights and 2) darker nights Official servers are setup like so: 3PP = brighter nights, 1PP = darker nights + personal artificial light around you that only you see Community servers on the other hand can change settings to their preference. Almost all hardcore community servers are: 1PP + darker nights + NO personal artificial light around you. So if you are looking for a more hardcore experience, I suggest finding some good community servers. 2 servers that I know that are vanilla hardcore are: Dusk and Spaggies. There are also modded hardcore servers with reworked medical system, sleeping mod and stuff like that, but I don't know any of them.

I didnt say take away base building or raids. I said if we did have to include offline protection the only way I can see it is if it made late night raiding (12AM-12PM) impossible to make it more fair for basebuilding folks. I don't agree with offline protection, but I wouldn't mind if it was on a certain time based protection. -

Bases should be more than just a storage room (for instance, workbenches for more advanced DIY crafting). Lots of quality of life ideas should get implemented (modular wall sizes, object snapping, code locks "remembering" us instead of having to unlock/lock manually every time) But in my opinion DayZ shouldn't become a basebuilding game. It should offer it, but it shouldn't be a requirement. If things such as workbenches get implemented, it should be accessible to anyone in some places like industrial areas. Regarding offline base protection, I'm not sure about it. On one hand it's a good improvement for people, on the other hand, most bases will probably be unraidable 80% of the time. Maybe bases could be unraidable from 12AM to idk 12PM (server time, not game time) just to make it more fair against late night raids while everyone is asleep and server is low pop, but other than that I think it's fine how it is regarding raiding. Maybe guns could be slightly less effective at raiding? TLDR: Basebuilding needs improvements, but a typical gameplay loop shouldn't depend upon having a base. Also vanilla should have no build zones such as the Livonia bunker. -

Never thought about it but this is a great idea. Would be handy to have it. Possibly something as simple as left clicking while in freelook? -
I'm not a dev so idk. Players leaving just because it's night time isn't good for the game.

That's been one of my issues of long dark nights that are in vanilla, and it's clearly affecting a lot of people too. Once night starts, the server pop just plummets. I really like the idea of dark nights, but they don't offer much in terms of gameplay. New players especially will get completely lost in the night. Nights are a huge part of DayZ gameplay loop, but vanilla dark nights (that last an hour might I add) are just uninspiring and flawed.

From what I know, the only time you will drown is if you are under the water in any kind of way (for example, you drive a car in the ocean). You can float in the water forever. I'm not sure about out of bounds areas though but I don't see why you would drown by going there. You will probably freeze though.

I meant actually civilian (like winter wool gloves) and not working or medical gloves. I would be surprised that nobody has any gloves but they have so many hats and ushankas.

True, but if they are "soaked" you should be able to squeeze out some water at least. I also find it weird that there are no civilian gloves in the game.

Not sure to which extent, but it is. I've occasionally phased my head through walls when crouching around.

They didn't buff AUG damage just because variety, they buffed it because it makes sense that a longer barrel delivers more kinetic energy. And funny you say obsolete... now AKM is obsolete because of the "balance". Maybe it should be more common now?. -
Well, Sumrak once said (few months ago I think) on a stream that his number 1 wish (ignoring all limitations) to have in DayZ would be seasons. But if I remember correctly, he also acknowledged that it would be insanely difficult to achieve or outright impossible in DayZ engine. I think it would be fitting for DayZ. Would be cool too if there was a somewhat dynamic snow or at least areas with snow. Don't get your hopes up for now. Maybe in the DayZ 2 if it ever happens (which it probably will, maybe few years after Arma 4 releases).

Fair but there's nothing balanced about SSG spawning with a scope 24/7 + it has 5 damage more than Scout and CR527. Guns were always authentic to their real life counterparts, but with 1.19 both AK74 and AKS74u have a much slower muzzle velocity compared to the real ones (because they overbuffed 5.45 base damage values 🙄). AKM has next to no purpose now that AK74 got a damage buff. And how is it that still to this day AK74, AK101 and AKM have same base recoil values? What makes it funny is that due to the attachments they spawn with it's actually the AKM that has the least recoil, then AK74 then AK101... That makes no sense at all. -
They changed game engines. Technically they didn't remove it for no reason, but they did scrap almost everything.

That's the point of this experimental, Livonia + Cars. So yes, there is Livonia update on experimental, although I don't think they managed to get Livonia on experimental for Xbox - PC only for now, all platforms will get the update on 18th. -

People did suggest layered clothes before, and I must agree that it should be possible to have multiple layers. For now it is how it is, sadly. -
