Are devs supposed to fix/improve the game for 8 hours, or are they supposed to scroll through reddit/twitter/forums to reply to users or maybe they should use their free time after work to reply to you? They have community managers to do exactly that, they forward the feedback to those in charge of the dev team and they give answers to questions if and when they can.

Well since we get to only pick one thing, I'll keep it short even tho there's more to be said. "PBO data is now verified before entering the login queue (PC)" - Huge game changer for active/full servers. A "small" but impactful QOL update. Apparently zombies do more damage to clothes now. I haven't played much yet so it might be fine but it might be tedious/annoying. Will have to play more to see for myself. All, I like them all. I've asked for 30 slot bags on one Twitter post you guys made, and we've got 30 slot bags and MORE (hip bags, drybag bags...).

Wait, is that really the cause of AMD GPU issues? Does this occur only on RX5/6/7xxx series GPUs? Interesting insight.

I don't think consoles will ever get mods in DayZ. DayZ 2 however might as they have shown interest with modding on consoles with Arma Reforger - if we ever get DayZ 2 which we probably will, few years after Arma 4 probably. Sadly Arma Reforger is limited to Xbox/PC probably due to PS being all... Sony-like and not allowing fun.

Check the video at 5:20, reticle is basically the same as Mosin. No inaccuracies there.

Don't want to argue, but just wondering what did 500 get you? Does it include monitor, keyboard, mouse and a windows copy? Does it include warranty the same way a brand new PS5 does?
-
No no, I meant that DayZ timeline is set in 2010s. From DayZ wiki:
-
I think its more recent than that, around 2010s; FNX 45 is in the game and it wasn't in production until 2010-2012 or so. Other than that, I agree there should be lasers.

The sky and clouds need to be returned.please!
DefectiveWater replied to AustinPowers-31d000c8e1d48cca's topic in Suggestions
I just hope that the performance will be alright if they add volumetric clouds again. Otherwise I might need to upgrade my PC. Even a skybox (sky texture) update would be nice, I've seen few mods do it. -
Fair enough, altho I don't think they should die from only headshots tho. I think they should take same or slightly more body hits/shots to kill as players. They are afterall humans, living or dead, human body has limitations. Right now I think they are slightly weaker than players. They should definitely deal more damage to players as you suggested, rn the worst they can do is drop you uncon and by the time you wake up, they scatter around. Giving you an opportunity to escape.

Messing a bit with 1.22 experimental in offline mode.
-
But they are not your traditional undead zombies, these are supposedly living infected psychotic humans. So if they are humans, in my opinion they should require same injuries to be killed as humans would.

Why not?

Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
DefectiveWater replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
Even so, devs can freely adjust game parameters as they like. If players don't like it, all they need to do is play on modded servers that change it according to their preference as they do already. -
Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
DefectiveWater replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
Now thinking about it, I don't think we'll get any major gunplay overhauls this year. Next update is presumably the AI/Zombie update and after that we get Chernarus update. Recent Squad update left me amazed. It might be slightly over the top in some aspects, but it would be nice to have that in DayZ. -
No cooking pots in back pockets of jeans 😎
DefectiveWater replied to tzivan89's topic in Suggestions
Agreed with the post. Primary purpose of clothing should be insulation from the weather (with few exceptions as vests). Primary purpose of backpacks should be storage. I don't get why Hiking backpack has same number of slots as a Hunting jacket. So +1 to the pocket idea/resizing inventory. -
Remove the blur effect of guns when looking down them
DefectiveWater replied to GunplaySUX's topic in Suggestions
It's supposed to simulate eye focus + it hides details so that things look higher poly count than they are. My only gripe is that it makes the whole screen look blurry a tiny bit, not just the gun/hands. -
There's one myth that keeps popping up occasionally in the community. Some people say that clothes can get infected with diseases. For example: you get a cold and you wear a facemask, so now the facemask is infected and you will keep getting sick over and over. Some people also say that bottles can get infected by a sick player, I don't mean the water inside but the bottle itself. I personally never encountered those but I do wonder if those used to be features at some point before the engine change.

Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
DefectiveWater replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
Regarding gunplay, they improved the aiming delay in 1.21 so aiming feels much more snappy than ever before. They also updated some scopes to have less glare and better reticles. I wonder if they are preparing to make changes to the gunhandling 🤔 -
Crossbow, but underrated feature is: "UI brightness can be adjusted in the settings". Would be nice if it could be automatic depending on day/night cycles in game with min/max values. "Distant lights are much dimmer" - I might be quick to judge as I haven't seen the changes myself. I hope it's not overdone. Building Fortifications. I'm not much of a basebuilder myself, but vanilla basebuilding is pretty meh. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate basebuilding improvements - but obviously the game shouldn't revolve around basebuilding.

I don't think they should quit making core changes like that (game does need them), but this is something they should have done much sooner. Movement, vehicles, general physics, health system, melee/gun mechanics... those are core features. Those should be done as early as possible and they set the direction and feel of the game. Although, I would rather have core updates late than never having them updated.
-
To be honest, it felt weird to me too when I first tried it on experimental - even to the point of causing me nausea, but it feels natural now to me. DayZ should have had movement inertia since the beginning.
-
Leaning and A/D spamming (or sharp direction changes in general) should use up stamina. More stamina use the more you spam so that doing it once doesn't hurt gameplay - peeking a corner with lean uses next to no stamina, spamming Q/E exponentially scales stamina use. Great suggestions. Spamming movement should cause you to get "tired" and slow it down. Even CSGO has anti-spam measures for crouching I think.

I wouldn't mind a timeout if someone is constantly suiciding to get a different spawn (constantly stacking until a certain max time length), but i don't think its a priority at all.
