Maybe snacks don't need a nerf, but yes. I agree. -

I agree with you on that, but for majority of players good loot is the goal. Now that they added a bunch of guns they can keep expanding the early game and mid game stuff. Hence we are probably getting bows soon, and since Livonia will get an update I feel like they will take that opportunity to expand upon survival mechanics since Livonia looks much more survival focused/ruins/destroyed -

Spaggies vanilla servers. You missed my point. I didn't say they need to add more "end game guns", I just said what their reasoning behind adding so many military weapons might be. You need a "goal" for players, and that "goal" are the good weapons (AUG, AS VAL, M16...). -

Food is literally everywhere, and if you don't have food, then kill some zombies, they are bound to have some. Thing is... I think they need to add "end game stuff" first, like good guns and stuff to make players motivated and have a reason to keep looting and playing. Survival things like craftable clothes and bows and that stuff will be ditched by 99% of the players when they find Hunting clothes and Mosins/Tundras. Hopefully in 2022 we get more survival things though, more civilian guns, and all this would fit nicely to the upcoming Livonia update. I don't think you are hungrier, I think they only changed the indicator. It's still the same value... at least I think so. I'm not 100% sure. -
That's a bold statement. I would guess not, even with good anti-cheat players would still get banned and would still HAVE to buy the game again if they want to play (be that legit or not). If you have suggestions for Battleye I think your best bet is to contact them directly. BI has said several times that they aren't responsible for Battleye. EDIT: Also, the issue with DayZ is that even if Battleye bans 99% of the cheaters, and let's say theres 200 of them. That means there's 2 of them going ham on the server. Considering DayZ has like 30-40k players, It's safe to assume that that number of 200 might be even higher, or the detection % could be lower. 1 Cheater is enough to cause issues on the server (speed hacks, ESP, aimbots...). 2 won't even give you a chance to get inland. EDIT2: But I do agree with you, hwID should be the way to go, provided that there aren't false positives.

why is this game still broken?
DefectiveWater replied to Toxicjuggernaut's topic in General Discussion
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullet_(software) "Bullet is a physics engine which simulates collision detection as well as soft and rigid body dynamics." Cuz that is the NAME of the physics engine... It's possible to use it for vehicles although it might be a bit tricky but it's doable. GTA4 uses Bullet Physics Engine and Red Dead Redemption. Maybe more games use it. -

Some of those got addressed in 2021, not fully but they did touch up on it. Base building - rebalanced walls and reworked raiding (while more materials would be nice... bases aren't their focus for now) Medical system - reworked immune system, added fever effects, added infected wounds Carrying bodies - although only for chickens, but I know what you mean. Would be cool to carry people if they are hurt or dead. Spray paint - while it would be cool to have, I don't think it's on their roadmap for now. Working AI - Like AI soldiers? Why? Bow's are rumored to come in 1.16, and vehicles... well we know the story. I heard early 2022 they'll try working on it. They never promised a fix, only said they will try to fix it thus far. I'm sure devs would love to have all of those features fleshed out in the game, but they are pretty much making a new game since the engine change and with limited human resources at that. -
Wait... who left? https://steamcharts.com/app/221100#All DayZ is literally in it's peak again... All I have to say is get gud or don't play. It's a survival game, if you don't wanna survive then don't play. There are always modded servers with varying difficulty, some of them harder, some of them easier. Pick your flavor.

Please do tell me when they didn't listen, cuz they have been on a good track record for the past 2-3 years or so. Is this cuz of the hit indicator drama? Cuz this game just broke it's player base count over the weekend, so 1.15 has been a good patch. EDIT: to be fair player count was inflated due to the sale too, so there's that too. -

Why? Cuz I assume BI started this project way before they even had an engine for it. They had no tools to make the game they wanted to make and game development takes a LONG time if you don't even have an engine for it. The fact they ended up switching engines midway through made it even worse for them, but hopefully they have a stable platform to fix the game properly. Regarding the ping, idk man, no issues here. Wired solid connection that isn't even the fastest one. But I know a lot of people get kicked anytime their ping spikes up, it's unforgiving. Listen to who? All you did on your account was post "game bad, not recommend". They usually listen to the community, and they do their best to make it a possibility if it's a good suggestion. 2021 has been a great year with lot's of fixes, and if you can't see that by all the patch notes they put out, then idk man... Sure the game isn't AAA level polished, but it's playable (provided you don't get kicked, which I agree is annoying and should be looked into). -
I'm not against decreasing KOS though, but I don't think it should be done in such a way where game limits your ability to make decisions. Decision making should be up to a player, but resources are up to the game.

Also... imagine the snowball effect once bandits start killing everyone, and you as a freshie can't pull a trigger. Bandits gonna keep on banditing.
-
But not everyone would hesitate to kill someone IRL. There's a lot of wicked people in the world, just take a look at America and their gun violence issues I think better way about it would be to make ammo much much much more rare. So that instead of having like 80 Mosin shots after looting one MB you have like... 5 or less. If you had like 2 shots in your Mosin, you will probably hesitate to shoot. EDIT: also the hit indicators will give a chance for the other player to shoot back, maybe this will make people hesitate sometimes.

Why though? Forcing RP ain't a good way about it.

Don't wanna spoil the fun but... Possible spoilers inbound... Bows might come to 1.16 according to some game code. -
But they ARE fixing the game. Why you so mad?

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2049818993 Can we get something like this in vanilla? It's a Tourist map mod that removes the 2D overlay and makes use of the existing 3D map model. From what I've seen there already is a proper map model and texture in the game, but it's currently being covered by the 2D map overlay (which in my opinion looks worse than the 3D map). Thank you for your time.

Agreed. I like the change to food system in 1.15, maybe make starving a bit quicker but the fact that food is everywhere... kills the point of the game. -
Starving is much slower though, you can last longer without food. It won't kill you as fast as it used to. Kinda realistic.
-
PVP is a part of the survival. Take a look at all the hoarding people did during the quarantine, take a look at all the deaths during Black Friday sales... You really think people wouldn't kill each other during an apocalypse?
-
Yeah this is one of my pet peeves too, I'm trying to sneak around, wear quietest footwear, and then I go to jump over a small fence and my character is like: "HUgh uh". Everything else I agree with close to 100% or entirely 100%. I don't agree with this though: Infected as of right now are really good when it comes to balance. I still HATE that they can make me bleed somehow magically. I would honestly prefer if they dealt more damage but no bleeding at all.

Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
DefectiveWater replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
100% agree that movement and gunplay isn't up to what you would expect of DayZ. Escape from Tarkov has both (I didn't play it, only saw YouTube vids of it) natural movement and more natural gunplay. Guns have weight to them in EFT, aiming takes more than a split second, and one could expect just that from DayZ. But instead, DayZ feels like COD4 when it comes to the feel of the movement and shooting. Hopefully gunplay get's an overhaul someday... I mean there are mods that make it so much more different, so it's possible.
