Vomiting after being force-fed human meat should avoid getting Kuru
DefectiveWater replied to themightylc's topic in Suggestions
I think there is, not sure how long, but from what I remember could be up to 15-30 minutes. -
Good modding practice : add a #define to the scripts to help other modders to fix conflicts.

I have no idea what any of this means but have some beans. -
"We’re in the process of importing the latest version of vehicle simulation from a newer version of our Enfusion engine. We hope this will bring some much-needed stability to vehicle simulation in DayZ and expect to perform some public testing in the coming weeks." What?

This brought me back hope for this year, gonna wait patiently and see where the game ends up. Should be a fun and interesting year.

But it DOES have PVP elements to it, DayZ is a Survival Sandbox PVP game with zombies mixed in. I'm not against PVP items, but out of all the listed shots, I would only add birdshot. It's the only one that makes some sense for DayZ. Others fit Tarkov much more cause there you can prepare for combat, in DayZ you just get what you find. It could be more common than buckshot, and buckshot could be moved further inland but still capable of spawning on the coast but in low amounts. If we are adding in more ammo types, I would love to see a rubber pistol round. Maybe rubber .45 that's more common on the coast/police than .45 ACP. It would serve as a good freshie uncon ammo, since 1911 is useless already as it is, might as well make it have another use.

Not necessary for survival, true, but it would be a nice way to expand basebuilding aspect of the game. Sure I would love if they focused on survival first, but basebuilding is lacking (as are all the other aspects of the game tbh). I wouldn't ever say no to expanded basebuilding, but I don't want basebuilding to be the main way to play the game. I have never even built a single wall myself tbh.

No, they already stated so on twitter. They really should mention that in patch notes, that would be much easier for everyone. Instead of spreading info through multiple platforms.

Fix Lag Spikes, Frame Rate Drops & Rubber Banding.
DefectiveWater replied to WOLVERlNES's topic in Suggestions
So pretty much outdated then, got an SSD in it already? They might be able to optimize the game a bit, but... it's subpar hardware nowadays. OFC I'm not giving them excuses, they released the game on consoles and it's expected to run properly, so that's fault on their part. -

On which platform are you playing? If on last gen consoles I don't think there is much that can be done tbh, old consoles were underpowered on day 1 of their release. If on PC make sure your PC is up to par. Maybe they could optimize the game further but tbh it runs fine for me on 2600x/RX580/16gb DDR4/SSD. -
Fixing american themed tactical asscories and clothing
DefectiveWater replied to CJ5JEEPGUY's topic in Suggestions
They can make all the spray painted variants spawnable. Same how hunting jacket has different patterns spawnable. Just give better camo ones lower chance. Same with guns, painted = lower chance, camo = even less. Until they implement spray paint, then they can remove some variants from the spawn pool. -

Regarding the counter argument, I fail to see how it's a good argument. Sure, he freed up a slot, but not willingly. Now he has to wait for 5-40 minutes depending on how big the queue is. Priority queue would make that less painful while barely affecting others who are starting up the game for the first time that day - they would gain 1 slot when OP is kicked, then lose 1 slot once OP is back in queue, they lost nothing. I've played with few friends for at least 4-5 hours in one sitting. They sometimes end up getting kicked for high ping every hour or two, which isn't fun for me or them, and yet they can play other games just fine. BI should implement a chat warning system like: "High ping detected - You will be kicked in 5 seconds if it doesn't go down", or give players Ping indicator ingame. Almost every single online game has a way to show ping in real-time... it's 2022 and DayZ doesn't have that somehow. Now, should they implement a priority queue if you get kicked for high ping? I would personally say yes, at least until they fix server stability/ping sensitivity. Someone mentioned server restarts too... IDK if I would personally want them to implement priority queue for server restarts, that might be a bit of a stretch. Edit: also regarding "to play with his group without splitting." I'm personally used to getting into queue with my friends before we start playing (and my group knows that too). Server peak times are usually in the evening (european time) so we all make sure to log into the game 10-30 minutes before we want to play. Does it suck? Yes it does, but that's the most reliable way we found to play good community servers. -

Nah, that's not what he said. His point was that he COULD move to a different server because of a queue + high ping kick, but he doesn't want to waste time running back to where he was. Besides, sitting in the queue is oftentimes shorter than changing a server and running back to where you were. I would love if ping issues could be sorted out, lot's of my friends have no issues with any other game, but DayZ kicks them so frequently. Having a priority queue for 5-10 mins on the server you were playing if you get kicked for high ping and only for that, it would be a good bandaid fix to the issue, but it wouldn't fix the issue itself. -

DefectiveWater replied to Mosi2142's topic in Suggestions
Maybe, but they would need to manually add more "Spawn points" for players that log out and log back in another server. Maaaany more spawn points. This could be abused though, people would just keep looting Tisy, logging out, going back to other server, walking for a bit and looting again. Maybe once per 24 hours as you said. Like if you played your character less than 24 hours ago you would get moved back to the coast upon server change, but more than 24 hours you get moved to the closest newly implemented spawn point inland. Doesn't sound like a bad idea though, it's probably possible to achieve something that's fair while letting players switch servers easier IF they haven't played in last X amount of hours. Hopefully they'll see this and reconsider the idea. -

This would end up being a big issue with bases, people would easily exploit this to get into bases. -
Nah, I think they are the same. US might have higher damage range though, same baseline damage though.
-
Dirt bikes would be cool, but adding vehicles isn't a priority for them I assume. There are much bigger issues they need to solve first.

It does slow down, but it doesn't slow down immediately. There's still some usable energy from the gas until it slows down enough. That's what I'm trying to say. "A suppressor will typically increase the muzzle velocity of ammunition and maintain if not improve shot group." Maybe my explanation has been poor as my understanding of it all isn't up to par, but the general consensus from what I know is that suppressors can increase muzzle velocity. https://www.gemtech.com/silencers-do-more - source for the quote
-
Yeah, suppressors should in general have (near) zero impact on the bullet velocity, but at the exit of the barrel and beginning of the suppressor, gas is still at extremely high pressure (still pushing the bullet forward just a bit more) - as it goes through the suppressor gas gets slowed down. So that extra length of the suppressor can cause some increase in velocity, depending on how quickly it slows down gas.
-
Nope, suppressors don't slow down bullets. Suppressors slow down the gas from escaping from the barrel at extremely high speeds, thus lowering it's energy and subsequently sound. Bullet gains all the velocity in the barrel as the gas keeps expanding at extremely high speeds. As the bullet enters the suppressor, it already has achieved it's max potential velocity, as it keeps going, gas behind it is being slowed, but the bullet is unaffected. What you are talking about is subsonic ammunition which has much lower muzzle velocity. To explain it in simple words: Big boom = more energy = more speed = supersonic (makes a loud crack as it leaves the barrel) Smaller boom = less energy = less speed = subsonic (doesn't make a loud crack) Combine subsonic with suppressors and you will have really quiet rifles at the cost of lesser stopping power (because of the subsonic ammo, not the suppressor), but also you should have less recoil. Suppressors with supersonic rounds are still REALLY LOUD, and far from the "pew pew" sound effects that you see in the movies and nobody bats an eye. In best case scenario you might even have a higher velocity with a suppressor as it might serve as a "barrel extension", but gains might be miniscule to none. Note: not a gun guy though, so my explanation might be subpar.

https://feedback.bistudio.com/T162709 I already have suggested that recently, hopefully we get that small tweak. But I do agree with those suggestions of yours too.

As far as I know, you can only combine 1 type of meds + multi vitamins. So using Charcoal + MV + Codeine MIGHT have ended up cancelling your charcoal. I think you might be having few illnesses stacked. I assume you have both of these: 1) influenza - only sickness with coughing besides toxic poisoning - tetra and vitamins, 3 might not be enough 2) cold - sneezing - tetra and vitamins And one of these: 3a) cholera - vomiting AFTER eating - tetra + vitamins, 3 might not be enough - don't drink non-purified/sterilized water 3b) salmonella - vomiting AFTER eating - charcoal tabs + vitamins - don't eat raw food, don't eat/drinking with bloody hands 3c) chemical poisoning - constant vomiting - charcoal + vitamins - don't eat rotten/burned food, don't drink gasoline or disinfectants

Vomiting after being force-fed human meat should avoid getting Kuru
DefectiveWater replied to themightylc's topic in Suggestions
Can you feed somebody human meat even while they are facing you with their back? Cause if so, that's dumb. But, I think finding food is easy as is. I don't mind the kuru the way it is now, but I would like if they made you get less nutrition from regular foods if you have kuru, but eating human meat should stop the laughs for a certain amount of time depending on how much you ate. This way it offers more mechanics and makes a cannibal playstyle a possibility. Maybe cooked/boiled human meat should have a much lower chance of catching kuru... idk. -
Yellow temperature already causes the player to wipe his forehead. Would be a cool addition if it also made player's clothes get progressively more wet, or at least damp. Also should decrease players hydration value a bit faster.
-
Maybe medical/ NBC belt or small-medium backpack - Attachable medkit (red medkit = bad for camo, but offers storage) and gas mask? I still find it funny how hunting vest can only take one single fishing hook... like come on... Wish we had more clothes that have specific slots for specific tools or even compartments.
