Yeah I know that, but what I'm saying is that they wanted a high ROF gun, and the only available ROF is 900 RPM. So all "high ROF guns" are at 900. Next increment is 1800 RPM which would be absolutely bonkers. So that 900 RPM = high rof (m4, famas, mp5, as val). I don't think they picked 900 RPM for the M4 just cause wikipedia says 700-950 RPM, but because their engine can't handle ~800 RPM, and 900 is closer to 800 compared to 600 to 800.

Yeah, I feel like what he have now is a compromise between having it have high rate of fire and an engine that can't do 600-900 RPM range. As well as FAMAS having same ROF as M4 when it should be faster. Can anyone dig through game files to see what ROF was set for the M4? I wonder if they actually intended it to have 900 RPM or is it just a compromise/engine bug as I said.

(talking about rate of fire) Is it really accurate though? does a bog standard military issued M4 shoot at 900 RPM with no issues? I'm fine if stuff is OP or whatever so long as it's reflecting a real life version gun. I still don't get why do bolt actions HAVE to have higher damage for no reason (i remember this being an issue at first, but I think they nerfed it a bit - scout and cr527) Just make them more common (and better guns rarer) if a gun isn't good enough at it's current rarity.

This is a good idea, currently the only "survival" way of obtaining a fishing hook is to... kill an animal (bone hook) which is kinda weird since if you can kill an animal that means you already got some food. So the fishing requires an extra step of finding animals. Combining soda cans and a knife would be also a good idea, but the issue is that Soda cans magically vanish as soon as you drink them. Also I find it dumb how if you stop drinking a soda can, and then continue again you have to wait for the pull tab animation every time.

If your government is right, why did it need to lie to it's own people? Russian government also told it's soldiers that they are "peace keepers", that they would be "greeted like heroes", all of which were lies.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying DayZ should ban Russian players from playing. I was giving explanation to the question of why OP might think it might help. At the end of the day Russian people did nothing wrong, it's the state's fault for the current situation. Punishing Russian people isn't the way it should be done, if any sanctions are put up they should affect Russian government primarily. As you said Putin might not care at all, but it surely won't be easy for him if people down the chain start questioning his decisions. This all might just be wishful thinking, but one can hope.

From what I know terrain elevation = colder Even so, I think "Best" insulation should be stronger, maybe even cause yellow temperature if sprinting in warmer areas. I have had some weird times where my character was fully geared but cold, although I didn't run a Backpack and I had a Helmet instead of a warm hat + I was at Tisy MB which is at high elevation, so that could explain it.

By putting pressure on Russia (and russian people) people are hoping that those sanctions (all the companies that left Russia) will force them to stop the aggression against the Ukraine. That's the point, now will it work? Who knows... Death by a thousand cuts perhaps? It doesn't directly help Ukraine but it (all the sanctions so far) puts pressure on the Russia.

I think having more zombies depends the most on server hardware/server optimization, you can't just increase it and expect it to run the same as it did. Private/community servers can change zombie count in the config I think. I would love to see more wild animals attacking humans if they are provoked (boars, goats) None of the animals pose any challenge except the bear which can also be taken down with ease if you've got a full auto AR, but that's to be expected. Wolves are too slow, buggy and predictable with bad pathing making it easy to take them out.

How long should a player be asleep for by default? 5 minutes? 10? 20? 30? Should loud sounds wake up the character (alarm clocks, gunshots, grenades...) and should teammates be able to wake you up with an action key (F)? Would players actually wait for XX minutes staring at the black screen? Should players be able to sleep while offline ? If player is offline, once their character wakes up he should be removed from the server just the same when logging off - awake upon login with rested buffs. Ability to log off while asleep will be a nice feature to the people with bases as they know their character will be logged off if their character wakes up. Also throwing down the sleeping bag in a random hidden place in the forest, risky but could be worth it for the rested buff + warmth. I assume player's sleep would be stopped, the character removed from the server like normal and the next login he would just end up awake.

Agreed, pitch black isn't fun to play on when lights disappear after like 100 meters when you zoom in, making it impossible to shoot players with lights on. Or when zombies magically aggro onto me in pitch black somehow... like how even? I can't even see my feet and they aggro on me?! Sure, maybe they heard me, but how the... do they keep aggro on me even if I silently move away. They can't see me, and they can barely hear me crouching away on grass, but they still keep chasing after me as if they see me.

Sorry, this is all I will say: "No." DayZ is supposed to be a one life adventure type of game. You die, you lose it all. Stashing gear (and going back to your base from the previous life) is already too meta for me personally, but I can live with that. Respawns in bases are just a fat NO for me. Sleeping bags could have a use to warm you up, give you stamina boost, and decrease your water/energy loss or maybe increase healing speed - maybe at the cost of your character staying in the game while you are offline? idk

If it's on a TV it's probably a setting in your TV or it's just built in image processing.

Last I heard from someone he said that bushes and trees have a circular hitbox around them, but they shouldn't affect bullet trajectory. It's just for displaying the particles. But... who knows.

Now that would be a cool idea, but from what I know flares don't deal any damage right now.

You can respawn while uncon. You don't need to die to respawn.

Also additionally, at zero stamina player should not be able to punch if player can't block. I would suggest 0% punches, 10% medium objects and 25% large object. Blocking is just a bit too OP right now so maybe it shouldn't block all the damage. I suppose this is just a reaaally early implementation of Blocking/Attacking and I hope they expand upon it.

From what I know kuru in the game won't kill you... other players might though.
