    Atleast this is an idea thats not just obviously formed out of frustration over getting shot. Id drop the humanity system because i think thats dumb and more reason for a bandit to kil you the not. But good concept mahope rocket picks this up

    That goes both ways you jackass, if you want to dance around the field, shooting zombies and looting farms, shooting bandits and do whatever you Survivors do, fine. But dont be a retard about it and be carefull, look around you, stay frosty and dont act all ssuprised and shocked if someone kills you for your gear. Thats a consequence ofyour behavior. And how exactly do bandits sit around for hours waiting for someone to gather gear ? Do you even hear yourself saying this bullshit? What you think i kill one survivor and i'm set for life, i need food and bandages to, we get cold too, we run into zombies to. Stop complaining, and pardon my french: fucking get better at surviving.

  5. People versus zombies is called left 4 dead, dead island, black ops. It's been done. Go play one of those and stop thinking this needs te be changed in this game. Im tired of you carebear egomaniacs trying to make an unique game change to make it 'easier' for you or what YOU call 'more fun'. Like some of the othfer ideas but Bandits DO NOT need to be 'fixed'. Nut up or shut up.

    Don't agree at all with this . I repeat: There should NOT be a punishment for killing people, there should be more to do, thats all. Don't break this game.Also, ffs Survivors look around you, pay attention, use the treeline

    I was thinking the exact same thing, especially the CLICKER! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clicker Rocket, you should really think about building it into the character, but in order for it to work everyone needs to have it from the start. A clicker would be fantastic, you will give EVERYONE a way of speech. Regardless of headset or language. The community will automaticly invent some sort of language, bandits and survivors will agree new signals all the time. Why i think you should have a clicker in DayZ -Easy way of expressing (bind it to single key like watch or compas), does not endanger you! -Clear distinctive noise, can be heard quite a while away, nigt or day! -Does not reveal location at once! -Endless sound combinations! -no headset-mic-language barrieres! But in order for making this bigger and more accepted then even the Q and E dance, the salute or lowering your gun, you would have to give it other uses eventually: if Rocket decides to implement that the zombies check out a noise first curiously before becomming agro when they have visual confirmation, then you can make it so that the zombies slowly start stumbling towards the clicking noise too if they hear it. This way you could endanger yourself or friends (or enemy's :P) by clicking, also you could lure zombies away from a barn while your buddy loots or maybe you could lure away farm animal with it? so that you can shoot them safely? I think this idea might be a step towards fixing how delicate the balance between bandit and survivor is! I think allot of times people kill eachother because they can't communicate or didn't have the chance. If we all agree that 2 "clicks" means friendly it will already make a change.

    this is going to be massively abused. I'll just chose spectator, go on skype , zoom around NW airfield and tell my buddy who's alive where everyone is... if you want to watch people playing i suggest you search youtube, there's tons of videos like that.

  15. i'm understanding of how f*cked up it is to be killed by someone you didn't even see or who you trusted, especially when it's multiple times in a row. God knows it happend to me allot. But i'm kinda tired of seeing people who obviously had a bad day(Z) <-haha! ...rant on the forum about how there's 'only player killing', it's a 'sandbox deatmatch' or the likes. I feel like they are dramatizing something they themself experienced. My experience with this game however is completly different. I consider myself a bandit, because most of you would call me that. On contrary with what you might think i have never killed for fun, i have never chased someone who got away, and I let people go if they can scare me off or they talk me out of it. I'm not a backstabber, i don't lie. If I want you dead i will make it very clear from the start! Also, most of the time i want your crap. I hoard, i'm a hoarder. Also i bleed allot. Now i tell you this to make a point: i'm a bandit, i've killed people when i desperatly needed things or they treathend my survival, but from all the people i have met the last month or 2 i can only derrive one thing: There are not THAT MANY psycho-bandits. Most encounters go like this: -*Hey a guy! [zoom-binoculars] Does he have a gun? [yes] Is he looking at me [Yes] DEFCON 1! He sees/hears i'm a bandit! If he aims kill him! *Hey a guy! [zoom-binoculars] Does he have a gun? [yes] Is he looking at me?[No] Do i want his shit, does he look loaded? [No] Let him go, dissapear [Yes] Fire at will! *Hey a guy! [zoom-binoculars] Does he have a gun? [No] Does he have big backpack? [Yes/No] Kill/Ignore Some go like this: -Ah some guys hunting, they look pritty noob they wont hurt me. Got nothing i want. [Walk towards/past/away from them uncarefully] *Hesitating noob face, his gun turning with you* [Oh Shit] *BAM* Shot by a makarov or winchester, in the future i expect to be axed quite allot. Conclusion acceptable: dick move on my part, they had reasons to want me dead, thnx to the bandit status and my gear. (sure, survivors do it for the status. (you high if you believe that)) And, a few go like this: - OH SHIT A GUY RIGHT THERE [iAM VERY SUPRISED],did he spot me? [Yes/No] Kill/Kill unless there are more, if he sees you he will be scared and shoot you. If more guys are there - run - if spotted - run*shoot*run*shoot*toss grenade*run like Forest. (idealy into a forest) - La,la, laa i'm walking down the street with my awesome gear. [bAA*zzzzzp*AANG] - Splat. You Are Dead. <<-This happens to bandits to. Any of these circomstances could be heavely altered if target or me speaks of types. But that's about the gest of my experience. Ofcours this is up for discussion, but it's what i feel in playing the game. I have maybe run into a stark raving mad psychopath that started shooting right away 2 -3 times, in a situation that i could blame him for that action mind you. I don't call that a pvp deathmatch guys. Point is, this game is like nothing i've ever seen before, not only in game and concept, but also in the contact between dev's and players. This game can be SO friggin intense if you let it! Dive into it, except that you could die any minute and play like that. I am not a military person or anything, but a long time gamer, and this game let's me play a game with my virtual skills and (almost) experience and feel it like it was real. The second time i played this game, i fell in love.(below i'll write why if you want to read). And i suggest you all do the same, and we try to find other ways to "make" or "let" us work together, instead of destroying half of what makes this game exiting in some way or the other. Changing the loot you get from player, FF OFF-servers,balance systems, heartbeats, bandit-restricted zones, looks, tags, it's all the same boring routines. None of it works it just destroys what made the game special. Just play hard ball guys and girls. For once there is a game that doesn't say "Look, here's an enemy, he is obviously not as strong as your super-duper-special-forces character but here's our latest, cutting edge weaponry anyhow. You do this mission, and then a long, harder one, and in the end everybody who worked on the game can have his name role across your screen." No. This game says "Hey man, the world's fucked, zombies everywhere, better get off your ass an survive! What's that? you don't have shit? Yes, that would be called surviving. What's that? you want to be alone with the zombies and big f*cking gun? Well, you're not allone.And here's a Makarov if you r lucky. There's dozens of peeps out here.What? they will kill you? Depends oh the stupid shit you do bro... just eat, sneak, crawl, scope, chat and kill your way trough life. Do what you gotta do." Nobody ever told you this game was easy. But god you gotta love it. Z. The story of why i think DayZ is ammazingly immersive if you let it: I was freezing from the rain, and it was getting dark near Cherno, i had get inside somewhere or become sick. Found a village, crawled true in the dark, the rain, a storm going on above me and zombies moaning. Desperatly i crawled around, only 3 bullets. Found a shack, got inside, closed the door. And watched zombies passing by the window of the shack as the storm raged. After about 5 full minutes of sitting there i suddenly realised, i mean like waking up, that i was not actually there, i could move about freely in my desk chair and wait for my character's body to warm up and then move along. I was like really releaved man , almost like when you wake up from a bad dream, i had been totally into the being scared and sneaking for the entire village, i had sweat running down my back. That doesn't happen to me allot :D This game rules, Rocket, you rule, let no man change you!
  16. +1 on this idea! remove any notion of a players past! Not for heavy harted discussion topics like "humanity" and "good and evil" and all that, but for the simple fact that it will make the game more exiting, more dangerous AND more variable! It is simple, often people kill someone out of greed, amusement, fear, whatever. It doesn't nesecary make them a "bandit" (as you call someone who will kill anyone he sees for the fun and gain of it.). However, if you brand them with a tag, a different look, a sound, because of a mistake they will expecting te be treated like a bandit, oh, and also, they will be treated like a bandit. I can live with the hearbeat if i must, but I think it will be better to hide a characters past. It will make the "life" story you experience more intense, and people will get second chances. nooooooooooo...

    +1 on this one! And yet, there should be a limit to how hard and how long a party could camp or secure a spot, otherwise the loners and noobs out there get banned from the good looting places.

    Some wild idea's!

    Hey rocket, big fan! Just some things for you guys to consider, or not :) - knocking someone unconcious (with or without wounds) with the crowbar or axe, so you can steal his stuff without killing him. - boobytraps: things like tripwires, alarms, grenades boobytrapped to loot . maybe you can use the toolkit or whatever to dig a pit people can fall in or tie a zombie from a string, releasing him when you hit he tripwire! :) (You could maybe knock a zombie out first with the crowbar and then use him in your trap!) -bicycles! lots and lots of bycicles! -Expand on the wild animals, there could be more: dogs, cats, birds, horses, wolves. Some could be dangerous and some helpfull. A horse could be caught and used to carry stuff... Zombies could be distracted by an animal zo so you use them as a decoy... -maybe change the medical loot to small and larger packages of medical suplies. A small pouch could have a bandage and some painkillers, a first aid box would have 2 bandages, painkillers and some morphine. A medical bag could have 4 bandages, 2 painkillers, mophine, and an epi pen. And a Doctor's bag could have blood bags, epi pen and morphine. Somehting like that. It might encourage sharing and currently i find bandages everywhere, as well as painkillers and morphine no where. The packages could still be bound to plausible locations, little pouches and medical kits in homes, medical bags and doctor's bags only in hospitals and firestations and such... -It would be nice to experience the "holy shit i'm lost in the woods and i'm hungry and there are zombies" even more in depth, however i do not know if this is possible with the arma2 engine: have the characters piss and defecate, and maybe even trow up! It would be awesome if you had to like, stand on guard while your bro was taking a shit, or that you could drink pee or eat raw meat but had a chance of trowing up and losing blood. thnx for listening!   19. Why, for f*cks sake, do i see so many posts trying to "fix" bandits...it's not a problem to be fixed it's a game factor te be taken into account, it's part of the game. People can kill you and grab your shit, they can, they will, they are gonna. It's not a bug or something to be patched. Bandits do not need to be recognizable by anything more then a hearbeat, if that. They wouldn't be in real life. If anything, bandits will always be a bigger reason for people to gang up then anything you change.

    nah, would totally ruin part of what makes this game so special.PVP is hard, can happen at any time and if you die, you lose. That's what it should be, shouldn't be an option. We should all learn to enjoy the power of the frustration, anger, and exitement this game offers you, and learn from your mistakes. (Not trying to get personal it's just my view, and why i disagree :))

    I peer trough the scope on my dirty AKS-74. Nothing but forest. I lower the powerfull rifle to swipe the dirt of with the sleave of my woodland camo vest. My earpieace crackles. 'You should see me about now.' My eye ligns up with the scope again. A figure appears exactly where the red dot meets the treeline. Obviously a criminal. Heavy armored. Hastily the bandit makes a B-line over the green grass. I speak. 'I see you. Turn to your left and up abit, on the rock right here." 'Got you' El P. replied. The man in a green grass sniper outfit came at him, hardly distinguishable from the bushes he ran past.'Ok, let's go. The big metal shed over there.' 'What is this place, can't read the name on my map, it's all smudged.' El P. asked. Coverd by bushes they headed towards the city, hoping for plunder in the old metal shack. 'Stary Soborsk or somthing like that. Medium sized town'. They both froze in their racks when the gunshots went off about 300 meters north of them, near the building they were heading at. 'You go in downstairs, i'm gonna take that ladder and crawl up on the roof.' I let El P. know. 'Roger' 'Ok i'm in position on the roof, go in.' 'Roger, going in. Seems clear.' While my bro searches for usuable stuff i check out the surrounding town. Where did those shots came from. It was not far... I fear being targeted standing so still so i move around a bit. While El P. is downstairs he is talking in my ear about what he finds. ' Some empty cans, alright! Coca Cola, uhm... some .45 ammo.' I'm not listening anymore, my scope is switching rapidly from target to target as i see 3 guys approach,spread out over half a street. Obviously ready to defend themselfs. Or attack. I calm my breathing, take postition on the edge of the building's roof and target the first one. 'He is crawling between a shed and a barn, hoping to flank us from the left.' I whisper to El P. 'We got company, 3 guys, heavy weapons, I think i can take two by suprise, but i need you outside right fucking now to distract them. First on is the noth side, about 40m's from the building, crawling.' El P. leaves the loot and exit's out the door on the north side. 'I see him' I respond in doubt. 'I can take him but the others will dissapear in cover when they hear it.' El P. hesitates. 'You think they friendly?' I get angry.'Remember what happend to Stewie man? He fucking died trusting somebody. He fucking gave the guy the gun he was shot with. I remember that asshole's smile untill the day i die, aswell as his look when you split his head with that hatchet.' My eyes become moist. I blink, line up the shot with the guy crawling towards the building. His mates now getting close to the same side of the building. 'I'm taking him the fuck out'. I pull the trigger. His head explodes. The shot rings across the town. I immidiatly target one of the others. He's running for cover. I fire and miss. I fear I will lose him in a second. I hear another shot close by and my target drops dead. El P. never let's one get away. 'Where's the third one?' 'Don't know' 'I see movement in the shed, south side, about 15 meters from the building.' 'My sight races to the location, i see a shoulder moving by the window." 'Confirmed, he's in there' Our shots have attracted zombies. El P. has to retreat into the building to reload and take on the zombie wave. I am secure in the height of my position. He curses. I keep looking at the shed. Zombies are at the door, banging against the wood. Howling. Downstairs i hear my bro emptying his M1911 into half a dozen zombies. 'It's taken care off. I'm going to trow a frag grenade at the door, maybe it'll kill him, either way he'll shit his pants. I see the grenade fly. Shortly after the zombies at the door vaporize in a deafening explosion. We're lucky, seems we didn't attract more zedheads. I don't know if my target is dead. The door opens. I yell at El P. He rushes forward, exitting our building. For a second my target appears in the doorway, i fire and miss, he backs up and fires something explosive out the door, at my building. The ground shakes as the grenade hits the wall beneath me. The air is hit out of my lungs. 'Holy shit El P. dude's got heavy weapons on him! Return fire!' El P., also hit back from the explosion circles around the back of the building the target is in, hoping to catch him by suprise. Before he get's there i see his leg in the doorway and fire two rounds into his legs. Some new zombies aproach and we take care of it. Curious what out loot can be from these well equiped guys I make my way downstairs. Before me or El P. get to the corpses we recieve a message. "SESSION LOST." The server crashed or we were kicked, all i know is that the three guys we killed were from the clan that owned the server. Weak weak weak. You were 3, with heavy, maybe even hacked weapons, and we were two. You were ambushed fair and square.
