    Console Update 1.18

They obviously have a deadline and they have to meet it, players be damned. QC in games in general is shocking at the moment. Steam/Sony/Microsoft need to put their foot down with regards to stuff like this. Get it right or it's not going on the store.

    Console Update 1.18

I don't think the point of experimental is to fix bugs before release. It seems to give them the opportunity to give the devs a 2/3 week head start to fix the bugs it eventually gets released with. That's how it seems anyway.

    Console Update 1.17

PS5 is in dire need of an update solely focused on stability/bug fixes, as do all other consoles as far as I can see.

    controversial opinion

I really don't think duping is a problem anymore, I can't remember the last time I suspected someone of it. What I think gets forgotten is, there are groups of players who PVP and raid constantly and exclusively. When you play in a group of 4 or more, steam-rolling players/bases week in, week out, stashing, you soon have so much gear/grenades no base can stand in your way. How do you balance that? A solo player will always be way less efficient then 6 working together. Do make bases hard to raid for the group of 6? If so, it's now impossible for a solo. I don't know the answer.
  5. I play on console and the only issues I've experienced are players exploiting glitches, but they're few and far between, and generally get patched out quickly enough.

    Natural night vision

Bumping this because it's a great suggestion. It would bring use to rifle mounted torches too, to mess up your enemies natural night vision. Also, nerf NVGs into the ground. Limit their viewing range to 30-50m max for example, and have them badly effected by torches/bright light. They're still way too OP, even if they are now a bit rarer. I'd even make the battery consumption high, so you can't just throw them on and forget, you have to pick your moments to use them. The main benefit of NVGs should be 1.) not advertising your position at night, while 2.) having some low light visibility. At the moment they're still night time god/easy mode. Its too much. Perhaps people wouldn't leave the server when it got dark if they could confidently utilise head-torches, without the fear of an NVG squad wiping them with a BK18.

    Unfair Loading In Game exploit

Did PC not yet directional hit effects?

    Unfair Loading In Game exploit

Now they seem to have 'unoptimised' the PS5 after optimising it a few patches back, it's even easier to exploit. You can close your app and load back in so much sooner due to the PS5s SSD. For the same X-ray effect (as I believe it is referred to) you can also turn 180 degrees from where you suspect there to be an enemy in a building, zoom into the horizon with a 12x hunting scope for a few seconds, then quickly turn back around 180 degrees and you can see through buildings again for a seconds. You don't even need to close the app! Top tip. Please fix.

    Console Update 1.17

The loss of game sound followed by a hard crash is worse than ever (PS5) Seems to be when in close proximity of other players causing it.

    Console Update 1.17

The worst part of this update is the return of a number of old bugs. You just can't expect players to go out of their way to report bugs, fix them, to have them return later. A waste of everyone's time. The new items are going in the right direction though, so that's nice.

    Boheima

I play PS official and any busy server is quite bad with stuttering and desync, which gets worse the further away you are from the last reset. It's particularly bad when you're near the coast due to there being more players nearby. Livonia is bad for it just because the map doesn't encourage you to go inland as much as Chernarus does, so you are always near lots of people. The entire problem with cars seems to be caused by busy servers. The fact that this hasn't been addressed leads me to believe that although it feels like the server, it's actually the game that's the problem. Medium population servers are the best balance between reliability and interaction from my experience. It's a massive problem, not convinced it's Nitrado though.

    Let’s talk about the AUG

Probably a bug to be fair. Wouldn't surprise me if they intended to add just the original but ended up with two wrong ones. It is DayZ.

    Sensitivity settings

You're not, it has impacted me too, but the game is still playable. DayZ isn't a fast paced twitch shooter to many, like me, so it doesn't impact me very often, and I can work around it. That's probably why you're seeing fewer complaints about the issue than you would like.

    Console Update 1.17

PS5: - Sensitivity sliders don't seem to work - Character models STILL stretching and deforming - When running out of stamina when sprinting while 'zoomed in' it quickly unzooms and zooms back in. Very annoying if you have low stam. - Inventory controls are an absolute disaster, I don't know what you have done but 'CIRCLE' to 'combine' items always closes the inventory while combining. I can't even be bothered trying explain the other inventory inconsistencies in behaviour, not really sure how to, to be honest, just isn't right while tabbing through items in proximity/hands. - 'HOLD SQUARE' to drop items from dead zombies to ground doesn't seem to work either. I'm sure this is an old bug. - Frame rate issues after playing over time prompting a restart of the game on the PS5 to clear. This one was introduced in 1.16 I think. - STILL experiencing loss of sound, shortly following by a game crash. Why can I still not place a tent/fence anywhere that isn't absolutely, perfectly flat!? Do you want me to use tents/basebuild? Just change that back to 1.09 era behavior please! 3000 hours and I haven't played since 1.16 release. Guess I'll wait until 1.18 then, see if you can fix it then. I love this game, but I've made it. I'm at the end of the DayZ tether. For the first time after years of following this community I'm going to say it... Fix your game before adding new stuff. Oh dear, I've turned into that guy. Sorry.

    Gas Grenades

We do have gas in the game now afterall. Locking yourself in a building is such a crutch, especially in third-person servers, that gas grenades would really get things moving again. Frags are alright, but sometimes the lockpick connoisseur needs a little more persuasion.

    M4 is Rediculous

900RPM is rediculous. 60rnd magazines and so little recoil makes it feel like I'm cheating. Proper easy mode. Bring on the nerf.
  17. Increase the durability of them in the meantime. Especially radiators/wheels. Allow Sarka/Olga/Gunter wheels to be interchangeable at least. That would be nice.

    STOPPING POWER!

Guns experts, everywhere. (yawn) I wan't realistic bowel movements. No wonder we keep getting assault rifles.

    M4 is Rediculous

If the aim of the game is authenticity over balance then I would like my character to have to brush his teeth every day and to use the toilet every 8 hours too.
  20. I can only speak from my experience on the PS5 after 1.15 went live, but I'm seeing issues with random pop-in, bad freezing in towns, and the limbs of my friends characters stretching in all sorts of weird ways. Anyone else having any issues?
  21. I haven't built a base since 1.11, but prior to that I've built more than I can remember, so I'm comfortable to what to do and what to expect. Have the devs done something to the placement and collisions of... well everything, since? Watchtowers, walls, tents, shelters are all a pain to deploy near other objects. I've tried in buildings, forests, you name it. It's like they've increased the collisions of everything, so if you're not building in a perfectly flat field, you're probably in for a headache, especially if you're trying to hide in a forest. Makes sense as to why I rarely find any bases any more. I've given up trying twice recently. I think it might need a little work.
  22. Yea, I've given up. I wasted my time trying to build a 6x6 watch tower base in the same position as I had a year ago. A flat in a forest. Wouldn't let build a part after spending hours looting for materials/tools and doing the first layer. Demoralising is what it is.
  23. RZ0R

Toxic Zones shouldn't kill you so quickly.

People would just run into toxic zone, grab the guns, dump them in a bush, respawn and collect them. The gas needs to be deadly.

    Console Update 1.14

Me too. Doesn't help that half of my friends still on the PS4 are experiencing piss poor performance since the update, crashing, and then the servers were buggered last night. Don't blame them for not playing. PS5 however, best time of my life!
  25. Hi, I'm a console player, and I've been playing for a number of years now and one thing I've always felt could do with a little work are the Night Vision Goggles, especially in third person perspective. I've always felt they're a little too 'good'. I don't know how NVGs work in real life, that's not my angle, but from a gameplay perspective I've always felt like are a little OP. I feel they at least need some kind of bezel effect on the screen, much like a scope, especially in third person, limiting field of view as a penalty for being able to see well in the dark. Maybe go as far as suggesting NVGs shouldn't work in third person? That's a harsh one, but it would make sense because you're not using your players eyes. You could argue though that being able to see well in the dark in first person vs not being able to play the TP camera over walls etc is a good trade off. Also, the distance at which you see can detail through them maybe shortened? Perhaps such a change would close the advantage gap between having NVGs and not having them. In addition to this it might see the player base make use of flashlights more too. On that note, it would be interesting if lights had a very detrimental effect on NVGs, like a rifle mounted flashlight being blinding when being aimed at you with NVGs on. I also remember reading something about the PSO1s being able to see infrared emitted by night vision devices IRL? That would be interesting if there were counters like that. So maybe they could do with a counter too. The recent wipe persuaded me to post this, because the first thing to do after every wipe is stash NVGs over everything else, so I'm never without them. I actually prefer playing in the darkest nights with NVGs than I do the daytime. I find it easier to see details, especially in forests, there's no real counter and half of the players in the server don't have them. That just doesn't seem quite right. Cheers.
