What other game is quite like it? Nothing I've seen. I don't want structure, I want chaos. Sometimes it's quiet in Chernarus. Sometimes you end up dead. It's when you let your guard down it happens.

Downloaded the DayZ Experimental server from the Xbox storefront. I'm living it already, 1.26 and they have Sydney servers.

Can we get a straight answer on when this is coming out? I normally am not too concerned but since this one is doing a wipe, I feel I can't play the game until this is out. If I spend a weekend doing my thing and building a base, then it gets wiped on Monday - I just wasted my time. I want to play DayZ today, but what if the wipe is tomorrow? I don't see a date and your forum is twerking about something from May.

I probably should have mentioned I'm on Xbox, but I didn't want to be sneered at by the computer bros. Region as Asia. I'm just fishing for information here, not sure if anyone knows what is up with these servers. There are no "stable" servers running out of Sydney, just these supposedly temporary ones. I'm not going to set up base if for some reason these are wiped after every reset, or whatever is going on with them.

These servers I think run out of Sydney Australia? The question I have is, Why do they always say they are temporary? I would like to use them but if they ARE temporary I really can't. I have favourited them to see how long they stay around and it has been months. As it is now I got to run out of Singapore, which is not ideal. Sydney would be better. Got some time in today. There's a new small patch out. Seems a little better.

I play on console because I don't have time to mess around setting up a new PC. Besides, on my time off I spend enough time on other games on console which is more than enough. If I'm out I don't want to be reading bug reports from Bohemia on my phone. Not happening. If I'm at home I use my PC to browse because screen size. The only proof of life we have on these dev's is some text shit-posting. Someone should do a welfare check. They're probably handcuffed to a radiator in a basement somewhere.

Omg. It's so bad, in Berezino zombies attacked, the game literally froze, then I got wedged on a fence in a falling animation and got killed. This is on an official server in my region. It's like playing on a UK server in Australia. Worlds greatest lag. Whatever you have done with this update, undo it. You have broken the game. Things are not loading. Game is lagging. That new animation bollox is probably causing it. Here's a tip, when you are testing your game, make sure it runs at minimum specs before you load it up with game breaking wants. What were you people doing? Running it on a local (in the building) server on an uber rig? I wonder if you even tested this at all.

Ok, I'm a sucker for punishment, and did want to hit up some DayZ on my day off... I went to a private server and by chance they have very low zombies so until they do another patch, finding a server with low/no zombies makes it a bit better, but it's still not great.

I've never seen a developer totally wreck their game like this 1.20 patch. It's a laggy hot mess on X-box now. I'd prefer not to have the new body physics if this is what it's going to do.

This game is unplayable now. The game chugs now on X-box with models popping in and out of view. The combat would be impossible.

They need to add more props and meshes to the game. New buildings to replace the old repetitive buildings. Have the current ones as placeholders then customize locations slowly with whatever they can think up. With the lighting effects in DayZ they could have a lot of fun with a few skeleton props and some blood meshes. They already have some to work with in the zombie and animal guts. I'd go with less focus on the guns, and more focus on exploration and surprises. (Was just checking in to find out some other information, give this thread a bump on the way through) gg

Any idea when this will be released to the main game? And, will it be a full wipe or a patch? I'm wondering whether to continue my base building.

New building models should be done. The current ones are so overused and repetitive it is nauseating. No more guns, more items needed. More creatures, perhaps some birds and rats and cockroaches. Eat the bugs. Like Greta wants to do.

They unfortunately haven't removed the character movement in menu's. I don't like it. It's still awkward on controller. One can use the d-pad but that's clunky. If they want to keep it, they should swap the in character in menu movement to the right control stick. That would work better.

Is there an unmentioned change in the menu that anyone has noticed? Now my left stick moves the character around, while I'm in the menu. I saw they did it on the experimental, but thought they'd have the common sense not to include it in the next patch. It's game breakingly frustrating. Is this a thing or a glitch? I can't see it mentioned in the release notes.

This is good. Would like to see some more items and a rework of the very similar interiors. Some new zombie models would be nice. Go wild with it, they don't all have to look amazing. Pay five bucks to locals to appear in a game or something. In the original The Sims game you could basically drag any textures you like over a mesh. Took minutes. Zombie test pack of extra 50 zombies, one dollar. Everyone is going to want that.

I don't use twitter. I'm here today to check on the new small update, so, I only come here when there's an update. I saw in one update they did an in game message? I know they can message in the modded/private lobbies. It could be immersion breaking for some players, but perhaps for big updates they could put out a message of wipes. No big deal. I didn't lost a base or anything that time intensive. Someone who had a base and was fully set up would be a little more annoyed at no warning. They just fresh spawn in, they'd be livid. Anyways, Ill go see if there's anything posted about this current patch.

I had issues with the game initially, but have become accustomed to the way it works on console now. Such a great title and one I keep returning to. I was browsing the storefront and saw the reviews are not fair or balanced so, people should also take a few moments to write a review. There's nothing like this on Xbox and these developers need the support so they continue to make updates and new content. Thanks Bohemia.

I'd like to see an option where you can toggle the chat on and off. So many times I've been mid-sentence and realised I wasn't holding the chat button down. Having to hold the button is clumsy. Have it that way if you want, but a constant audio feed toggle should be available. I can't use the left stick while holding the talk button. Very risky.

I got no notification this was coming and was still working on my stashed loot. Lost it all. I'd like to see a lot more items and things to do in the next patch. Some more zombie models would be nice. Make an umbrella or a lightweight poncho to get around in wet weather as well.

I noticed they did something to the seeds you get from tomatoes? I used to eat most of the tomato, then cut seeds out with a knife yet now, there are no seeds given. Is anyone else noticing this? On thinking about it, the tomatoes I had in my inventory were from before the 1.12 update, perhaps that is the reason?

I'm enjoying DayZ a lot more now knowing how things operate. What might help is a backstory that tells that you are basically starving from the get go. Fruit alone will keep you alive for a while, but your need for more is immediately apparent. Get a knife and carve up a chicken. that meat will sustain a lot longer. I ate fruit while I scavenged around towns for equipment and tinned food. Once the controls become more intuitive, the flow of the game becomes a lot better. I do like how the quick select can be utilised while running and during the action. Fruit is a good way to get started and appear under trees generally around and in towns. Fruit will generally appear as white dots on the ground and are easily spotted once you know what you're looking for. The menu button will show up anything in the immediate surrounds in the left hand panel, which is sometimes useful when spotting for fruit on the ground. Find a knife and chickens can be butchered. Be sure to wear gloves, or wash your hands at a well after butchering to avoid salmonella poisoning. Find the well before butchering. then butcher then wash hands immediately. If you eat after butchering without washing hands, you will become very ill. If you wear gloves you don't seem to need to wash hands. Find an axe and trees can be cut. Timber can be used for fires. Easy to use fireplaces in houses. Rags for tinder can be used. Knife can be used to get rags out of most clothing. If you make an open fire in the field, you need a long sharpened stick to cook the meat on, combine the meat and stick in inventory. Found a compass and headed north. Found some sheep. Butchered a couple and cooked them up, smoked some meat also. Stay out of the rain. One has to wait it out to avoid getting sick. Use the time to repair your equipment or cooking food. Bandage any wounds immediately with rags to stop bleeding. Always have rags on hand. Sewing kits are good. Hold clothing in hand and combine in inventory, then repair on holding right trigger. Axe for trees and animals. Knuckle dusters were great for dispatching zombies. Guns attract zombies. There's much more to explore in DayZ. I'm figuring out farming now. That will be my next adventure.... Did take a few sessions to get all this figured out and it's helpful to look up some things online to help in how things are done. There's no manual or tutorial with the game and in that case it can be a bit daunting initially. I hope that DayZ continues to be developed further as it's a lot of fun to travel such a vast land.

I had an encounter on the beach. He didn't speak and was dodgy. I could tell he was eyeing of my goodies. After he circled around for a bit, he started attacking with fists so I pulled out a spanner and beat him to death with it.
