My clan has a similar experience, and we no longer store gear in vehicles. Only way to keep your pixels is to place them in your backpack when you log off. Yes its an alpha, and its still the best game i have played this year...

Yes, the SD requires SD ammo, the normal guns can use the SD ammo, but not the other way around...

My clan has found and fixed many vehicles. We have also lost most of them when all of us where logged out(and 1 spectacular crash from a m107 sniper). Anyone that finds a vehicle can drive it off, so finding good spots to hide them is essential. (WE DO NOT HIDE THEM OFF MAP!). The bicycle/ATV/off road truck are great for looking for more vehicles. But like everything in this game, don't get attached to your pixels. And the ATV flips over very easy, so watch yourself if driving one.... The save vehicle feature only helps if the server crashes, any player that moves a vehicle, it stays where they got out. And ridding in a vehicle that crashes(or has a front wheel shot out) can kill you, at the least you will be broken and bleeding.

I understand that spawning in the debug wasteland is the current solution to people disconnecting to avoid combat. I however have a different perspective on this. On the server i run, i have been sent to the wasteland several times now. I log out to the lobby, log-in to admin panel, and log back into the server to announce server restarts, and my reward for being polite is spawning in the debug wasteland. I have also been stuck at loading for 5min+, so when i shut down my client, and log in again, POOF wasteland. I understand this is an alpha mod, and enjoy playing it a lot. However my frustration at having to run out of debug(not always possible) and or respawning is taking any "FUN" out of the game. Do i have a solution, sorry no. I wish i had some brilliant solution, but i do not. I simply want to play this game without getting waste landed for doing the right thing. anger vented, now to run out of the wasteland.......uggggggg.
