    We'll again I don't know if this has come up before... checked the forum so. OK, so here we go: Imagine, you come across a tent. You check it for loot and you find yourself in need of a blood bag. Now here it comes, how cool would it be that you would be able to leave a note in the tent and leave a message like: “Borrowed a blood bag, left a can of beans for you” or “If I were you, I’d get the f*ck out of here because I’m camping out here now” I personally think it would be a fun feature to the game; maybe it can be acquired after finding an item like, a notebook? Or something alike. What do you guys think about this? I’d like some feedback on this and if some players like this maybe we can get Rocket’s attention on this because I’d really like to see this in the game :D ADDED: Messageboard in or around cities that can be used to put up notes, like bounties and warnings for example! -idea thanks to Hulahuga! Thanks! ---------EDIT------------ Ok it seems like this idea has come up before in the idea of: chalk http://dayzmod.com/f...ther-survivors/ messages http://dayzmod.com/f...leave-messages/ but in this way people would just be polluting the world in my opinion. With a notebook it would be limited to the ability to create a "note" as a item that can be dropped in tents or vehicles. And to read it you'd have to put it in you inventory, right click and "read note". Like I said, i'd like to see this ingame though I have no Idea of how hard such a feature could be to implement.

    Is that so bad then? why leave out a fun feature because halve of the community is underage or just plain childish? Will you write notes like that? Because I won't, I'm a decent Dayz player AND I refuse to believe that this community is just a bunch of kids and childish people that will abuse the first moment they get to share the word "penis" with the rest of Chernarus + Notes should be limited in quantity and also limited in where they can be put up. You'r only supposed to be able the place notes at certain locations like in tents, cars or a message board.

    Yeah you know the notebook is like, just a concept. Indeed I do agree that the notebook should indeed have a limited amount of notes in it. BTW the bounties are not supposed to be automated in my opinion, just like leaving a note like: "player X is camping out Berezino, I offer X loot to the one who gets him" I'd rather use the messageboard like "Broken legs, low on blood, need help, grid coordinates xxx-xxx, I'll offer you my X loot" Might be a trap, might be a person in need of help, might be an easy target, the player decides. Nothing should be automated in this game in my opinion.

    Yeah indeed the message board would just be a place to stick them, I was just pointing out that the message board isn't necessarily needed to use the notes. But still damn I love the idea of a message board in cities or mabye at the entrance of the city, like the back of the traffic boards that can be used to pin up notes. :D

But if you might have actually red my topic you would have seen that I did found others and I mentioned them. I'll even add the link of them in this topic just for you and if I could I would merge them... So thanks for your comment and next time try to post something usefull, cause I have a feeling that probably 75% of the post you make are just "use the search"

    Well anywayz, thanks for the comments so far! I'dd still prefer a notebook over chalk, the messageboard isn't needed to use the notebook. In the first instance i'd use the notes just to leave a message in tents and cars, places where you are pretty sure of that other players will read it sooner or later.

    Does it need to have a purpose? What if it's just fun. What if you put up a message in somebodies tent to let them know they aren't alone. Don't just shoot down ideas like a bandit with .50 cal like that :P

    OMG you'r a genius! That would be awesome, a messageboard, in cities where indeed players would be able to put the notes on a messageboard. That way we could leave a message in a city without polluting the world. That would work awesome with the notebook :D Although still, bandits might camp messageboards... but hey bandits camp everthing so! +1 for paranoia!

    Yeah it's awesome to leave a message and that is one way to do it! But a note would be SO awesome, just thinking about the look of the player's face that finds out that somebody was there by reading your note :P
  18. We'll this might have been brought up before but I don't think in the same way as I would suggest it. Just imagine, you respawn and right after choosing if you’re male or female you get to choose a profession and/or character “trait” which you practiced during your live before the infected apocalypse. But hear me out! I’m not gonna start rambling about different skill sets because in my opinion a skillbar or something like a huge perk tree would destroy the players emersion into the game. What I’m talking about is just giving your character a bit of a background story so that you can relate easier to your character (or not at all if you want to) and in that way also giving you something in return to show for your old life in the form of different starting gear depending on what profession and “trait” you chose while respawning. First of all I don’t like the idea of starting with weapons so that’s out of the question. (Also if one choice would grand you a starting weapon then everybody would be picking that specific choice just to get the weapon so that’s a no go) For example: (gear listed below is added extra to the starting gear that we spawn with now days) -Past profession: Mechanic => spawns with a toolbox Doctor => spawns with a shot of morphine Hunter/forest ranger => spawns with a hunting knife Soldier => spawns with a water bottle Office worker/ pizza boy/ every day job => spawns with a watch ….. -Past traits: Smoker=> spawns with matches Afraid of the dark=> spawns with a military flashlight instead of a normal flashlight Raver => spawns with every color of chemlight there is in the game… LOL Drug addiction=> spawns with a box of painkillers Prepper: “I told you so!” => spawns with a can of beans … Well I guess you guys get the idea, some feedback or some more past professions and traits would be nice^^ note: pardon my English I’m used to speaking Dutch. EDIT: Examples given are just examples, It's about the idea ^^
  19. Well, even if these bolts would be stackable. I still think this wouldn't do the crossbow any honor. The crossbow has to little range in my opinion and the iron sight is a bit.. sloppy. And hell yeah I want my bolts back when I fire them! :D

    Cool, didn't know mount & blade worked that way. I just see this suggestion as an easy and not to drastic way to "customize" your character.

    I don't mind if he's taking his time, promoting a game is also an important part of creating a game in the end. A larger player base makes for more fun :D This kinda reminds me of Guild wars 2, i've been waiting for it since 2007, the year Arena net announced they started working on GW2. 5 Years later it is ready for release... but they did it for a purpose, to present the best game they could. And they did. And so will rocket, In time. I mean compared to the full GW2 team, rocket is working and releasing patches at light speed, believe me we'll survive a week or two without new patches or updates. I just hope Rocket shows the world what DayZ is all about.

    Oh ok, in that case it probably was because of server hopping, I kept getting the same over and over again, but each time I tried on a different server because stupid me thought it was some thing server related. Thanks!
