Play a community server that has base raid rules. Some even have discord notices when someone is near your base so someone on your team has a chance to log on and defend.

Cars are def one of the worst parts of the game for most servers. There are a handful of community servers that they run fairly smooth on. Things like no buried loot and low to normal loot pools help. Servers that are 50 slot and lower also seem to run better sometimes.

Official all have the same loot levels. You have one character that goes with you to every server, but you spawn in a new spot every time you change. Community servers each have different loot levels, amount of zombies, and day to night times. Some have fully built cars that just need water and gas put in, some even spawn in with a base building kit in it. You also have a separate character for each server you join. If you play a empty or very low pop server first you will get a feel for the game faster. Try a bunch out till you find a few that run smooth and have the loot ect that your looking for. Some servers are pve only as well. Once you get the hang of staying alive, have shot a ton of zombies so you kinda have a feel for the gun play (its not pubg)...hope on a high pop and start having fun.

Start on one with low pop. Just about all the community servers after the first 5 pages are pretty quite. Give you a chance to learn some of the map, crafting and dealing with zombies. Find one with cars that spawn in built and you can cruise around the map with relative ease. If the server is laggy or runs like garbage move on to another one. To build pvp skills join a deathmatch server. If you don't have it install IZurvive on your phone or tablet. It's a very handy map for dayz.

Get a xbox one X or a newer series s/x if you can afford it. The better frame rates will be worth it. A ssd helps but really it boils down to the server your playing on. The closer it is to you the better. Most official servers run ok but some are better then others. Community servers are all over the place...from totally unplayable to super stable. The ones with buried loot disabled and lightly modded are running quite smooth these days. So basically, get the best console you can afford and server hop till you find a few that run nice... One last free tip, trust no one in Dayz...ever! Lol.

Try posting in the troubleshooting section or report it as a bug. I've had a few codes pop up over the years, they usually get resolved in a day or two.

Not sure if this is the same as what your experiencing, several times my character has frozen in place for 20 to 30 sec. Can't do anything. Once while fighting zombies, luckily I was playing with someone and they took care of things till I unfroze. The other time I was just running across a field when it happened. Both times it unfroze on it's own. Also, my character reverted to the standing idle animation while frozen...

Try letting them know on twitter, that gets more attention then the forum. I see you reported it as a bug already which also helps. It does happen every once in while, but not to common. Can be a few days before it comes back, depends on what happened to it...

If your building a base in dayz your just posting a big sign saying "I want action and I have rewards for you if you win". Would be nice to have way better placement for sure. Some private servers offer kill feeds, kinda like dog tags. Not sure what one would do with them in a game like dayz? The way the loot system/death works makes them seem a bit unworkable. Most of that junk loot is slowly becoming usable and in some-cases valuable as the game changes. Plus its fun to kill someone and laugh at all the crap they picked up. Newbies to the game grab everything they come across. I hear ya on the cars. Wish they worked better, but in a way I'm glad they don't. Keeps them a rare sight and makes people think twice about using them. Not sure the game would be the same with cars buzzing all over the place!

Yeah, the zombie loot is def a bit of a pain now. You can drag the item to the ground then pick it up. Saves having to drop your gun...

If you can run back before your body despawns, yes. You have about 40ish mins. Thats providing you didn't die under the map or flying thru the air. If that happens, most times your body is gone. Dying to glitches is just part of dayz. Whether by cars, getting stuck on a door, lagging zombies, ghost bullets and my favorite...glitched hands. It's a love hate type of relationship for sure!

Server runs really good most of the time, lots of action and a good player base!

Have you reset your mission xml to default and restarted your server?

Many many times...some folks hang around the spawn spots to prey on the freshies. Just the way it is.

I've noticed a few issues like desync (they are still working on that) server performance, (esp with cars...still) and server crashes. But fortunately have had no issues with fireplaces in houses...capture a vid of it happening and send it to the devs, (xbox will save 2min of past gameplay in one capture) little things like that help them solve pesky issues!

One thing to get runned down by a car, that makes for a good story...not so much to get coasted by getting into a car your trying to fix up. Feel your pain, just had a character that had been going for over a month get nailed by getting into a car. Fairly stable server as well. One never knows...

Ouch, thats a hard bit of advice...
