As I said in the post, this has happened on private hive servers too.

Last three characters I've played, going perfectly well, kitted up, living out in the wilderness away from any player populated areas, even at the very edges of the map. I'll be running through the woods, suddenly, player pops in front of me with a ghillie and a sniper and one shots me in the head, then pops out again. Sometimes I don't even see them, just walking around in the middle of nowhere and BAM headshot with a sniper, dead. This happens on regular servers and private hive servers. I once even questioned someone on what they were doing in the woods at the edge of the map one of the occasions I didn't even see them, their reply? "Hacking.". They weren't banned from the server, admins seem to be just tolerating it now. This has gotten boring, you can play 6 hours or more and get one shotted by some cunt who thinks they are being uber 1337 by cheating. When this goes standalone, there's only one solution to this problem, if you are found hacking? Lifetime ban from every server. Either play by the rules like everyone else or don't play at all. I don't care if you paid $50 for the standalone game, in the old west you'd take a bullet in the face for cheating at a game, $50 is small price to pay for cheating. How to deal with the legal side? State in the end user agreement that if you are caught cheating you will be permanently banned from the game. Done. Hackers have ruined this game and unless there is a halfway decent anti cheating system in the standalone and an actual penalty for cheating to the degree that cheaters simply aren't allowed to play, I'm not buying it. I'd be more annoyed but at the moment it's free so I can't really complain. If I'd paid money for this hacker infested joke of a game, I'd be royally pissed.

So yesterday I tried joining my usual server (UK12) and it wasn't showing up in the server list. Checked my filter, all was correct, it just wasn't showing. Now today NO servers are showing up at all! What's going on?

Came across this guy (Mazzer) mooching around a suspicious looking ammo crate in Electro, started recording after he left and thought the better of touching the pile of weapons inside. Don't know if it was him that spawned it or if he took any weapons, just watched him look through it for about a minute.

Without having to start over? As in, if I change the name in my player setting in Arma II, will I start as a new character when joining a server?

You don't ever want to be shot while you're in Barrack. Photos of you engaging in lewd acts with the US president tend to cause some major scandals.

I've just done an extensive fly over in editor mode and found nothing. The only point of interest near the rocks that could be described as the rocks "leading" to it is the hill on which the Manhattan base sits in the vanilla campaign. Obviously the Manhattan base is absent in editor mode. If it really was there, it's part of the DayZ mod, currently there's no way to view the DayZ map in single player, even then a lot of it is randomly generated and constantly changing.

Watch "The Road". When the world as we know it ends there's nothing to live for except for keeping the flame and carrying on down that road :P
