So after 5 years, my 1080ti blacked out on me yesterday and is not recognized in UEFI anymore. To replace it, I am currently eyeing various easter offers. A nice looking one is a Sapphire 7900GRE. Seem to have nice bang for the buck and also it got buffed considerably by recent AMD drivers. Then I remembered that in the recent past there were serious FPS and texture issues with AMD GPUs in DayZ . Being on team green for the last 5 years, I never had to deal with this, so I´m unsure If I should switch vendors. DayZ is my main game nowadays. Can anybody confirm if this is still going on or did AMD fix the issues with 7XXX GPUs? Is there a workaround maybe? Thank you for some feedback!

0x00040031 consistently on two newly purchase Steam installations
DrzZzZt replied to E-Slayer's topic in Troubleshooting
- If you didn´t play it yet, i´d recommend to be patient and check the game first. It´s ten years old and still in active development, gets better every update. In 2023 we had four of those. Dont miss out cause of that hiccup - we´ve seen whorse times in DayZ. Way. -
0x00040031 consistently on two newly purchase Steam installations
DrzZzZt replied to E-Slayer's topic in Troubleshooting
Sadly, this is a fairly old problem, happens at least since 2022 but keeps reappearing from time to time. Today I had no luck with the common workarounds, shutting down overlays, running launcher(s) or Steam as admin etc. I played normally yesterday, today got a Steam Cloud state difference warning and steam asked to choose between the last known good cloud save and a more recent one on the local machine. I chose the cloud state from yesterday, after that the 0x00040031 appeared.Seems to affect a lot of people, all official servers are mostly empty. I hope they look into this. -
Same here. Game worked yesterday without problems. Today, first Steam complained about different save-states in Steam Cloud and gave me a choice which one to reinstate. Took the last known working in Steam cloud from yesterday, not the local one. After that, got the [00040031] error. Until now I have not been able to fix it. Btw: I run no overlays, nothing else. I tried the official and DAYZSA Launchers, both normal and as admin. No luck. All workarounds suggested online failed.

Hi, I saw people complaining in this thread about the "new gas zone exclusivity" of high tier rifles - I cannot confirm that, seems like I hit an exeption or so it seems: Got a DMR, a FAL and an AUR-A1 fom one military convoy in Kumyrna the other day, which is only a tier II area. So if FAL/DMR spawn there, they should also spawn at helis and military trains, maybe even the new military crates at NWAF, no? So I cannot follow the complaining, these rifles should be rare after all but as of now are not limited to gas zones. I don´t know how to check the loot table of those heli/convoy/crate events, can anybody confirm this? Otherwise: - the new skybox is beautiful , adds some much needed atmosphere, thank you! - the "pushing the car" feature is a clever "in theme-workaraound" for stuck cars, but for cars flipped on the roof it should not work, at least not for a single player alone. When flipped on top, you should need more people (or another car for example) to flip it on the wheels again. But anyway, better a workaround than the former hassle with car doors an such, so thank you, i guess.... - the new headgear has some toxic resistance according to the patchnotes - but unclear what exactly that means - Are cuts less or slower appearing while in gas zones? Can you elaborate if it´s gas-tight or works like or close to nbc hood? - very happy you people STILL put in the continuous work in my favourite game! I don´t play much these days, so its super cool to find something new has happened every time. Thank you all a lot!

I like the change! Its way harder to get the bigger bags early on, seems like the large mountain backpacks you could find at the coast in recent patches are tier3+ area loot now.

I noticed the changed weapon sounds of supressed pistols. couldn´t find specifics in the patchnotes except: "Changed: Improved the fire geometry for several firearms" The shots sound longer now,. My question is if only the sound changed or also how far the shots could be heard ?

Well no, that´s not what I wanted to express. Given the six hours or so, that I played 1.19, I´d rather describe the experience as "works for me". Look, I´m a casual who doesn´t have a lot of time anymore to play the game and I´m far from saying that all is good with DayZ. All I wanted is to give some general feedback on the changes, make some suggestions and express some gratitude for what the devs spent the last three to four months of their worklife on. During my playtime, I had a blast with 1.19. If I´d be playing more hours or wanted to run a server community for example, I´d probably have different needs and expectations regarding the gamestate and stability as well. Quite different perspectives. You´re welcome.

Sadly I was killed twice trying to enter the bunker, so I am salty and cannot comment on the inside experience. I like the changes with vehicles a lot. The stability even on full (official) servers is way better for me and flying issues and jumping are no longer noticable, although I didn´t try a lot to provoke them in the limited time I had. It was quite fun trying to drift around curves with the Gunter and Ada on Chernarus and Livonia. Of course I crashed some cars, but that was mostly to not seeing obstacles/treestumps and no noticable glitch issues. The Radiator isnt fixable but I was able to find a few in bigger towns easily and when I repaired the car, I looted a vehicle part stash before driving more risky. Even died through collision and ran back to drag my body out of the car, loot myself and after repairing, carried on. Driving a car makes you a shooting gallery. Although that seems standard on official servers nowadays, car or not. Most people I met tried to KOS me. But I digress.... Also I like the reduced durability of items even if that makes the repair items more valuable and mandatory to carry. Its sad, that we cannot repair some tools, like hammers, gardening hoes, pickaxes and shovels yet, though I think it would be logical to be able to repair them. Single Item or a combination like an axe + plank, (to make a new stick for the tool) or a whetstone to sharpen the metal could be done with existing methods. Considering the crowbar and saws are already repairable with a whetstone, I hope the other items stay on the list for a method to be added to them as well. Please consider making the basebuilding Items more durable on use. It just doesnt seem right that a pristine shovel is used up as quickly as it is, while shoveling crates. Alternatively the tools could wear down slower, if used for their "intended" purpose vs using them as a weapon. The Addition of the blowtorch makes me hope there is more good things to come. Being able to repair the cooking pot is a much needed addition. The average lower quality guns you find is a challenging change too. Equals more decisions to make, depending on what you already found. Together with the fact that ammo is found in smaller stacks and its harder to find high caliber rounds in the lower loot tier zones now, I might for example take the badly damaged CR-527 over a damaged SSG-82 because the ammo for the CR is more common in lower loot tier zones and weapon cleaning kits are more common than before. Overall a massive Update with a lot of improvements. The Devs deserve some respect here, although of course theres more stuff left to fix. But as a 2k hour casual longtimer, I am happy with the progress. Next please: Improve base building and repair patch, with a Bunker on Chernarus :)

To clarify: I was referring to shouldered weapons touching your gear, (i.e. like mags in vest) while you move. There´s already a sound in the game when you shoulder a weapon and move. I meant that this sound should be as well considered for your noise level, not only boots/surfaces. Anybody knows how it is in 1.15? And what about other sounds like sneezing while sick? Do the infected react to that as well?

Yesterday I arrived at a roadbblock/bunker with six infected at daytime in Livonia in assault boots. I wanted to go for stealthkills and one of them noticed me like 15m away crouchwalking on grass while i was behind him and started to scream. Soon enough I was chased by five and had to run for the next barricade and jump on it to get safe. While I think they are probably a little too aware in this patch, I definitely like the challenge and the direction this is going. Infected need to be hard but I think the grass should a) not lead to detection while crouching out of their line of sight or b) you should be able to be a little closer on soft surfaces. This case was just a little too harsh/unplausible. I agree that on hard surfaces it should be hard to sneak by, maybe even depending on how much gear you carry. Also weapons make sounds too when shouldered, so that should be in the mix as well, not only the boots/ ground surface.

I like the Afghanistan/Desert/Mountain-theme and played the map for 8 hours coward-PvP-like over the weekend. Looted around until I got a blaze with a scope, then hide out in the high ground rocks or buildings and cowardly shot players from long distances. Run down to loot and hide again camping for more. Got some Karma by breaking a leg from a fall down the rocks and died in a sandstorm in the process while crawling for sticks. So kinda PvE at the end. Aside from being a snipers paradise, its also its harder to hide a base with these long viewranges. To carry logs around the map is a little suicidal. Sure, you could set up a car or take the shovel and dig in some crates if you find one. On modded servers like the one from KarmaKrew, the basebuilding supplies are kinda hard to find. The basebuilding needs some more love in the future. The small amount of foliage on Takistan makes you very visible and I agree it can get boring. On Takistan you can regulary shoot at the 300m+ range and fire 10 Shots from a sniper where in other maps you may have a way smaller number of sniped shots at players before they vanish into the forest. There are some high ground rock formations, even with military loot and cave-like structures where you can go. But once thats common knowledge they become hotspots too. The temperature-spread could be a little more, hotter at daytime and colder at nighttime to be challenging. Some mods were fun like the can of "unknown food" - found this first and ate it, but got sick.... Food is not really scarce but once it is, this is a nice trade-off. So nice work in general, finally you can feel lost again in a map. But like everything in the game this could use continous polishing in the future.

I can has DayZ Roadmap 2021 for Birthday!?!
DrzZzZt replied to DrzZzZt's topic in General Discussion
They had me at "sev", I guess! :D Thanx for pointing that one out. I may or may not have been intoxicated writing that post. Oh well, wishful thinking it was for sure. Anyway, something new yet? Ah, server Maintenance....well *bumps head against wall* -
You said "early next year" and "is being finalized", which was... in December.....so it´s kinda early in the year, tomorrow it will already be a little less early! 🙂 The BI Newsletter talked about 7 planned Updates if I remember correctly - Sounds ambitious but those can be smaller Updates than the ones from last year. Pretty please? Communication? Something? It´s my birthday and I want my cake!

would try it out but DayZ Livonia EU-UK-0-1 and -0-3 servers are password protected?
-
I can confirm the tents but it didn´t happen to me with shelters yet, which someone also described a few posts earlier. Last time it was on the 24.11. on "DayZ Livonia EU-UK 0-1" When I logged in, the two yellow/red party tents in my base in a small metal shed factory (two blue double doors) packed themselves and the loot already despawned. One Tent was also empty before, the other full. But that was before the last hotfix, so dunno if it might be correlated to the various server problems.

No offense, I get what you´re saying. If I spent that much time and effort giving the devs feedback and meaning well for a community of players I care about, I´d probably had it myself by now as well. Been on and of at the game myself over the years, having played some 2000 hours by now, so I remember the vehicles were playing better back when they were client side. But during all that that time since the mod, there were some serious challenges to the devs we tend to forget that made it hard for the game to be were maybe other studios could have taken it the same time since 2014 - IF developement went smooth and constantly, that is. All that developement time becomes 3 years quickly when you think about it, because they completely rewrote central elements of the game engine over the years, while suffering different positional changes in the dev-team and probably wasted two dev-leads on the way. Yet here we are, its still BI not having forgot about the game and delivering constant progress in challenging times, probably with devs multi developing other BI titles as well. Must be a reason they are hireing all the time. All that is not a dev problem. It´s the management that makes these decisions and the devs are mostly asked things like "what can you deliver until Febuary next year, ´cause thats how long the funds last - Oh btw, surprise, stop what you´re doing, in Q1/21, its time for DLC-Namalsk, so divert devtime to that already". Management mostly doesn´t care for games in the first place. Management cares for bottom lines first. The devs COULD indeed give more feedback aka "we hear you but. *problem* is gonna take *timframe* until we start to even take a closer look at it". But all they could really tell us at the moment (if they would be allowed to) is probably "doing crunchtime on Arma4, Ylands, Vigor and DayZ, positioning our games vs. the competition, hoping to be home by christmas". Most of the time, if a problem in a game is too big and takes too much time to fix profoundly (like vehicles, i guess) it´s rather a management/funding decision to do/don´t do it and there´s management people with different motivations involved. So I wouldn´t bash the devs too hard, enjoy what they did for now and trust that the game gets there one day. I really hope the conditions at BI are not as I described them, but they may very well be. Just my 2 cents to consider.

It´s not really complaining, its pointing out and making suggestions aka giving contstructive feedback. Also the tone of your comments suggests that you´re really p****d off by the constant nuisance that ist flying cars. As most other commenters pointed out already this is a combination of issues, which probably aren´t fixable within the scope of one game update. But the comments regarding the visualisations certainly are. Connected to the issue is the handling of cargo (barrel in hand on drivers seats anyone?) and the future handling of handguns (shooting out of windows was already announced, so it´s probably coming at some point) and possibly handling cargo within the car (going to your inventory). At this point in the developement, I think that the devs rather aim for fully resolving an issue or coding content, than for simple cosmetics, so the chance for just having them remove the sticking out guns isn´t plausible as they would have to devote someone with that rather minor task. If you see what they did with the truck, and the attachement slots of it, you also see progress. I don´t know about you but for me, as long as the game is moving forward, I am happy with what happens and speculate that they just couldn´t amass the devtime to fix the bigger issues, like proper netcode and server side implementation of vehicles. Yes it sucks, but I doubt that they haven´t noticed it by now. So I trust that they are gonna do something about it in the future and when the wonky car starts to happen while driving, I break and shut off the engine. Works most of the time.

Awesome Guys! I like what you made in 2020 despite all the hassle that pandemia must´ve been for developement. Don´t listen to the naysayers, keep polishing and DayZ will get there. With vehicles, bows, servers running on multiple cores and all the other stuff that´s still amiss. That list IS getting shorter. Keep it up! THANK YOU!
