Morphine can spawn any where military loot can spawn, but military loot only has a .8% chance to spawn in residential areas and then on top of that it has another 1% chance to spawn in that pile. Industrial areas have Military loot 3.92% Morphine Auto-Injector on that pile 0.99% reference - http://dayzdb.com/map

This game has a very Minecraft feel to it, both games plop you out in the wilderness and its up to you to survive. Once people got to end game in Minecraft people starting banding together making factions. - Claim Land - Build a Base - Gather Supplies - Then Raid other bases! I can see this happening in DayZ and it would seem a lot more fun here. Can't wait till people start making faction bases!

Cherno/Elektro too easy on low pop servers
clintmbaptiste@gmail.com replied to clintmbaptiste@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Still though.. anyone could abuse this and it ruins the whole point of the game... loot should always be scarce. Maybe loot could be reduced in cities on low pop servers. -

Ya one idea mentioned I heard about there being 1 central server and then it phases out 50 people to their own area. That would be perfect. -
So, what am I doing wrong?
clintmbaptiste@gmail.com replied to dakaa's topic in New Player Discussion
Cherno and Elektro is the best place to start out for loot, period. First off you need to acquire morphine, if you engage zombies without you might as well be dead. Second, you can easily be in and out without ever being seen and have a full pack of loot in less than 20mins. If you can do this at the start, especially since you have NOTHING TO LOSE, you will be better of in the long run. Plus its a ton of fun, I love starting a new character cuz I get to go mess around in the big cities again for no consequence. -
[Guide] Pro Tips for Starting Out

Never had a zombie aggro eating or drinking and I do it constantly... hmm. Guess I won't be changing my FOV then, thanks. You should always be carrying a Water Canteen and Meat on you, there is no room for cans of food or soda. Always drink the Soda immediately so you don't have to drink from your Canteen, the Canteen is for when you are blinking red. There is soooo much soda to be found... hardly ever do I even get to the blinking point unless I been running a long time. If you do have to drink from your Canteen your first priority should be to go fill it back up. Like I said, canteen is emergencies only. Thanks for the other tips, the zombie one is good. I already consider that when playing, just didn't think about it. -

If you are having a hard time with the Crossbow then might want to stick with an Axe. I'll add some Axe tips later. Can clear towns with the Axe alone taking minimal damage if you walk backwards and melee at the same time. -

Sidechat and broken bones
clintmbaptiste@gmail.com replied to DeadManDan's topic in New Player Discussion
Even though Required build was commented out was the server still running the 93965 files? So you could essentially have 93965 with side chat and have no problems or would it actually run 1.60 files? Yes' date=' the server was updated with the latest Arma 2 and DayZ beta files. We discovered that because requiredBuild was commented out, clients running older versions of the Arma2 Beta could connect. (A hacker came into our server. He was invisible and invulnerable to gunshots.) This problem was cleared up when I erased the 2 forward slashes and requiredBuild began enforcing clients to have the latest arma2 beta patch. Edit: Also, certain people could use side chat in game while almost everyone else could not. That was the other clue for us. These people had older versions of Arma 2 installed. [/quote'] Cool man, thanks for clearing that up. I was really worried about all the servers with different versions and what not. -

Ah man... seriously the crossbow is godlike if you learn how to use it properly, like I said it just takes some practice. I've cleared whole towns of zombies without making a single noise or taking any damage or aggro... Gonna add some tips for Crossbows Tips added for Crossbows -

So the servers with side chat only require Arma 2 beta 1.60... This kind of makes me concerned, wouldn't an outdated patch be bad and hurt the integrity of the game? or what gives?

Servers requiring beta 1.60
clintmbaptiste@gmail.com replied to clintmbaptiste@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have all my files up to date, there are several servers out there running the latest DayZ files but not Arma 2 beta so it can have side chat. It allows you to side chat even though the server is out of date. EDIT: found a post explaining more in the newb section http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=19800&pid=190159#pid190159 -

Camps and Vehicles section has been revised to allow quicker access to vehicles. Soon as you have an Axe, Knife, Matches and a 16-slot backpack your main priority should be finding a vehicle to repair. -

There should be two options when rightclicking the Axe on toolbelt bar. Harvest Wood and Remove from Toolbelt. You want to choose "Remove from Toolbelt" If not then something is wrong... respawn and try again or double check to see if your DayZ and Arma 2 beta files are up to date. -
Rule #2 of DayZ - Don't go anywhere without Morphine and Bandages. Sooooo.... you might as well be dead! Just Hit Esc and choose Respawn. Find more rules and tips here... http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=20578

Cool, glad its being helpful! Sure have seen an influx of people to Cherno and Elektro today lol. Thinking of switching up the survival part of the guide, getting tired of running everywhere! Got Sniped earlier so I had to start over, soon as I get a bigger backpack gonna try to repair a vehicle.
