Well in the latest patch they did some loot balancing maybe that will help. also, i have not find it hard to find weapons, ran across 3 AKM's on my last run, they didn't have ammo though. Try looting barns and deer stands, maybe they have a higher chance for you.

Well, best bet is that he could press Escape and click on Respawn. admins won't change position often, and dieing isn't the worst that can happen. -
Isn't that the same as if they would just take a normal inventory spot like flares? and you can throw them from there.

This would be a great addition to the game, yet I think there should be a way to spot the boxes, like a leafe pile covering up the box that is hidden underground, so you still have a chance that other people will spot it and steal stuff. having a completely impossible to find box wouldn't be such a good idea in my opinion. yet the boxes have to be hard to find, maybe craftable(?) like 4 piles of wood and a toolbox to make a box. then you have to get a spade to dig the box underground.

Yeah seems like you are spawned in Debug Hills, there should be a way out of it by running.

With "no gear" do you mean completely nothing? Not even a bandage or pain killer? Because after last patch you don't spawn with a gun anymore, and getting spawned in the wilderness could just be bad luck.

I use six updater, it's noted on the DayZ download page, makes it a lot easier for me to update because it automatically updates the Beta. you should try it, just go to Download on the DayZ homepage, and select Six Updater thingy. there is a guide below it how to use it.
