2 updates have pushed through in the last couple of months and VOIP still doesn't work. Are the devs actually working on this or is it lip service? Not trying to be rude, but if they aren't working on fixing it I may as well sell the disk. The game is just not fun if the only interaction I can have with other players is at the end of a gun barrel.

just downloaded the game, need help!

When you're a fresh spawn with nothing, fruit trees are your friends. They're everywhere when in towns and you should be able to find enough to survive the first day on fruit alone. You may have to check 10 or more trees to find an apple, pear or plum, but it beats starving. Open your inventory while standing next to a fruit tree trunk so you don't miss any. Also, when in the wilderness, you can find elderberries on medium and small bushes. I discovered this by accident as I was hiding from a hostile group. Same as fruit, stand or crouch next to bushes and open your inventory to see if any are there. As stated above, you'll more easily get a footing on a sparsely populated server. Once you have gear, favorite the server and find a spot that you can return to easily but isn't well-traveled and begin burying gear in dry bags/packs or crates. Make sure you don't forget where you buried everything. If you get killed, you can just reapawn, find a shovel and head to your cache to re-gear. Always keep a pair of sneakers or light hiking boots in your inventory. You will wear out your shoes and it sucks to bleed out while looking for shoes. Try not to ever use an unsuppressed gun on zombies. It draws more in and also alerts other players to your location. -
Will do. Edit: didn't work. Any other ideas?

I already reached out to customer service and the reply I received was "our devs are aware of the problem and are working on it." That would be fine if it were a PS4 problem universally, but this doesn't seem to be a PS4 problem, just a "me" problem.

So, my in-game comms don't work and when I check the Online players, my character isn't ticked for "VOIP enabled." Prioritize game chat is enabled on console and I'm able to chat in every other game I play. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, unplugging the console for 24 hours, and checked all the settings on the console. My internet is fast enough that I rarely get in-game lag so that shouldn't be a problem. Voice test on the console works fine and all settings are turned on. I've also tried multiple headsets; PS Gold, Runmus, and Turtle Beach. What am I missing?

Yup, your boots are ruined. I always carry a pair of lightweight shoes in my pack, i.e. trail shoes, to use until I can find some good boots. Always a good idea to periodically check the status of your shoes, blouse, pants, and pack.

Thanks for the update and quickness regarding this on the consoles.

So I take it that this isn't a PS4 problem universally? I'm just a special hard case? lol. Maybe I should try uninstalling the game and re-installing after my next death? I'm really frustrated with this because my coms work on every other game I've played. -

Correct. I'm listed in the "online" section of pause as VOIP not enabled. I've checked every setting on my PS4 console, tried multiple headsets including PS Gold, Runmus, and Turtle Beach, set party chat to "prioritize game chat", etc. Still can't communicate with other players which usually results in a firefight/skirmish. I reported the problem to BI and the response was, "The developers are aware of this problem and are working on it." That was over a month ago. -

And yet, they still haven't addressed the lack of in-game comms on PS4. -
I'm having the same problem. I've tried 2 different headsets, PS Gold and Runmus, both brand new and the voice tests on console were successful. I don't have Party chat active so that shouldn't be a problem, but just in case I created a party and ticked the prioritize game chat option. Still can't communicate with other players. Any suggestions? Also, when I look at the "online" in-game, I'm not listed as having VOIP enabled. Kind of taking alot of the fun out of the game not being able to chat with other players. Any help would be appreciated because I've gone through every setting on my console and in the game and can't figure out what's wrong.
