See Title. It would be awesome if we could physically attach gas masks to our characters belt, just like canteen, sheath and holster. Being able to see a players gear is such a neat piece of this game, and functionally, in the real world military/police/contractors already wear gas-masks in pouches on their belt or attached to their leg for quick and secure access. Bringing over this little bit of realism would be fantastic in my opinion.

Yep, that was in the game at one time! That would be nice to have back as well 🙂

Food scarcity is good; Caloric value and time to starve is not

See title. Sawed-off double barrel shotgun is awesome. Naturally, sawing-off the BK 133 would be just as cool. Take a look below for some inspo:

Wow! I appreciate that information, I was really struggling to understand the fine line between the physical realm and a digital space representing an apocalyptic reality! I will make sure to go and take my critiques of a system which in my opinion is poorly balanced, and make sure to only apply such discussions to real life systems. When do you think Life patch 2.0 might be deployed? Maybe we can ask the life devs if they would be interested in implementing things like the ability to fly, never sleep, and breathing under water? -

I'm glad you successfully identified hyperbole 😄 -
Food scarcity is good; Caloric value and time to starve is not

Food scarcity is great. It forces players to move, try new towns, grow a garden, hunt and fish. Sometimes it even helps payers interact in the form of sharing a can or two with a stranger. What sucks currently, is just how terrible food's caloric value is. I mean one human in DayZ could eat a side of cow, an entire garden, and seven cans of peaches, and they would still be hungry. That just ain't right. Not only ain't it right, its down right silly. A general rule of survival is the rule of 3's. Humans can die of exposure after 3 hours of no shelter. Humans could die of dehydration after 3 days with no water. Humans could starve to death after three weeks of no food. Sure, there's lots of factors that go into survival, and environment, body type, overall health etc can wildly change the way those basic needs play out, but its still a good thing to keep in mind in survival situations. So why is it that we can't travel 100 kilometers in DayZ without starving to death? Today I spawned on the cost just south of Solnichniy. I spent a brief amount of time in town looking for food, but it had clearly been wiped out. I ate my spawn plum and headed west towards Dolina. Straight shot, not sprinting, preserving stamina, and I barely made it to Dolina before completely starving to death. That is just down right silly. Obviously the game cant have us living off of one can of beans a week, but there should be a better level of "needs" so we aren't consuming a comically high amount of food items. Surely, there has to be a middle ground between "I ate one pea today and I feel great" and "HOLY HELL I JUST ATE A WHOLE HERD OF CATTLE AND THAT WAS JUST THE APPETIZER!" -
Bandage Rework: Continual application, and bandaging while prone.
Badwolvie posted a topic in Suggestions
Players can bundle up to 6 rags for bandages, why do we have to waste time when bleeding out starting and stopping the bandaging animation? If a player has a stack of bandages equipped and is wounded with an amount equal to or less then the total number of stacked bandages, the player should be able to hold down the "apply bandage" button and continuously use said bandages until all wounds are treated. If there are more wounds then bandages (in a equipped stack), then the player should of course select a new stack before continuing to treat their wounds. Secondly: Players should be able to bandage while prone. Perhaps to maintain balance, the bandaging animation (while prone) could take double the amount of time it takes while crouched or standing. just a thought. -

Re-enable ability to wear balaclava's/ski-masks with motorcycle helmets.
Badwolvie replied to Badwolvie's topic in Suggestions
no need for an attachment! Motorcycle helmet fills helmet slot, where as balaclava fills face slot. Currently nothing works in face slot while wearing a motorcycle helmet. It used to though. so a strange change considering it never showed up in the patch notes. -
Re-enable ability to wear balaclava's/ski-masks with motorcycle helmets.

It is of course possible, but as someone who wore that combination all the time, it really was one of the best fitting combos available in terms of the lack of clipping. I mean, I'm less likely to believe it was disabled for clipping reasons seeing as other major clothing item clipping issues were not resolved at the same time. -

A couple patches back the ability to wear a ski-mask or balaclava under your motorcycle helmet was disabled. There was no logical reason to do this, as the items didn't majorly clip with one another. Also, wearing a ski masks or balaclava under a motorcycle helmet in real life is very common, so its not like the combination wasn't realistic. Pretty simple, the combo is one of the best in the game and re-adding it would be fantastic. -
Old program was called TruSKY, if I remember correctly. Devs seemed to have scrapped it due to desync issues, not sure if theres any plan to bring it back but visually its a great system. So nice and moody, miss it so much!
