I'm a bit concerned with the dwindling PlayStation playerbase though. We could really really benefit from getting cross play with XBox. It would also encourage more in game chat due to cross play party not being a thing.

1.14 is awesome! When will consoles get sun rays back? Otherwise the sunglasses don't have much of an affect. Also, we desperately need the ability to use the whisper/shout function on consoles. Thanks for the update devs! @Kyiara
-
Some great changes here. Hoping to see sunshafts back on console some day... And also a next gen update or ATLEAST a 60fps patch for PS5. Regardless, can't wait to get home and try out 1.13!
-
@lynn.zaw The grass/vegetation right around the player is still de-rendering and re-rendering constantly/randomly. I've already posted it to the feedback tracker with no response. Hoping the team knows. It's pretty annoying. Started with 1.12.
-
@Kyiara Are we getting a console patch to fix any of the new 1.12 bugs anytime soon?
-
@KyiaraI left some feedback about the bugs mentioned above with the grass and some others. I also left a suggestion specific to Playstation DayZ. PS DayZ has the gamertag pop up for VOIP as it's been said Sony requires it. Rust Console(beta) by Double Eleven on Playstation shows gamertags of player when they are aimed at similar to DayZ BUT when players use VOIP a small mic pops up next to the name. If you aren't looking at them, there's no popup showing their gamertag. Is this possible for DayZ on Playstation as Rust is doing it on Playstation? The gamertag popups ruin some major aspects of player interaction. You can't roleplay and act like someone else and as soon as you speak, everyone knows you are in the vicinity. It's a bummer that PC and XBox don't have it and we do. Just a suggestion since Sony has let Rust devs do it that way.

I just did. 👍 Also, give 60fps, plz. -With love, PS5
-
@KyiaraI've noticed a consistent bug where the grass disappears right around the player and then renders back in. It happens often. I'm on PS5, btw.
-
@KyiaraAny chance the PS5 3D audio VOIP bug was fixed? I don't see it in the notes. Also hoping we get sun shafts back and an unlocked frame rate for PS5. All in all, the update is awesome and I like the direction the game is going. Hardcore zombie survival, as it should be.
-
It sounds like the game just isn't for you. I, like a lot of veteran players, welcome the zombie changes. Finally the zombies are more than just a minor annoyance. Stealth is required to one hit them and you have to fight them skillfully instead of just mashing attack and stunlocking them. I hope they also add in zombie breaking doors down so people can't just hide indoors or lock hordes of zombies inside.
-
Not sure what has changed or if it's placebo but the game seems to be running much smoother on PS5 and full official servers weren't lagging at all for the first time ever. On the downside, we experienced a few occasions of desync with items and also the inability to quickly take zombie items. Also, a little bummed to still not see sun rays back on console but hopefully that comes with the next gen patch alongside 60 fps. Crossplay with Xbox would be awesome but I figure that's out of the question. Regardless, I was stoked the servers were running so well and lag-free without players skipping around like usual. Loving the cut to ammo and mags so it isn't just freshies running around with stacks of shotgun ammo. Also, I hope we get to have regular server wipes to keep the loot economy healthy like every other survival game. All in all, I'm just happy we are still getting updates. Keep it up devs! 👍

I'm stoked with how the game has rounded out 2020 and I'm even more excited for what's up next on the roadmap. Great work, Bohemia! Next gen upgrades are gonna be awesome.

They hear me normally. I can't figure it out and it's really bumming me out because it makes interactions with strangers basically impossible because I can't really hear them.
-
Having VOIP volume issues on PS5. My settings are fine but other people's VOIP is so low I can't hear them even though the slider is maxed. Every other games voice chat sounds normal. Already submitted a bug report and tweeted @DayZ with no response. Any help?
-
Having an issue on PS5 where in game VOIP volume is way too low even when I have it maxed out. In addition to the locked 30fps, DayZ on PS5 has been a bit of a bummer. Atleast performance is more steady I guess. Also, are servers really laggy right now? Noticing major delay between actions and response, like opening doors. When will we see sun rays on console again?
-
Awesome update! Any plans to unlock the PS5 framerate which seems locked at 30fps. Series X players are getting a relatively consistent 60fps. Why the difference? A next gen upgrade would be AWESOME. Maybe someday we will even get sun rays back. Regardless, loving the game and great job on 1.10!

Xbox Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)
ZingZootZephyr replied to ImpulZ's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
This. They said it would return but that was quite awhile back. -
Also keep in mind the timers are now 24-48 hours. It will take that time for the loot economy to stabilize to what it's going to be. So starting about today we should start seeing what it's going to be like. Don't worry, they aren't going to leave it this way if the analytics showing loot being to rare. They've said as much in the 1.09 blog.

My understanding of the changes are that player interacted items now last much much longer when dropped in the world. In my opinion, it pretty cool to see so much loot in random places that has been switched for or dropped. It's nice to find things in unsual spots and not just running around looking at the usual spawn points. Really makes the world feel more lived in. This effects the loot economy because if an item has reached a certain limit because there is a certain number of that item laying out in the world, no new copies will spawn. As you can guess this makes beginning survival much more challenging, which I personally think was needed. Certain item spawn numbers were also tweaked. Knives aren't nearly as common now but small stones(used to make stone knives) are much more common. I see a lot of complaining that people aren't finding anything but rubbish and I think they are missing the point of the changes. Bohemia seems to really be leaning into the survival/scavenging aspects of the game which I think is awesome. The point of the game is trying to get by, not rushing to a military spawn and having full resources/weapons in an hour. The changes will also drive people off the coast and inland to find more/less picked over loot all while making the world more alive with the signs of other survivors. Hopefully this also means people will become spread out around the map instead of just sitting on the coast and occasionally sprinting to a military base before returning to the coast. All that said, this is just my understanding of what's been changed and I could be totally wrong.

I think it's more performance related since PC never lost them and still has it. Might be both? Maybe Console can't have them in a way that isn't blinding due to performance limitations. I just hope they come back in some form since they added a lot to the atmosphere.
-
If you're having this much trouble finding things then you probably don't know where to look to find the specific items you're after. It's a survival game in a post-apocalyptic world. Loot isn't meant to be easy to come by.

@ImpulZ Are there plans to bring back sun shafts for console? Was hoping to see them again with 1.09 as they add a major layer to the world design. Also, console desync is(was) horrible. I've posted several times about it in the Feedback Tracker already with no response.(hopefully gone for good) Edit: I was wrong. Played for 4 hours with a group of friends on a medium pop server and didn't experience desynced inventories once. That's a first since the game launched on PS4. Miss the sun shafts but great update! Made playing way more enjoyable than it already was.
-
This. I was wondering/hoping the same. At work currently. Anyone? Edit: Looks like they are still out... Doubt we get them back at this point.
-
Some really cool changes here. I'm excited.

I hope the sun rays come back. Is there any plan to add the blood splatter effects to console that PC now has? Just curious.
