I didn't think any army still used helmets signifying who is a medic, as the traditional red cross on a white background tends to be a handy aiming point for marksmen - I thought they were signified by their arm bands or badges. IF the developers followed that train of thought, if remember, then perhaps sticky patches/decals could be added to a helmet to add the red cross & white background to it. But who is to say that the Chernorus forces didn't have their medics wear helms with the red cross on it? I'd be happy with it in game in some form or other.

This is certainly an idea I can get behind. Would be a very characterful addition to the map and an absolute deathtrap to explore if a 'gang' ever set themselves up inside. Wouldn't like it to be absolutely massive though, maybe large enough to house a single submarine (which could either be 'wrecked' inside the pen or on the coast nearby). I reckon at that inlet north-east of Svetlojarsk. In addition I'd like to see a naval harbour added in, with a small military vessel. Maybe Svetlojarsk could be modified slightly to include a small military base (for naval personnel) and include a minesweeper or a coastal patrol vessel in the harbour or floating out in Guba bay.

Regular: 1 Giving out free food in Kamyshovo a new spawn attacked me with his fists and, in my panic, I put him down with 9 5.56 calibre bullets from my M4. Hardcore: 1 Sat atop the small rise immediately NE of Elektro, on a bench admiring the sunset for 5 minutes after bumping into a couple of bandit hunters. A newly spawned woman runs at me and starts hacking at me with a knife, so my axe met her head. Low kill count for 71 hours so far...

That's peculiar. What condition are the headlamps? All of the ones I've tried (Pristine & worn - I won't pick up ones that are damaged or worse) work fine with batteries that are damaged or better.

With rain affecting clothing/equipment just around the corner, I'd rather like to see this sort of thing included - wrapping up bits of kit in plastic bags so keep them dry in my pack/pouches.

Thank you for enlightening me! I hadn't realised that I was pretending to have fun, I thought I was actually, you know, enjoying myself but you've laid it out before my eyes so I can see that I've wasted all those hours... They do if you put a battery in them.

What civ style weapons would you like to see?

As a really-not-serious one, behold!; The matchlock musket! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KTS8PQ06Qo As an English Civil Wars reenactor I've fired matchlocks on several occasions and I have to say it is a lot of fun. More so than firing a shotgun. Totally impractical for DayZ, especially as you probably wouldn't hit anything beyond 30 yards, and the colossal noise would attract every zombie & bandit in Chernarus* but hey, it would amuse me! *An exaggeration. -
Irony. I'm not so sure, really, not completely sold on the idea. For the amount of work I imagine it would require there are surely other things worth including more but at the same time, as I think about it, I'd quite like this to an extent - not to the point of morons running around with a pistol in each hand trying to replicate something they've seen in films (hopefully if it was ever included trying to 'dual wield' pistols would end badly). I do like the idea of having, for example, a first aid kit in one hand and your pistol in the other whilst performing a handover without leaving yourself unguarded.

Yew Longbow! Actually I am semi-serious about this. I hate modern bows with all the counter-weights and pulley systems and rubbish all over them. I much prefer the simplicity of the long yew bow and would love to have one in DayZ to take hunting. Might be a bit 'overkill' considering the draw weights involved. As far as firearms go, probably a W W Greener Martini action shotgun (chambered in 12 bore, unlike the ones police units had which were 14 bore); -
3 New pistols in DayZ Standalone Experimental

Personally I'd rather like the M1911 on my avatar but I do wish it was an 'older' type, rather than a modern version. Wouldn't mind seeing the Browning Hi-Power included at some point. He said 'some branches', indicating more than one part of the US military, and 'some units' as in several military formations. Apparently among the US Army Special Operations units the 1911 is still used, so it's not just the USMC who still use it. -
Hopefully in the future hats will help to keep characters heads warm & dry, thus helping to keep them healthy. It's not all about protection against weapons you know. As for the t-shirts, they're meant to be 'useless' - that way when your character has freshly spawned you're forced straight off the bat to go and find clothing with pockets to store stuff. Not against there being more 'feminine' clothing for female characters but if it's impractical stuff then it should be impractical within DayZ.

If a zombie apocalypse did happen then I imagine that I, with my luck, and anyone who is prepared for a 'zombie apocalypse'*, will be among the first to become zombies. If by some quirk I was a survivor then I'd frankly give myself 1/10 chances of surviving (due to my physical health and my genetic allergy to gluten, barley & rye foodstuffs - see; Coeliac Disease**). At least if another survivor found my body there'd be some good kit to take away with them. *Fate loves irony. **As an example, if I found a shop with, say, with packets of crisps for the taking, they often contain gluten-based ingredients in the flavouring.

Taken several steps back with equipment and gear. I collected a few bits for my friend, who has just started playing DayZ, and intended to give him my TTsKO, a big rucksack and my M4. Rather a lot of kit gathered later, I kept tripping over it all and didn't want it to go to waste, I managed to get to him and drop it all off. In the process I dumped all the bits I didn't want anymore and have gone 'back to basics' as it were. No backpack, no rifle-sized weapon, no melee weapon (until I find a knife), just one yellow protective case, an FN .45 and a dire need for a half-decent hat (probably a beanie).
