Ahh yeah those servers probably run single cored. Nitrado's performance screen definitely suggests this too. Fwiw, i loaded up the car on that server i rented, with as much stacks of ammo I could. I could not invoke the heavy lag spike no matter how long or hard I drove but the 3 second hick ups became much much more prevalent. To the point that I did crash the car rather quickly lol. So it seems thats another theory to forget haha. I myself still use a launch edition ps4 with a hdd that's just as old. Render and scope issues really depend, sometimes it is pretty bad. Other times not so. I feel as if the more unpredictive you play, the more lag you have. What I find most unusual though is that only one person gets them at a time. I too heard from a buddy DayZ in general runs a lot better on xbox.

    PS4 SERVER ISSUE

You should file a support ticket in the bugtracker thingy! If you haven't already

Why would such a lagspike be related to someone on the other side of the map though? Such a huge lagspike indicates to me that ram memory of the client, ie. Us. is seriously close to or already overloaded. I don't doubt that 10, 20 or 30 players together could create similar lag spikes, but I'm confident when i say that the amount of players is not directly related to the length of car lag spike. My longest lagspike was on a empty, albeit used by other players earlier that day, server in the middle of the night. And again, the only other variable that could have mattered was the amount of items in that car. I had their inventories filled almost completely on that server. Similarly. One drive I made, was with another friend who was driving his own car. I had about 100 slots used of my car inventory and had 1 huge lag spike. My friend had his car pretty much loaded with weapons and he had multiple lag spikes. Each km or so. I was on wifi, he was on LAN. Just think about it though, what's one of the first things you do with a car? Unload your inventory in it so you can loot more... Do you have a source for that information? Just for curiousity. The stuff about the cores I mean. I do agree on the large slot servers causing problems. This seems to be the case for games like Ark too though. In that regard these games are just a bit too demanding for the ps4. What I do know is that a 10 slot server uses less than 3.5gb of ram on average. Processor usage is pretty high with even just one player though. I honestly wouldn't know how well DayZ utilizes the dual quad core a ps4 has. I doubt this game would even run fully single threaded though. The game definitely isn't optimized and tbh, with what they intend to add to the game, i don't see that happening anytime soon. They can't do it worse than Pokem.... ehm Ark though. Lol

I've driven on a server with noone else, my little brother his one late at night, where I had the long lagspikes anyway. I really feel as if 4-5 items are the max amount you can safely keep in your car. I've had close to 10 in it and had more hick ups on that ride. I just keep 2 jerrycans, a spare rad and battery in it now. It only lags ocasionally for a few seconds when loading in things in but it even does that on foot. I got this theory because loading in stashes or huge amounts of loot, zombies or simply doors that are open are all scenario's that can freeze your game for a few seconds, even while running/sprinting. So I imagine it can cause problems if you're driving a huge stash around, its quite literally a driving tent.

    Throw in the trash!

Lol everything is possible. I can offer some insight perhaps though My little brother rented a server, we started playing with 5 people on it, giving little consideration to anything, just some inventory bugs that remain, no huge desync but driving gave huge lag spikes. Then 1.08 dropped, I also rented a server, 10 slots, kept it password protected. I only hired it to see if I could trigger the huge lag spikes while driving. Well... I've raced all cars ingame except the sarka, and have taken an ada 4x all over the map, I've crashed twice due to a worn tire but NO long lag spike. Now, what I did was keep at most 4 or 5 items in the car inventory. I'm absolutely NOT sure if that's the issue but it's either that or simply the presence of other players. I only had really bad fps in nadbor centrum. Here is a vid of me driving from nadbor western military base to polana in about 3.5 minutes: Maybe someone, preferably with other players on their server, and a car to their possession, could verify this. (Having empty car inventory = no or less lag spikes) If not, then its really related to the players in a server but I've already found out the lag spikes can happen even on an empty server at one point, regardless of location. In all those cases where I did lag I did have loads of stuff in the car...

Bleeding is overpowered/stacks too many times

I was thinking maybe the speed of the player and/or zombie had an impact on the force of melee hit. I've one tapped zombies with a timed strike on the head as they charge for you. Not consistently but with a variety of weapons nevertheless, so maybe the amount of HP's a zombie is spawned with also varies?

Bleeding is overpowered/stacks too many times

That really is op lol... idk what it is with melee weapons but sometimes they hit really good and other times not so much. On that ocassion the crowbar just really let me down... I find the hatchet a similar weapon, often killing a zombie in a few strikes and other times requiring 7+ strikes(regardless of where! Maybe hit detection on zombies is slightly bugged?) I did onetap someone with a sledgehammer once xD

Items stuck in tent even after server restart?

Yeah I can confirm that on ps4, servers only seem to restart once every 24 hours. I spoke of 6 hours earlier, based on an outdated reddit source for pc. I was able to take most if not all items just now. Thank you for the tips I hope this helps others who experience the same

Bleeding is overpowered/stacks too many times

That's interesting, I haven't noticed that. My little brother told me that at launch bleeding was less severe, how much time passed between the cases you mention? All I know myself is that even with 1 stack, you'll bleed out rather fast. I always had at least 1 bandage with me, just like I did when I died before making this topic. The funny thing was, I dropped a shirt maybe 40 meters earlier, one sprint, which i ran to and cut and then immediatly applied, it was less than a minute. I died while the last bandage was 90% applied. While not exceptionally geared, I wore military clothes (BDU jacket, plate carrier, combat helmet). While zombies may whip their arms rather hard, I doubt they could cause such wounds to someone in such clothes. Not when you're conscious and hitting them back atleast. This was also a rare case in that I got surrounded by three zombies and they took an exceptional amount of time to go down. That they surprised me was definitely on me though lol.. (also fuck crowbars idk what I was thinking).
  11. Hi! I encountered a variation of the "stuck in container/inventory" problem, a large tent in this case. The items got stuck after I replaced some things already in the tent, since I was managing it's inventory, practically everything is stuck now... Am i correct to assume official servers restart each 6 hours? If so, there have been multiple restarts already yet the items are still stuck. I play with my little brother and a friend but they weren't online when I got the items stuck. Now my friend got cholera and the pills are stuck 😞 I've literally tried everything possible to get the things out...
  12. I'd like to point out that with 3 stacks of the bleeding effect, you'll usually bleed out before you can apply 3 bandages. Also, walking barefoot shouldn't gut you as badly as running, it's too simplified and slightly ridiculous in the first place, I can walk barefoot on concrete without dying in real life. I'm all for a challenge but I feel atm it is a bit too punishing...
