In reply to the reply of PixerPopper 1.difference in opinion There are more griefers in this game than there are actual survivers. I think body armor would become something that griefers would go get so they can run around cherno, get shot, turn around and kill the players. Also a lot of the rounds used in this game would go right through any armor made by a surviver. 2. I use vent, skype with my friends and would still like to see more diversity in player appearance. It's one of the things with games that people find the most overpower and stick with it. Maybe more skins you can pick up would be cool but not ones you spawn in. They first need to fix that others see the same surviver outfit that you do. At the moment it's random what clothes you see on a surviver (it can be different from what they are actually wearing). 4. yes they would show up as a different shade of dirt. If they were like a mound or something that could be useful but just a slightly different shade would still be hard to find if the player didn't put it in a stupid place. May as well just use a tent instead. 5. If you change the mechanic of the zombies that they move slower but in larger packs, and they cant be killed unless with a head shot then it would be very useful if you blow a leg off. if they don't have arms they cant hit you. Oh I see, you can shoot out the legs of an infected so they go prone already. I would start making a team of armless infected to follow me around if I could make them not be able to hit me. They aren't changing anything to make it so infected only die from headshots. 7. Its not about panic. Because i'm really patient even when they are right in front of me. if you watch the zombie animation when they are right next to you and aim for the chest (with an axe especially) they seem to have a slideshow effect about them dancing around where you would like to actually hit. I assume once they tidy up the animations once they get the new pathfinding sorted it will be improved. 8. if you notice when your throwing something you cant stop in between that action. you have to wait for the animation to go all the way through before you can complete another action. I guess it just means timing you actions more, also if you're doing an action you can scroll to cancel it. 9. thanks grammar police. throwing takes practice but its never quick or precise and it should be. Spelling police* Also grenades are fucking strong, you only need to get it near a player to destroy them or to knock them out. Percision isn't that important. 10.I'm only thinking about every zombie movie i have ever watched. The undead never have had amazing vision. Unless you count the infection of i am legend, but those are a completely different monster. besides it was just and idea. and i changed the idea when i thought about it for a minute. Again, the infected in DayZ are infected, not zombies. Rocket is clear on that one. 13.yes you can only get in if you break the boards.. but you would see small community's forming in the middle of city's taking over and fortifying them. What about the fresh spawners who don't have any items to get into these houses? 14.it was just a suggestion. My brother and i had to walk 2 hours south to help a new player and by that time he had to leave. i'm people are split on this and how to effectively implement it so its not overpowered or unrealistic. might be a bad suggestion. I don't think it takes anywhere near 2 hours to walk from one of the map to another unless you get lost. Spawning on players would ruin the fair of losing your items. (Eg you have no food, just die and respawn back at your body with your friend next to it instead of panicing to get food) 15. I have found vehicles and know where to look. But it is a suggestion, why not add more? Limited use would work too if they were plentiful enough. I do find it weird that with the amound of roads in the game that there are only like 30 cars. And there are way more broken cars than working ones. If we find a car owned by someone else and it can't fix my whole squad or isn't one of the best cars, we blow it up so a fresh spawn can be found by other players. 16. Your opinion Shared with a lot of other people here from the sounds of it. 17. That's not a trap that's an ambush. Traps are really for when you aren't around and want to defend an important location I.E. a tent or a vehicle. Bear traps are a good start. Shovels to dig holes and place sharp sticks into. Claymore mines with trip wires. maybe even go as far as finding left over ordnance you can combine with blasting wire and a watch to create and ied. TRAPS! Think of it as some crafting and this kinda stuff would happen IRL. Seems like it's being implemented anyway with bear traps being bought in. Having too many in the game would be more bad than good. They should be rare so you don't have to carry 20 morphine when trying to raid any city on the map.

You have to be fully zoomed for the mil dots to give an accurate reading of distance. You are fully zoomed right?

1. body armor- head armor - chest armor - shoulders and leg armor. The longer you play the more protection you get against player killers but at the expense of movement speed. If you get so lucky to find them. Each piece of armor you find has a -% reduction and can can add up with a full set. Would be too overpower for the people who gear up then go griefing new players. 2. More skins - a little more diversity so we don't accidently shoot one of our own when someone tries to blend into a group because everyone looks the same. Use teamspeak and get better communication. In a good squad members should be constantly relaying their positions so avoid confusion. 3. Safe zone 100 meters around tents but only 1 tent can be the safe zone and it cant be in a city. tents cannot be interacted with by other players while you are next to your tent or log out next to it. Wtf no? That would be way too overpowered for storing items, the idea is that if you're not there you should constantly be wondering if your items have been stolen yet. 4. Shovels can be used for digging a hole to bury your items for long term storage. If your good at using a map it should be easy to refind. Too overpowered unless they show up obviously to other players. 5. limbs can be taken off zombies kinda like in dead space. and can only be 1 shot with a head shot. This would only work if teleporting was fixed. How would this be useful? 6. Slow the rate that zombies can move but increase their numbers. I like the idea of more infected, I would rather die to not conserving my ammo and running out than dieing as the infected are too fast. Maybe once the pathfinding is fixed they could increase the numbers. 7. Fix the Z's animations so when your close range fighting with they dont jump around you like a vampire or neo would and dodge your bullets. Get better at shooting, it's not hard, just don't panic. 8. When stuck in an animation like bandaging or throwing, it would be great to stop the animation so you can react to incoming gunfire or two zombies that appeared out of nowhere. I'll ignore this one, it didn't make much sence to me. 9. If your throwing a gernaid, flare or tin can have a reticle on the screen so you can see generally where your going to throw it. Grenade* The rest of the point was ignored. 10.I agree that the sight aggro radius is a little unrealistic for a zombie. Instead of such a long sight aggro radius maybe you can add a different mechanic like smell. the longer you go without bathing the more zombies will be attrated to where your location is. They aren't zombies, they are infected. There is a slight difference, you can't call realisitics on how you think a zombie is. They aren't real to begin with. The infected only see right infront of them, avoid that area, the idea is that you don't walk infront of them, you wait for them to pass or kill them. 11.Restrict how quick a player can switch from server to server say you have to be in one server for at least 30 minutes before you can enter another one without a wait timer. the more you switch servers the longer the wait timer adds 5 mins for switching too quick 10 for another quick switch etc etc. you are still able to instantly connect to your original server. Once they patch out aborting in battle server hopping should be less effective. I don't think there would be an easy way to make it so you can't change servers as you're not connected to the same server and it might be a bit of a heavy load for the hive to process how long players have logged out for. 12.Thermal optics should never be allowed on a gun. From what i understand they were taken out but it might make sence for something like thermal sight that would take up several slots of your inventory much like what swat teams would use. Thermal optics and a large case takes up space. They are heavy and cumbersome but can be used really well to plan out an indoor attack. from personal experiance you have to keep them still and looking at one location for a few seconds before you get a picture of whats there. They are rare for a reason. 13.The ability to actually completly board up a building with wood and bars from scrap metal. Large groups of players can completly take over a part or an entire city. of course they could be retaken by using an axe to chop the wood off or just by shooting it. You seen what happens to Cherno and Electro when you give players the ability to build barriers. I guess if you could break into it with ease it would be ok but imagine every building that has a weapon in it being boarded up so you can never get the weapon you need to break the boards. 14.Add a grouping option so you can choose to spawn near your team mate with a penalty to something like 50% blood for 5-10-15 mins, this effect might be similar to a deserter debuff on a mmorpg for leaving a pvp area. Spawn back into a gun fight? Sounds dumb, also the whole idea of the game is how much of a penality death is. Remove that and the thrill from the possibility of dieing is gone. 15. Why are broken down vehicles so rare? if you were in a city there should be tons of vehicles to repair. I would think it would be better to make them spawn more just completely broken down. They are hard to find because they are all repaired and hidden in the north end of the map. In the last 3 days my group has found about 6 vehicles. You just need to look in the right place. I would like if they made it so there were more vehicles and they had a limited use so that people stop hording them and collecting all the vehicles in the map. 16. Rare spawn shovels can be used for digging holes so you can either use it for cover while defending a position or to bury your items. Shovels would be bad. 17. TRAPS and LOTS of VARIETY!!! Put a car in a field outside electro and watch it with a sniper, that's a good trap.

Share some tips for those of us who are new to Arma and DayZ

Few tips Double tap W to sprint instead of run. Shift + Left Click on map to place markers to see distance (I don't think it works on all servers) .45 speed reloaders can be turned into M1911 clips by right clicking and selecting the option. (Same with DMR and M24 and a few other weapons) Turning down terrain details in video options reduces the amount of grass on the ground without effecting many visual aspects of the game, this makes seeing people in the grass much easier) You can keep weapons in your backpack, (5slots = handgun, 10 slots = primary, having less than required slots will result in your bag eating the gun and you losing it) Zombies move slower indoors, kill them there if you can. Otherwise run backwards in a streight line stopping for a second to shoot every few seconds or when the zombies stop. That way you won't get swarmed. Anything less than 9000 blood means you risk getting knocked out by zombies in one hit. Try keep it above that. Never assume someone with a gun is friendly. Try avoid them if you have something to lose. If you have a decent backpack, a hatchet, matches and a hunting knife you should leave the main cities and explore less populated cities with less bandits. Learn from your mistakes, when you die think about what you did wrong so you can avoid it in the future (eg ran around in the open, lured too many infected, went inside a 1 room building with infected chasing you, trusting a random) Don't shoot your gun in cities unless you have no choice. It attracts players and possibly more infected than you can handle. The enfield will lure more infected than it kills. (It's reeeeaaallly loud.) Ocean on left = west or south, Ocean on right = east or north. Use an external map so you know where is best to go. If an infected is more than 250m away from you when it spawns, someone is near those infected and therefore near you! (If you see it do it's gun animation on spawn you know it's spawning) Running in prefectly streight lines makes you an easy target. -
They could have shot you from a range outside earshot. That would be more likely.

It was in full working order when we got it. Seems fairly legit. How can I take screenshots without using print screen? Is there a hotkey for it ingame?
