Maybe they nerfed the max look around sensitivity to make it more natural...

SillyJoe replied to Kyiara's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
Great Exp Update!! Toggle Voip on/off finally working on Xbox. I was loosing hope regarding the Voip toggle option but it seems like that the devs finally figured it out. Keep it up!!! ❤️ -
Update 1.16 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
SillyJoe replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
Still no option to toggle VOIP ON/OFF on Xbox? Cmon guys.... -
Well I can tell for sure that the official servers (Nitrado) are not performing well when high/full pop (50+slots) and it's a shame that BI aren't even able to fix the performance of their official servers. Even more shady is the fact that you can rent servers with 100 slots for console and I would even go so far to call this a big scam! But I do have a feeling that CPUs that offer high single-core performance are the best choice for DayZ as the server sided code doesn't seem to be optimized for modern multi-core server CPUs which are usually optimized for high multi-threaded performance at lower clock speeds.

3 words: Fix Server PERFORMANCE

Open a ticket at the BI feedback website: https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/31/ and tell your friends to post and leave some feedback there! More people = better! But to be honest it seems like that the developers don't care much about Xbox/console related issues, so don't expect any acknowledgment or feedback...

Toggle VOIP ON/OFF working on Xbox? Still crashing on Xbox Series X and still no toggle VOIP option... Wow well done devs!

Update 1.15 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
SillyJoe replied to Kyiara's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
Would you please add the "toggle VOIP option by double tapping d-pad down" on xbox (it works PS4/5 since day one)... It's so annoying and uncomfortable to hold down the d-pad when interacting with other players! And don't forget to address the lighting issues when zoomed in (a real game breaker imo). TY -
Yes, we need crossplay between Playstation and XBox ASAP! Its 2021, cmon BI make it happen ❤️ Btw the server performance is super weak right now! Please do something about it...
-
Sounds good, I also had DayZ on an SSD with my PS4-Pro and while it did helped with render issues and load times the "general performance" (fps + fps drops) was still super bad/untouched. Now with my Series X it's way better (loading times, render performance and (60) fps) but it's still far from being perfect! If the Xbox one X version of DayZ (which is currently being used with Series X) can't maintain "stable" 60 fps the game needs to be optimized for next-gen console hardware specs. If the devs cannot make this happen it means that they are bad at their job, sorry but that's the naked truth *imo*! Anyway... besides the client sided performance of DayZ on PS4/Xbox One,PS5/Series S/X) one of the biggest and most annoying problems is still the server sided performance! You can have own best and capable hardware but if the servers are struggling to maintain a healthy "stable performance" while full-pop the game becomes almost unplayable and that's the number one reason for me why I still can't enjoy DayZ most of the time as I only play on active full-pop servers. Low pop, non-active servers are the most boring thing imo so I'm really hoping that they increase the server sided performance with the upcoming 1.14 update. Maybe Linux based servers (hopefully also for console!!!) is a step in the right direction but only time will tell. GL out there!

I guess it's somewhat related to poor optimization... That's why we need a proper next-gen version for Series X/PS5!
-
Well you can press start and go to the Online Tab to see whos playing in the server but it doesn't tell you exactly how many players are in the server at the time (you could count tho :D). I don't think it should tell you WHO is in the server before joining it because it would make it too easy to stalk specific people! Anyway the server browser def lacks info! There is no night/day time info, no exact player count and no info about Third/First person view.
-
Lets start with some easy to fix and game breaking features, like: https://feedback.bistudio.com/T159930
-
Imagine being an Xbox player that can't even Toggle Voip ON by double clicking dpad down twice: https://feedback.bistudio.com/T159930 Anyway I think this limitation is related to the controller layout and the devs didn't know where to place this function. If you attach Mouse and Keyboard on console you can change the voip range afaik (it obv. only works on MnK servers)...
-
Are you playing on Xbox? On PS4/PS5 you can double tab d-pad down and this toggles VOIP ON. For some reason they forgot this on Xbox, so you need to hold the button THE WHOLE TIME when you try talk to someone and this can be super annoying and it's almost impossible in many situations! There is also no way to adjust the VOIP strength on consoles. I have no idea why I'm the only one complaining about this but no wonder that the devs haven't fixed this yet if no one is complaining...

I can confirm that we still have serious fps issues on Series X (some areas are even worse since 1.13!), which (in my opinion) speaks for the low/bad optimization status of DayZ on consoles. Sure we do run the One X Version of DayZ on our Series X consoles but we shouldn't suffer from these kind of frame drops on a powerful and capable console like the Series X. VRR or Freesync can help a little bit but you need a HDMI2.1 or Freesync capable TV/Monitor to use these options. I do play in 1440p@120Hz@Freesync and I still notice serious fps drops in many areas + hunting scope... We do need a proper next-gen version of DayZ for Series S/X and PS5 I'm sure if the devs are capable to release such a version. I can only speak for myself but I would be more than willing to beta/insider test such a version on my Series X and report Daily and/or Weekly to the devs about any issues. I would be also willing to sign an NDA and I'm pretty sure that Microsoft would be more than happy to support BI in terms of a next-gen version of DayZ. Xbox Insider would be the perfect way to widely test such a version! BI/The devs should have the tools to optimize DayZ for Xbox Series S/X as Microsoft made it kinda easy for devs to optimize games for the Series consoles! A next-gen Xbox Series S/X version of DayZ would be a good start for BI and I'm sure that PS5 players would also benefit from it in the long-run!

Great, now please fix the ADS sensitivity bug/glitch and finally add the VOIP ON/OFF option to Xbox. Thanks...
-
There is going to be a Hotfix today for the sound issues. Other than that there is literally no feedback or acknowledgement regarding any other console related issues. E.g. no word about the "ADS sensitivity issue" and nothing about "VOIP toggle ON/OFF on Xbox". The missing toggle VOIP ON/OFF option on Xbox makes absolutely no sense as it's already implemented in the PlayStation build.
-
Well it could be related to the wipe (no huge bases/stashes atm) or maybe they actually optimized the render/streaming system for consoles. As nothing is mentioned in the patch notes I guess the current performance is mostly related to the wipe(s). What about server performance? I've only played official so far but it seems to run pretty good right now (no stuck AI, laggy players, delayed interactions). I hope that the performance stays like this...
-
Same here on my Series X. Super annoying and it can be game breaking at times! I've also posted this in the console section but it seems like that no one of BI cares about the console sections of this forum... 1. We still missing the VOIP Toggle ON/OFF option on Xbox like it's implemented on the PS4 Version, which is annoying as it's very uncomfortable to constantly hold down a button on the d-pad to be able to talk to other players. In pvp or role play situation I would say its kinda game breaking and in general it does hinder player interactions heavily which often results in (avoidable) hostile situations! 2. They devs also still haven't fixed the ADS sensitivity bug on console (switching from an iron side to a weapon with a scope results in heavy ADS sensitivity slowdown, unless you scope in and out again). Pretty dissapointing... Anyway, I also have to give some kudos to devs. It seems like that they have fixed duping on consoles and the official servers run (way) better with full pop than before. I do hope that the server performance doesn't turn bad again after a couple of days/weeks! @Kyiara Any news regarding these issues? Some feedback would be very nice.
-
Thanks for letting us know. It seems like that these sound issues (e.g. gunshots) are only related to Xbox One or maybe even only to Series X/S... Btw, is the performance on PS4 any better than before? I can remember that DayZ ran pretty bad most of the time on my PS4-Pro and even on my PS5 I still encountered those annoying freeze lags while driving cars + some render issues. On my Series X its a night and day experience compared to PS4-Pro and even PS5, even if DayZ it still runs far from being perfect. I think a proper next-gen version of DayZ is needed for optimal performance on current gen consoles (PS5, Series X/S).
-
There seems to be serious sound issues on Xbox (e.g. Gunshots are super weird). I wonder if its only happening on Series X...? I'm playing on Series X with the new Microsoft Wireless Headset and I have a lot of trouble locating gunshots since 1.13. Sometimes a gunshot which is 10-15m away from me sounds like if it's 1km away. This stuff def needs to be addressed. I wonder if re downloading the whole game + deleting save file (local + cloud) could fix some of the audio issues and I also wonder if people on PS4/5 don't have audio issues with 1.13? I've sold my PS5 a while ago so I cannot test if the audio issues aren't present on Playstation. Oh and it would be nice if a couple of Xbox players could let them know via twitter that we need a toggle VOIP ON/OFF feature on Xbox like on the Playstation... It should be a simple thing for the devs to implement. Btw, It would be also nice if we get some feedback/acknowledgment from BI in the console section. It seems like that no one cares about us console players in this forum 😞 That would be some good news!!! I never duped or wanted to dupe anything so I can't not verify is they fixed this game breaking exploit but kudos to them if the actually did this time!
-
Exactly, it would 100% benefit player encounters/interactions... We need to raise our voice about this, so the devs can implement it like on the PS4 version.
-
Audio of Gunshots is super weird/buggy on Xbox and Zeds are hitting crazy atm. I can deal with the second issue but the audio issue is kinda game breaking... Please add toggle On/Off to talk on Xbox like on PS4. I still don't get why its not an option on xbox. Holding down the d-pad to talk is super annoying and kinda game breaking in several situations. Could you please forward this to the devs? I guess its an easy change for them. Ty! Haven't had the time to fully test full-pop server performance but for now it looks to be way better than before 1.13. Thanks for your work and keep it up! 👌

Update 1.13 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
SillyJoe replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
@Kyiara Fix full-pop server performance aka "Lag Fest"...
