You mean from Nitrado to Fragnet right? What about consoles? ;) -
DayZ Livonia Server Switch and Server Shutdown
SillyJoe replied to Greensek's topic in News & Announcements
I'm not sure. On PC it seems like that they switch to fragnet.net. On console I think they have a deal with Nitrado (for community servers) and that's why they don't switch but who knows. The question would be if all official servers on console do run on Nitrado? Anyway I would like to have the option to rent community servers on fragnet for console to compare the two hosters (Nitrado vs Fragenet)... What I realy don't like from Nitrado is the fact that they don't offer 60slot servers. It's either 52 or 64 and as I said 60 seems to be the sweetspot on console (i speak for the PS4 platform) before it gets "ultra laggy" when full pop. To be fair I don't blame Nitrado for all the Lag, Rubber Banding and crashing because I think it the fault of the how the devs designed the sever config for dayz. I mean the fact that most of the stuff is running on a single core is crazy enough. But I always wonder why Official servers are not running as bad when full pop as a 64 slot Community server hosted by Nitrado...?! For me it seems like that the devs also have to do alot of "optimizing and bugfixing" on the DayZ server config, not only the main game. -
DayZ Livonia Server Switch and Server Shutdown

Hopefully they will switch to fragnet.net for the community servers as well or at least give Console players the chance to rent via fragnet.net. Nitrado doesn't offer 60 slot servers for console and 60 slots seems to be sweet spot before everything starts to get ultra laggy (rubber banding, very low performance) when high/full pop. Fragnet also offers more server locations for DayZ compared to Nitrado and they also tell you exactly what hardware is beeing used. Nitrado was a bad choice imho... -
I guess this problem is not existent on xbox. I've asked some people on PS4 and they told me that it's still a problem, so not fixed. 😕

Random turn offs. Did you never had this problem on PS4? It requires you to crouch +uncrouch or jump to fix it. Turning off and on again from the quickmenu also works but the random turn offs happend way too often... Very very annoying, especially in pvp situations!

NVGs fixed with the latest patch?
-
Hi devs we need a hotfix for NVGs and random Bluescreens + Bluescreens when repairing/opening items.

I wonder why BI allows to rent custom servers with more than 60 slots when it makes the game clearly unplayable when thos server are full/high pop? On another post in this forum I've read that most of the ingame stuff is handled on a single core, so no wonder there is huge lag and rubber banding on high pop servers. You can feel this especialy on custom servers with more than 60 slots. When those servers are full the game becomes unplayable and players are teleporting + there is a lot of lag (zeds, doors, looting, aso). Are those server performance issues will get fixed at some point? I do think it's a very crucial issue and core problem of DayZ.

First: If they deliver bad/sloppy work they have to expect negativity imo. Second: I personaly would prefer if they haven't released DayZ unless it feels like a "finished prodcut". Let it be in Early Access and the Xbox Game preview program until it's ready! If people want to buy and play a buggy game they can buy it in early access on PC or within the Xbox game preview program on console. Merry x-mas! 🙂

Lets hope that they actualy use the money to improve the game and/or hire* some new/additional developers for DayZ. *I guess BI don't have enough manpower in the dev team and that's why the latest patches/updates were so poorly executed and it seems like that they still haven't figured out howto fix the core issues with the game (at least on console). I can't blame the devs for everything as I don't know how difficult it is to fix the current core issues and how many devs are working on the game but on the same side I can't blame any DayZ player who is tweeting that the devs have to step up their game or leave DayZ behind to make room for new devs with a fresh mentality. Imo the game right now is in a bad state on PS4! There is so much desync like Ghost Bullets, people shooting with their hands + no gun sound, weird hitreg, horrible fps (pvp + big towns like Topolin, Cherno, Elektro), alot of rendering issues (sniper scopes for ppl without SSD, wallhack when loading into a server, slow loading of the enviroment [sometimes buildings and other things are completly invisible for more than a couple of seconds]), Bluescreens/CE-Errors, Server crashes, Duping.... aso. In my opinion the devs have to work primarily on bug/exploit fixing but at the same time they have to optimize the general performance on consoles + servers. I hope that they use the money from us console players (base Game + DLC) to hire more devs which are specialized for console. The game (on console) will probably be dead soon If they are not able to fix the core issues. I'm realy looking forward to play DayZ on a PS5 but it's not only about the performance (fps client side). The devs have to fix the core issues with the game (desync, looting, server performance, aso.) so the players can enjoy this great concept of a survival game! As a customer all I can say at the moment is that for me BI has a bad reputation and I will defenitly not buy anything else from them in the future unless they prove that they can do it better and deliver a product that is worth my hard-earned money! Almost all of my friends quited DayZ shortly after the release and some after the next patches and raged about BI. I can't blame them as the game felt "unplayable/unfinished" and most people thought that they have wasted their money. I do hope that I can bring them back to DayZ once the core issues are getting fixed and the game feels like a finished prodcut... Anyway I wish all of you guys and your families merry X-Mas (devs included)! 🙂

Also bunkers at Livonia are buggy, you can look trough the roof... Same with some other buildings (e.g. lil garages). Pretty lame that they haven't fixed those issues yet!
-
I'm pretty sure that dupers are crashing the servers at the moment. Especially if you kill them they somehow are able to crash the server so that you are not able to loot them! How is this possible and when is this going to be fixed? These guys are ruining the game for every legit player!!!!
-
Random Bluescreens/CE-Errors are back with the latest patch. I had close to zero bluescreens with the 1.06 release but the next patch added bluescreens when opening cans of food or repairing stuff and the last one introduced random bluescreens again. It's completly ruining the survival experience and if you get a bluescreen in front of a couple of zeds your pretty much dead 99% of the time... 😕 Please fix this BI, it's unacceptable!
-
Btw, on consoles we are doing this (forced to do it!) since Release lul....
-
On PS4 there was no client update... ?
-
Sadly the latest patch hasn't fixed the Bluescreens/CE-Errors and Ghost Bullets/Desync but thanks for working/fixing the very annoying server crashes! Keep up the work, I'm looking forward to the next patch.
-
Btw, is this only a server patch or do we need to update dayz as well?
-
Please Fix NVG's, Bluescreens when opening food or repairing stuff, crashing servers (I think some ppl/dupers are able to crash them), ghost bullets and desync. PLEASE
-
What about consoles? We have a lot of issues as well, especially with crashing servers.... nvm:
-
Yap as I said this also happens to some community servers. They restart normaly but dont come up again and not showing up in the server list. The difference with community servers is that there are usually active admins and they manually restart their serves to fix the issue. So community servers are not down for hours or even days like official ones...
-
It's ridiculous, some server go down like every 2 minutes because of those freaking dupers!!!! Why is no one reporting this BS. How is it even possible to crash your servers so easily? It needs to get fixed ASAP!!!
-
It happens to a bunch of servers lately, also community ones. Also servers are crashing alot, maybe because of dupers making it crash?

I can't find the post where someone stated that most of the stuff happening ingame (server sided) is running on a single core but imo it does make sense since the server performance is so bad on custom servers with more than 60 slots. Here is a post about cars and the impact of other players on the driving: I'm not talking about the client side. I'm pretty sure that DayZ on the client side utilizes more than one core, otherwise you wouldn't even hit 30 fps on the ps4. It's the server side which is causing a lot of problems with lag and rubber banding . Afaik every event (including driving) is calculated server sided in DayZ (to prevent hacking aso) but if the server performance is bad you will notice it on your side (client)... When I was driving on an empty server I had my trunk full of stuff because I drove to every milli base and looted. I have to add that I'm using a PS4-Pro + SSD and that could also have some effect on the client sided performance. For example I do have way less render and scope problems than other ppl in DayZ. But a SSD doesn't have any real impact on the client sided fps, so I do have the same low fps than everyone else with a PS4-Pro with the default HDD. Hopefully the devs will be able to optimize the performance on PS4, especially on the PS4-Pro. For example I would love to play Dayz in 4K mode with my 4K TV but it does run pretty bad outside of 1080p. From what I heared the Xbox One X is running way smoother in 4K... 😕
-
I dont think those lagspikes are related to the ammount of items that you have in your trunk. All I know for sure is that they have to work on the server performance as many problems are directly related to this. What I also don't understand is why they offer custom servers with more than 60 slots. Every Custom server with more than 60 slots that I've played on showed alot of lag and rubber banding when full/high pop. So not only DayZ is buggy/full of bugs, the server performance is also quite weak and not optimized for modern hardware (multi core)! It's a real shame imo...
-
I don't own a xbox one x but I can imagine that DayZ is better optimized for the Xbox one X at 4k. It seems that DayZ hasn't got a Pro-Enhanced Mode and that's very sad for PS4-Pro owners with a 4K TV. As I said the game looks beautifull in 4K mode but with the low fps in most situations it's almost unplayable (especially when scoping). I play on a new Samsung 4K QLED TV with Game Mode enabled. I can't notice any Input lag or frame stutter so there is nothing wrong on my end. I'm only complaining about the bad PS4-Pro performance in 4K Mode...
