Update 1.13 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
SillyJoe replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
That's mostly related to old gen console hardware (+slow hdd's) and to some degree it's related to bad optimization. On my Series X I rarely encounter these issues anymore but the performance even on the Series X is still far from being perfect. Still huge fps drops (especially with the hunting scope) and some render issues. You have to accept that if you play DayZ on old gen hardware (PS4/PS4-Pro, Xbox One) you will never have a solid and stable experience and that's mostly related to the weak hardware. Even if DayZ on console still feels pretty poorly optimized we can't blame the devs for the weak console hardware (old-gen). I don't know if we will ever see a proper next gen version of DayZ for the new consoles (PS5 + Series S/X) that does fully make use of the hardware but for PS5 a next-gen version is much needed as DayZ on PS5 still only runs at 30fps because of Sony's backward compatible system... Again (imo) we can't blame the devs on this one but they should start working on a next gen version which could also be tested via Xbox Experimental/Xbox insider... -
Update 1.13 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
SillyJoe replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
Sorry but.. 1. I do have a very good Internet over here (500/100mbps @FTTH) and on top I do have a very good/powerful router with an excellent QoS setup. I also don't encounter any issues with other online games that are related to my internet connection or the peering of my ISP. 2. I mostly play with a group of people from various regions and "ALL" of them encounter those issues! You are clearly lost if this doesn't tell you that the issues aren't related to internet connections or ISPs of the end users. 3. One of the main problems of DayZ is that the server sided code is very outdated/bad as most of the calculations are running on a "single core" instead of making proper use of modern "multi core" server CPUs/hardware. I'm pretty sure that's the main reason why servers do perform so poorly (very low server fps) when full pop. It's actually a known problem and not anything new but the devs never took a statement on this. E.g. flying/suicide cars are also mostly related to bad server performance (besides the laughable implementation of physics in DayZ). If you haven't encountered any issues that are related to server performance it means that you don't play on 50+ slot full pop servers. I have no idea if its currently different on PC but we clearly have a major server performance related issues on PS4/PS5 and Xbox One/Series S/X. It was a bit better a couple patched before but at the moment it is very easy to see that full pop (50 slots and above) servers are struggling to hold a stable and healthy FPS which is needed for smooth game play (official + community servers). And before you mention my internet connection and/or ISP again let me tell you that I do have a smoke ping setup running on my router that constantly measures the RTT and PL to various DayZ servers... I have 15-20ms to EU servers with zero packet loss! Trust me I'm capable to spot issues on my end but there are non. Once again, the server performance issues that I'm talking about are NOT related to anything on my end... It's not client sided, it's server sided! -
Update 1.13 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
SillyJoe replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
Please fix the Iron sight > Scope ADS sensitivity bug on consoles! It pretty anti consumer that you still ignore such a simple request from your console community, aside all the other problems on console! It's also a shame that we still get massive fps drops in "many areas" when zooming with a hunting scope on Xbox Series X (happens 1080p, 1440p and 4K)! And please for the love of god (finally) fix the damn server performance! With 99% of full pop servers (official servers + community with 50 slots and above) there is non working AI, Teleporting players, delayed actions aso. because of poor server performance/fps.... Please do work on the server sided problems in DayZ and sort this out or change your server provider is it's related to poor/underperforming hardware! -
Poor server performance fixed aka lag when full pop?

Xbox Experimental Update 1.12 (Changelog)
SillyJoe replied to Kyiara's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
Nice patch notes and some welcome changes/adjustments but WHAT ABOUT THE AWFUL SERVER PERFORMANCE thats going on right now? Is that also fixed or getting worked on? Its kinda game breaking when the AI isn't working at all and players are constantly teleporting and lagging on full pop servers.... -
I can only speak for Xbox Series X and DayZ does crash a lot on my end but it can also run fine for several hours without crashing... Imo the 1.11 Update is a disaster (on console), especially the server performance is a bad joke since 1.11 + lot all the crashing combined with desync and bugs.
-
Dear Devs.... 1. Please fix Server Performance (e.g. servers that where running smooth with 70 slots before are barely playable with 50 slots since the latest patch/update) 2. Please fix the sensitivity problems/bugs on console (iron sights should have same sensitivity as scopes), best would be to have different "adjustable" settings for zoom and hipfire (and maybe an adjustable sens option for sniper/long range scopes) 3. Please do your Xbox-player base a favor enable/add "double tap to always talk" on "XBOX" (like on Playstation) as constantly holding down a button on the d-pad to talk can be very annoying/frustrating in many situations (e.g. PVP and/or RP)... 4. Please do your Playstation-player base a favor and enable 60fps for the PS5 (I don't know if it can be done with Sony's Backwards Compatible System but if it can't be done due Sony's BC system let us know) (5.) If possible host a console related live stream to adress/answer the most important console related questions. That would be a very nice move of your team and I'm sure that it would be much appreciated by the console player base. Thanks in advance... 🙂

So much lag on brazilians oficial servers
SillyJoe replied to vangrant1's topic in General Discussion
It's not only weak hardware it's mostly related to the non optimized server sided code (and it could also be related to excessive duping). For some reason it's even worse since 1.11, most community servers above 52 slots become "unplayable aka ultra laggy" when full pop and this is even happening (more and more) to official servers since 1.11. BI has to hire someone that is able to fix/optimize the server side of DayZ. Its a huge problem and I bet that Desync and suicide/harry potter cars are also mostly related to low server performance/fps. @DEVs Are we ever going to see "improved server performance" in any/future patch notes? Are you guys not able to improve the performance of your servers aka server sided things in DayZ? A buggy game + low performing servers is a really bad combination imo... -
This so called "Stability Update" is a mess on console (imo)... Some of the patch notes and fixes are great and much appreciated but the devs still haven't fixed or at least improved server performance (please hire someone that is able to work on the server performance/fps), cars, Item/Inventory desync and performance issues. I'm running DayZ on a Series X and Chenarus @1080/1440p runs mostly fine but in 4k and Livonia (in general) runs "very very bad" performance wise!! Then some of the old bugs were introduced with this update (e.g. you can't loot items from zeds straight away and most of the times you can't loot guns of players back by pressing the action or equip button). For those 2 problems there are workarounds but I wonder how you guys (BI) can call this update a "stability" one when it reintroduced old bugs and doesn't do "anything for the general stability in the game except the wipe of official servers because of the (still ongoing) massive duping issue (which btw still hasn't been fixed!!!)... 😣 @Devs Please fix/improve DayZ for us console players by at least fixing "some" of the most annoying console related problems: 1. Add/Tweak Sensitivity options (at least fix the iron sight/scope sensitivity issue)!!! 2. Give Community Server admins access to init.c (they pay alot for their servers and deserve to get access to init.c) 3. Add/introduce the "double tap to always talk option" on Xbox so we don't need to hold down the damn push to talk button the whole time when talking to other survivors (please do it like with the Playstation version where you are able to double tap the voice button to enable "always talk") I'm not even asking/begging you here to fix cars or suddenly major improve the performance (issues) on old and weak hardware (PS4/Xbox One) but at least work and announce a next-gen console version of DayZ that make use of the up-to-date/potent hardware of the Xbox Series X and PS5. Oh and please fix/optimise the server side/performance of your game once you on it!!! I've sold my PS5 so I can't judge DayZ on PS5 anymore but when I've played it the last time on PS5 it was still "30fps" which is a real shame in my opinion and a slap in the face for every PS5 player out there. Anyway please keep up the work devs and please don't forget about us console players! I would highly suggest that you devs actually play DayZ on console for a couple of hours "as a normal survivor" and see for yourself how frustrating these console issues can be... Thanks for your time and effort! ❤️

Is anyone else having more problems after 1.11 patch

Hotfix incoming? 🤔
-
Well I've played DayZ a couple days on my Series X and I have to say that DayZ runs "way" more smooth and better on the Series X compared to the PS5. There is realy a big difference between the Xbox and PS version of DayZ in terms of the performance with the next-gen consoles (which is probably related to the different backwards compatible approach of MS and Sony)! With Series X I can play in 4K60 and DayZ almost feels like a new game to me! There are also "no" more freezelags while driving anymore (with the PS5 I've still experienced some short freezelags from time to time while driving). I hope that BI does release a PS5-specific patch for DayZ or a proper next-gen Version as right now I kinda feel sorry for the PS5 players out there. For me personally there is currently no reason to play DayZ on my PS5 as proper 4k60 + Freesync/VRR is definitely the way to go if you want to enjoy DayZ on console. I've also tested DayZ Experimental on my Xbox today and I'm quite happy from what I've seen so far. It's a very nice bonus that we can test experimental builds of DayZ with Xbox... Anyway keep up the work devs and please don't forget to improve the server related performance... 😉

Xbox Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)
SillyJoe replied to ImpulZ's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
It seems like that those nasty freeze lags while driving are fixed with Xbox Series X @latest Game Preview Version: On PS5 @1.09 those freeze lags are sadly still present! We now got the Hardware (PS5) that should be able to easy run DayZ with stable 60fps with no performance issues but for some reason the game performance is way worse on PS5 compared to Xbox Series X: My guess is that DayZ (1.09) on PS5 currently runs in PS4/PS4-Pro compatibility aka Legacy mode and doesn't use the hardware correctly. Please fix this before releasing 1.10 or deploy a PS5 specific patch to enable the native PS5 Backwards compatible mode in order to let DayZ use of the actual performance of the PS5. Anyway keep up the great work @DayZ Devs. The latest Xbox Preview Version is looking quite solid! 🙂 👍 -
Xbox Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)
SillyJoe replied to ImpulZ's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
Any word on next gen consoles? Btw devs, would you please "Fix/Improve Server Side Performance" before adding new stuff to the game...? Let's be honest, the server side performance of DayZ is a bad joke! -
Well source Engine is way more mature and solid. I think that the Rust devs will do a great job to optimize their game for the current console generation and I'm quite sure that rust will run better than DayZ on consoles. I'm also sure that the game won't be released it in such a buggy state as DayZ but we will see... I do hope that we will have a great DayZ time with the new consoles and I hope that the devs will sort out most of the gamebreaking bugs before the new console generation will be released! I'm not a game dev but I can imagine that it's quite difficult to optimize a game like DayZ for the current console generation (performance wise). Anyway all the game breaking bugs does ruin the experience the most (imho). Bad performance + game breaking bugs = non happy players!
-
Well done. Next thing that broke with 1.08 are lightsticks. They aren't working anymore. Every colour=White with no light source coming from them... I guess it not worth to ask for general performance fixes on PS4 Pro but I'll do it anyway. Please give us better performance and please also work on the server side of your game. Servers with more than 60 Slots are still a lag/teleportfest when full pop. And cars.... ehmm nvm.
-
+1 But please fix the stamina consumption for filled up Plastic Bottles and Canteens. You must have made a calculation mistake (np happens to the best of us) because you have probably worked so hard to deliver a clean and bug free update...
-
My friend just told me that there is community server with 150 slots and another one with 120 slots. I thought that he was joking since everything above 60 slots is basically unplayable when full pop but I just checked the community server list and he wasn't joking... 😮 Cmon there is no f**** way that Nitrado does offer servers with that many slots, the 100 slot servers are already pure scam, because the performance is so damn bad above 60 slots but 120 or 150 slots I mean WTF @DayZ and @Nitrado!
-
I don't care where you transfered from but your laughable with your slim and your super fast fibre optic connection. Do you realize than you could play "any modern" game with dedicated servers even with a slow ass 2000/448kbits ADSL connection if your line isn't satuarated while playing or you do have a decent QoS setup in play, you freaking tech noob. And do you realize that FPS aren't related to the connection at all? I guess you have no Idea at all so your the silly one here. Btw, I do own a PS4-Pro + SSD and 500/100mbps FTTH connection and I've talked to many friends and players since 1.08 and "ALL" of them experience serious fps drops in gunfights and bad performance in general + crashes. #facts
-
It seems like that you never got into serious gunfights with full auto AR's. The general fps is still freaking bad if not even worse with 1.08 and cars are also as buggy as with 1.07... #facts
-
It's a real shame but this is pretty much what I expected... I do play DayZ since the release on consoles and the devs haven't fixed "any" major problem with the game since then. But ofc they have released a paid DLC while the game is and was still in such a bad state. Vaulting was a nice addition to the game and we all appreciate how community servers can be customized these days but as I said "no major problem" has been fixed. Cars are still deathtraps, desync/looting/inventory issues are still the same, server performance is still awfull and maybe even worse since release and the general performance is also a joke. I never agreed that dayz is simply a cash grab and BI is scaming their console customers but it's time to realsize that DayZ on console it nothing more than a cash grab! We also have to keep in mind that Xbox players were even having experimental builds and servers but they still can't get it right. DayZ is a beta game at most, the devs are imho lazy and incompented. This title should have never be released on consoles in the first place... On top we have those silly fanboys which are feeling sorry for the devs when they get critizised for their sloppy work. I can understand that some content creators (to some degree) don't open their mouth as they make decent money while playing, streaming and recording this game but the average players should open up their mouth and let this company know that their work is not ok!
-
Desync still as bad as before but you can finally loot the weapon in peoples hands without cutting up the whole body. The new sway system with the hunting scope is great, well done. Water render issues still not fixed and I think the overall performance is as bad as before (I can only speak for the PS4-Pro + SSD). Glow sticks seem to be broken as there is no light source coming from them and the red glowstick does look like the white one. Pretty weird. So far I would rate this Update 4.5/10 as the major problems aren't fixed yet (e.g. Desync and Performance)...
-
@jakub_bohemia Is it recommended to delete and redownload the whole game or just download the patch (PS4 Pro + SSD)?
-
Well 1.08 will be released soon but it doesn't seem to improve desync/inventory bugds and performance on consoles, which is a shame... 😞
