I had heard restarts happened once or twice daily but never ran across anything official. I've had issues where things would get stuck and no matter what we did we couldn't get them unstuck. .....but every time on my private server (so far) a restart would fix it. Can't say the same on official servers.
-
That really sucks. Have you tried different batteries? .....maybe that one is glitched? Normally, I would just restart my own server if that happened to me to correct odd issues like this but that's obviously not an option here.

I'm kinda torn.... The bleeding / damage increase helped make the infected more of a threat so in that respect, I like it. I have to be more cautious around them especially when I'm alone. I also won't engage hand-to-hand as much as I used to. I do think the shoe degradation is way too much though especially with purpose-made shoes for hiking, hunting and military use. ....on the subject, I also think gloves wear too fast when sliding down ladders and also should take variants more into consideration.

Yeah, I've found one in my whole time playing and that was at the NW airbase. Luck of the draw but then again, I'm not going out of my way to look for them either. I'll simply visit the area if I'm nearby.

I'm probably stating the obvious but did you try moving the battery manually to the slot or other combinations?

I've been playing since the release on PS4 as well. Initially, the game was decent in regard to loot, etc. and the community in general IME. However, it wasn't long before it became more of a "shoot on sight" experience which is fine. I can play that way too although the commadriere was kind of nice between survivors just getting used to the game. ......but then loot also started to become scarce especially the more desirable weapons and gear. I spent more of my time dodging more geared players and just surviving. ......which may have been more fun had it not been for a lot of the bugs we had to deal with as well. When the community servers came online, I started playing on them and less on the official ones. Now I've been playing exclusively on private servers where passwords are required including my own where the owners have more control (e.g. server restarts/reinstalls, ROE, etc.). I've been having a blast since then with the exception of the (of course) persistent bugs many folks complain about.

Just thought I would throw this out there. I have to assume some will be streaming or posting footage. I didn't see an NDA and saw one person streaming on YT but it wasn't in English. 😞 I'm more interested in any potential fixes and changes that will come with the new DLC to be honest. ....since they said these will be passed on to the base game. If anything, it should those who are looking forward to the console release a little taste. Personally, I'll pass until they get some of these more persistent and game breaking bugs that affect me fixed.

So, after playing several hours I can say that I haven't had any BSODs but I did have one freeze upon loading in to the gameworld. ....which required me to close the game and restart. However, I should point out that I wasn't one of the ones who had been frequently affected by the BSOD issue. In my case, they were still relatively infrequent but I did get far more freezes when spawning in. I can't say whether the change(s) actually helped or not (me) at this point to be honest. Something else that is interesting to note is that lag spikes while driving and their severity have noticeably reduced in my sessions. Since the update I have yet to have any significant lagging and in general, they happen far less frequently than they did prior to the patch. They typically will only last for about 5 seconds or so with a moment just after things freeze where it briefly comes back for a plit second but it's enough to register your input on the controls. In other words, as long as I apply the brakes right when a spike occurs, it will register a second later when that very brief window pops up and then when the lag stops about 4 seconds later the car has already come to a stop. This was the case before as well but that brief window was preceded and followed by a much longer delay. The entire even could last ~ 10 - 20+ seconds. Whatever they did seems to have really improved my situation with the lag spikes while driving. I was planning on reporting that on the "report a bug" site since I believe I have several clips of the old lag spikes I could compare it to.

It's odd..... I rarely get knocked out but it always seems weird to me that a zombie would be able to knock a person out by simply flailing their arms. .....maybe by another player wit ha well placed headshot but not with a helmet. Definitely needs some tweaking. Regarding the car..... I totally agree. They should nix the player damage for now. I would even go as far as saying that they should drastically reduce or eliminate the collision damage to vehicles until they can get the lag spikes fixed. I would say that is the #1 leading cause of people losing their cars in this game right now. ....at least for those that don't disappear. I'm so tired of having to drive around the game world at or below 20kph.

Used the following link and read the instructions on the page. You can submit a private bug report for sensitive info like you are describing that you don't want to make public. Hope that helps. I appreciate that you would take the time to do this as it helps us all in the end. https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/42/

NWI made an announcement a few weeks ago that they decided to team up with a 3rd party to co-develop the ported version of Insurgency Sandstorm because the admitted to simply not having the experience with consoles to confidently deliver a finished product. It seems to me BI is in the same boat as they struggle to optimize this game on the PS4. I wonder too if it wouldn't be in their best interest (and ours) if they did something similar by bringing in another party who is more experienced with console development. .....because clearly what they are doing now isn't working that well at all IMO / IME. I've never played a game on PS4 with this many issues that was allowed to go this long without fixes.
-
Yeah..... I'm more interested in what 1.06 will bring in the way of fixes to console. If they could finally address the major issues plaguing a lot folks like lag spikes in vehicles, game freezes / crashes, weapon / mag glitches and inventory items getting stuck, I would buy this DLC in a heartbeat.
-
It's funny..... I had this prior to the hotfix but not since (so far). I would try not touching the controller for about 20 seconds or so until everything is loaded in. I was doing that before and it seemed to help. .....although I can't say for sure it really makes a difference.

Vehicles could build up torque to go up hills and even burnout
Kean__1 replied to Pauperprince's topic in PS4
I didn't see it on your list but perhaps I missed it or maybe my friends and I are the only ones affected..... After exiting a vehicle (as the driver), the player will sometimes freeze in place for a period of time. It's very similar to how a lag spike occurs and can be at the moment you step out to about a minute later. That glitch seems related to vehicles in the game and the lag spike issues. ....just thought I would throw it out there. -
Well, I'm not sure how old the "old ones" are but I'm past the half century mark myself. 😉 I stopped building PC rigs before the DayZ mod days but followed it loosely through YT. .....was a big fan of the Flashpoint series when it first came out. Anyhow, quite a shame we don't have more options like the OP mentioned. Perhaps BI will offer more down the road.
-
I'm going to check that out tonight. I was playing on my main character which is further inland. I'll log on with my second which is near the South coast.
-
Been lucky myself so far as I have not had any freezes or BSODs since. ....although I only have a few hours online after the patch. I'll know a lot more after this weekend how it's affected my own situation. I'm crossing my fingers.

Thanks for the explanation @MaVerick_GDZ.

Well, according to some, duping is still a thing. Regardless, there is only a finite amount of spawns for items on each server so at some point, things will start to become more and more scarce if people are allowed to hoard as they are. I guess my point is that it seems to me that wiping the servers is at best a temporary solution. Maybe they should establish certain servers that are wiped at set intervals?
-
I had no freezes or BSODs tonight. Only drove for a little bit and had one brief lag spikes but no long ones. I'll have to see how it all plays out after a few more sessions though.
-
Well, your reward would be a potential fix for the bug and the gratefulness of everyone here who is also plagued by the problem. 🙂

Maybe not for you but for a lot of us who have been asking for more, open communication it would. I'm not even going to get into the other remarks as I find them dismissive but I'll say this..... Look, I'm glad you're not experiencing a lot of the same problems as some of us and/or are perfectly content with the bugs that you do. ......using workarounds or simply putting up with them. However, that doesn't mean that others like myself don't have legitimate complaints about the game or BI. Many have asked for more communication so we know what they are working on and what their plans are to rectify some of these issues (or if they can at all). The fact is that DayZ is very buggy experience for many of us. I'm used to issues with games as most have them but not on this level. There is no other game out there on PS4 that I've played where I have had to relog 1-5 times a session, experienced as many game-breaking bugs that are allowed to persist this long after launch, have as many crashes, die as many times due to glitches / bugs, etc. than with DayZ. With that out of the way, I'm more concerned about what BI thinks and what they intend to do because that is what really matters most to me. After all, they are the only ones who can fix their game.

Doesn't sound like it but given this was "GPU related" (in their own words) and the tweaks they made were graphic related, maybe it will have a positive impact on things like lag spikes while driving, etc.
